Best church preaching truth, full of faith. Changed my life coming here. Now it's familyread more

I believe churches that receive tax-exempt status should be held to meaningful standards of transparency and accountability. Religious freedom should absolutely be protected, but that freedom should not give any organization a free pass to spread demonstrably false information, manipulate vulnerable people, or promote harmful beliefs under the banner of religion. What concerns me most is the way this preacher appears to use fear and guilt to control his congregation rather than encouraging people to think, question, learn, and develop their own relationship with their faith. The repeated message that women are somehow beneath men, that men must be the unquestioned "head of the household," and that women should simply accept a subordinate role is blatant misogyny--not something that should be excused simply because it is being preached from a pulpit. The preacher knew I wasn't a regular attendee. During the first sermon, I sat where I was mostly hidden from view. At the second service, I intentionally sat somewhere he could clearly see me, and I noticed what seemed like a significant change in the way he delivered the sermon. It felt as though he was deliberately singling me out to see how I would react. The whole situation felt extremely strange, uncomfortable, and honestly, super sketchy. There is nothing wrong with people having traditional beliefs, but there is something deeply disturbing when those beliefs are presented as unquestionable truth and used to diminish an entire gender. We have spent generations learning, growing, challenging outdated ideas, and recognizing that human beings are capable of doing better. We should not be glorifying ignorance or dragging society backward by pretending that every old belief or tradition was automatically righteous simply because it is old. Faith should inspire compassion, humility, honesty, love, and personal growth--not fear, shame, hatred, division, or blind obedience. A church should be a place where people are encouraged to become better human beings, not a place where they are frightened into submission. If a preacher has to rely on fear, guilt, misogyny, misinformation, and manipulation to keep people believing, perhaps the problem isn't the congregation's faith--perhaps it's the message being preached. People deserve better. They deserve the freedom to believe, but they also deserve the freedom to think.
