App no longer has any Value. Unable to book appointments via Web. Likely due to cyber breach. Long waiting time.

Was told that my doctor had not given me the correct paperwork. Had to call my doctor's office, only to find out that the paperwork I submitted was accurate (AFTER the lady on the desk checked with her colleagues). WTF. 2. I asked if I had to pay for the test. She said "no", then asked a colleague who said "yes". Okaaaaay. 3. I handed her my card, assumed she was swiping it (couldn't see beneath the counter top), she handed me back my card and said I needed to pay. WHAT. I thought I just did. No, that's done by someone else. 4. Constant, incessant interruptions by her colleagues left me waiting and waiting and waiting. Finally, I had enough and suggested she focus on completing my transaction to which I received a mouthful and to which I responded accordingly. They need to train their front-line staff AND they need an additional person on the front desk. All I wanted to do was hand in a specimen and it took waaaaaay longer than it should have with a lot of aggro. Go to another Dynacare if you can. This place is atypical of Dynacare's usual high standards.

However - EVERY time I have gone to Dynacare and had my blood taken by Cristina, the Lab Technician, whatever magic or needle sorcery she does - it's painless and over in seconds. And she has consistently taken it quickly and painlessly over the couple years I have gone, is always calm and pleasant, and puts me at ease telling me stories or jokes. Thank you Cristina for making my worst nightmare actually MORE than tolerable now : ) Lisa P

I've never been to this location before and I thought all locations are standardized, and this one is closer. It's inside the Shoppers Drug Mart therefore not as big as other locations, since I'm not familiar with its setting, I hesitated a bit when I get there, but the front reception kept asking me to wait that it won't be long ... However, the nurse who took my blood test poked into my vein so painfully, that my arm got bruised even after a few days later. Don't know what went wrong, I thought Dynacare is a big company and their staff should be well-trained and proficient, very disappointed with the service provided

NOTE: The entrance to this lab is gained inside the Shoppers Drug Mart (at the rear of the store just left of the pharmacy department). I had the paperwork from my Doctor along with my health card ready for the person at the service counter. Some services are not covered by OHIP and you'll have to pay upfront out of pocket. There's seating for about 20 people. The TV monitor on the wall displays the wait times before you're seen by a lab technician. Staff were polite and efficient. I was in/out in 30 minutes.

I'm here every 3/4 months for the past 5 years and have never had a bad experience (knock on wood) PSA: Saturday and Monday mornings are pretty busy

This allows you to wait at home until closer to your time so you aren't crowding a waiting room. Wait time was 60 minutes so I waited 40 and made my way down only to be told once I got there that the check in doesn't work. So I had to wait in line for another 55 minutes. If you know it doesn't work then maybe take it off the website ‍. And then when I let the staff know I checked in before they told me it doesn't work the response I got was 'the check in doesn't work so if it's a problem come another day' which is sound advice for someone who doesn't have a full time job that they had to take time off of to come here.. 55 minutes later staff comes out with my uploaded form from their website only to be told they can't take it like that because the website seems to change it when they printed it. Luckily I was able to forward the email from my doctor directly to them otherwise I would have wasted over two hours of my day and half a days pay. They really should have one day dedicated walking and the rest of the week done by appointment. But to clarify, the staff were friendly, clearly frustrated with how busy it was but they were nice. And the service was as expected. I got the blood drawn. My issue is that the mother company tries to be online with checking in and uploading requisitions but there seems to be a lack of communication and organization when the online communicates with the actual centre. I did not need to waste over two hours of my day.

Tip: If you are a co-caregiver and you need a medical note from this office, don't bother. This…read moreplace only accepts one name as a co-caregiver and the receptionist dictates whether you deserve to get a medical note written by Dr Woo. I like Dr Kin Yee Woo. She is my mom's family doctor. Everything that I said about her in my previous review still holds true. The problem? Her receptionist that I spoke to over the phone, which aligns with what other Yelpers have said about her -- that she's a heartless, nasty piece of work. At my workplace, we were recently mandated to go into the office three times a week. That wasn't going to happen with me, as my dad and I are co-caregivers. My dad can't handle my being away from helping my mom out for three full days. I applied for an exemption with Human Resources. The HR woman still had the notion that I'd be working my way to being in the office three times a week. She didn't understand that it's a LOT of work to care for a loved one with dementia and more, and hold a full-time job. She said that I needed a doctor's note to get an exemption. I thought that with my positive experience with Dr Woo at my mom's appointment that getting a note would go well. I'm too optimistic. I called this medical clinic. It's hit or miss getting a response. I have left voice message and never got a call back. On March 31, a female receptionist picked up. I asked if I could get a doctor's note written by Dr Woo to state that I needed to take care of my mom with my dad. This woman said that only one of us could be the caregiver on file. This limitation was odd. My dad and I have always done co-caregiving duties. He is listed as the primary caregiver. This receptionist said that the doctor's note couldn't have my name on it because my dad is listed as the primary caregiver. She also said that it's "[my] choice" to work remotely and you can't have co-caregivers. Yes, it's my choice to care for my mom with my dad and take the burden off him for potentially being in the office three days each week. I found it odd that she dictated the doctor's note's content on behalf of Dr Woo. She said that she'll contact the doctor to see if she is "willing" to write a note. As expected, she never called back. Luckily, my mom had her first appointment with her gerontologist about her dementia. I asked him if he could write me a doctor's note. I got it. This receptionist showed no empathy for my family's situation and getting a doctor's note to help us out. I'm sure karma will show her a thing or two if she's ever in our position. Being a complete jerk doesn't get you far in life. Summary: You get decent health care with Dr Woo. It's the receptionist that needs a heart and a vat of compassion. I have left a voice message to share my distain for this receptionist and the primary caregiver "policy" that is allegedly set up here. I don't expect a response, but it felt good leaving a piece of my mind. (187)

They're appallingly rude and seem to delight in being unhelpful. Patients are barely given a moment to ask a question or clarify something before being cut off and told what to do. It's a wonder they'll survive in the real world with attitudes like that.
