In saying that, I've debated for over 6 months about whether or not to write this one because I didn't know if it would help anything or just make the situation worse, but I decided to just do it. I want to make sure I'm giving credit where credit is due, so Dr. Harmen helped me through some hard things. She gave real advice, in the beginning, that was helpful for me. I loved her a lot and my mom and I bragged about her all the time. And then I realized that, during my sessions, most of the time was not being used to talk about me. Most of the time she would start talking about her life updates and what she had planned. And I was happy for her to be able to do things. I think those are amazing opportunities that not a lot of people get to enjoy, AND at the same time I was paying over $100 every session, cause she doesn't take insurance, and I wanted to be able to talk about the things I needed to process. If it had been like 5-10 minutes of her talking about the things going on in her life I would not have had a problem with that at all but it was like 30 minutes of the hour session that we would be talking about her. And on top of that, and this to me is a HUGE deal and why I decided to write this, she would talk about her other clients problems. While she would never mention their names or describe what they look like, she did tell me about what they were going through and the advice she gave them and all this stuff. Most of the time, comparing my problems to theirs. I only remember a few of the people she told me about a couple who had been having problems, this girl who was having problems w/ her parents who she said didn't care at all and didn't understand that the kid had opinions too, and then the worst of all in my opinion, she told me about a kid who's face I'd seen walking in to her office, cause he was walking out. She told me that he had had a schizophrenic break from smoking some bad w33d with his friend and how he wanted to crush her head like a grape. This created a big problem for me, because if she's telling me about these people, what is she saying about me to others? I started to not trust her. And that became even more enhanced when she lied to my mom about conversations that we had had. There were two instances and as usual, one was worse than the other. The first one she had told me that she was on my side and would talk to my mom about the certain situation to help her see my points. And so I was happy about that because my mom trusted Dr. Harmen. So I went home and told my mom what Dr. Harmen had said to me and my mom reached out to Dr. Harmen and Dr. Harmen told her "That is not what I said she's lying." So obviously this caused some problems between me and my mom because my mom obviously believed the grown adult with a doctorate. Eventually my mom believed me, but it caused multiple fights between us because she thought I was lying and Dr. Harmen gave her the fuel to that by edging her on and telling her about convo's that never happened. Then, this is the worst of the two in my opinion, she told me one day "your mom sent me a video of you kicking her." I was very confused because that never happened. So I said "What?" and she told me that she had it on her phone. So I asked her to show it to me and she told me to talk to my mom about it. So when the session was over I got in my car and asked my mom about it. And she said "No I don't even have a video of you kicking me." At this point I was confused because why would my therapist lie about something like that. So my mom reached out to Dr. Harmen and Dr. Harmen said "I never told her that. She must have made it up to gain control." That is what she said to my mom about me. I was devastated. So the next session I asked her about it and she said, "I never said she SENT it to me, she SHOWED it to me." Again I was very confused, but I talked to my mom again and again it caused more fights. In my eyes, Dr. Harmen just wanted mon
