was a patient for quite a few years, this is the short version of my issues. they would call up and cancel an appt the day of?, reschedule was then a month or more out, this happened to me a few times. also had a crown done by a previous dentist in OS come off. they let a dental student? I am assuming by inexperience try and glue it back on, fumbling around, bad fit and it fell off a day later, then the doctor did it himself, fell off. also after the dental cleaning appts the doctor would normally come into check, he took off early. this happened twice with me, they would say "oh just come back another time and he will look at you" REALLY! my daughter went there also. we decided to switch dentists and have never been happier. read more

Dishonest billing , family member got loan for dental work something happened they refused treatment and was supposed to send refund back to loan company and cancel told patient Aug 31, 2025 claim sent refund back. Spoke with loan company today 10/2/25 it never happened this family member making loan payments for services not received and withholding of funds to be refunded. read more

new patient. easy to book online. appointment day: 8am call to me stating my 4 pm appt had to move, called back and got 230pm appt, arrive at old saybrook and was informed central call center rebooked me without a hygienist on duty. laughable that a six office group of dentists cant do scheduling correctly. Life Long of Old Saybrook was once a great practice. The professionalism and dedication to helping their patients has subsided. It has been very difficult communicating with the staff. Scheduling appointments is another issue. There is a lack of transparency and a lot of confusion every time I call- when I actually get someone on the phone. The endotontist and hygienist are great. The front end staff are obsolete physically and mentally. Maybe they take an 8hr lunch break? No return calls, confusion with schedules and nobody picks up the phone... maybe it's inconvenient for them? Changing locations asap read more

Never would I go back. I wouldn't recommend this place to my worst enemy. I was in there for about two minutes. The dentist was so rude. They took some x-rays and referred me out. The place was dirty. Thankfully, I went to the best oral surgeon in Connecticut, Dr. Carney in Middletown they got me right in did the tooth extraction and I'm home healing. And it was a major abscessed molar. these people wasted my time and my money. read more

I recently had a cleaning with Katia (Kate), and she is talented and knowledgeable. Nothing but praise for her. However the office manager is a different story. Beyond rude and unhelpful to my husband. He was trying to explain to her his experience regarding their errors with his insurance and she did not want to hear it. She kept interrupting him when he calmly said to her there were a lot of other dental offices in town and her reply i]was to say to him let me know where you want your records sent. I sent in a very descriptive google review detailing their entire interaction and guess what? It was altered. Only showed me giving them 5 stars. Five stars for Katia,, absolutely. The office management gets an F. Since then I was told that office manager was promoted to a regional position. If her new position includes patient interaction she needs to go back to Problem Resolution 101 and get off her high horse. read more

Just awful went there because there are on my plan nice and clean place ,but sat down the young lady took all the info rt rear tooth having an issue ,dentist came in said couldn't tell what the issue was i would have to return on sat the 21st at 930 ,by now weeks have gone by and my tooth is killing me,today is 10/19 I am so looking forward to seeing the dentist to get rid of this pain ,they call me today to say there is a scheduling issue for sat and we cant fix your tooth ,but we should put you on antibiotics wtf i could have saved this tooth 6 weeks ago !!!!! BEWARE! My family has been going to Dr. Long and Dr. Benoit for 20+ years and have always been happy with the service. My insurance recently changed, I did check online and thought they took the new insurance. My son went for an exam and gave them the new insurance info. They did the exam and $400 with of x-rays and THEN tell us that they do not take the new insurance and we have to pay full price. I called and asked if there was anything they could do to reduce the bill because they didn't inform us that they didn't tank the insurance before they did the work and was told absolutely not, its my responsibility to pay the full price. I work in customer service and there is ALWAYS something you can do. I am not happy, and regardless of my future insurance I will not be going back. read more

I'd leave no stars if I could but the receptionists were nice and helpful. After filling out all paperwork, I followed a very unfriendly and intimidating assistant to a exam room. She looked at my teeth very briefly, took 2 X-Rays, then told me there was nothing to they could do to help my problem. All this while acting like I was bothering her and annoyed with my questions. And not once did a dentist even come to look. Not sure how they can diagnose that nothing can be done without a doctor looking, but ok. Weirdest and worst experience I've had with a medical "professional" ever. Follow up: went to a different dentist less than a week later. He listened and fixed my problem in less than 20 minutes in the chair. Do not trust this practice. read more

Stuck in Old Saybrook by COVID, I cracked a tooth. Unable to return to my regular dentist in St Petersburg, I picked Life Long simply because it was nearby and advertised emergency services. Dr Reza thought he could save the tooth with a crown. Between Dr Reza and his assistant Milada, they did such a great job that I came back for another crown that I had been putting off for a long time, this one done with the help of Kim. Everyone in the practice was sympathetic to my dental phobia which turned out to be misplaced as neither crown implacement produced anything other than minor discomfort. Don't fail to ask about their annual membership discount plan. read more

Unimpredsed to say the least. After a less than optimal care for a tooth extraction I was treated to what is a continuing saga of poor customer service from a practice that is about as disinterested as can possibly be. My insurance was billed for services that were not provided. When I brought it to the attention of the practice I was told that the issue would be remediated, the claim reversed and my cost share returned. Going on four months now and no resolution. If you're in the mood for insurance fraud this is the dental practice for you. Not recommended for sure. read more

The worst. How can they advertise as catering to the anxiety prone - the dentist was cold and inattentive. Hygienist was great.

I found Life Long Dental Care through my insurance company and I was a little nervous at first, trusting another practice with my pearly whites. But I can honestly say my experiences there have always been wonderful. They have a great way to put their patients at ease. They also took the time to explain, very thoroughly, what treatment I will need in the future due to previous dental work. I have recommended Holly and Dr. Long to multiple people. read more

Finding a good hygienist and dentist is hard to come by. It's safe to say that my experience here at Life Long in Old Saybrook was the best I've had yet. From the receptionist, to the friendly environment, I'd recommend this establishment to anyone. The care package they offer is affordable to those without dental insurance.
