Facility is absolutely horrendous. Food has mold on it bathrooms have mold in it. Staff can't even be bothered. Try to even take care of patients properly. The care was absolutely terrible.I would not recommend sending your worst enemy here read more

Livestream is not the place to bring anyone for treatment. I was brought there on Friday 11/15/25 by Lake County Sheriff's deputies and upon arrival I was greeted with some type of welcome. They take all your belongings including your wallet and cell phone and socks, I actually had exactly $10 in my wallet and when I left for another hospital I checked my wallet and my $10 was missing. Arrived at Lifestream at 11:00 pm, and at 10:00 am the next morning they told me they couldn't treat me because they didn't have the resources to treat me because I am a end stage renal disease patient and a diabetic, so they held me for 11 hours before they told me they couldn't treat me. While I counted at least a dozen other people laying on the floor and plastic seats sleeping while waiting to be assessed. read more

I don't like how they make people take medications even if they vomit them up and instead of giving them them the injection for schizophrenia and a heavy duty tranquilizer before and after they leave for treatment they just give medications for oral consumption and they force people to leave that want to be there and they take away their eye glasses so they can't see anything in the place. I don't like how they don't believe people who open up to one of the staff members about real problems they have or think and they get laughed at and told to shut the fuck up. if it takes a patient exposing their genitalia for a male staff worker to see they have a infection there then they should be believed and not scorned or harassed by law enforcement. honestly just oral medications of a pteint cannot absorb it because they throw it up they should just work on getting in touch with the medical place that makes these medications and make a spray for it if patients don't like painful needles and they start doing things to kill themselves like drinking liquid hand soap or puttng toothpaste on their eyes to make themselves blind at the place where they get evaluated at. it's a mistake to let patients leave and let them do their own thing and later they have health problems like vomiting or heart problems from the medications. there should be more options like nasal spray or injections for schizophrenia and bipolar disorder that are heavy duty painkillers and antivirus and relaxers and psych drugs in liquid forms of the oral medications and the staff should give it instead of letting people do it themselves or have someone else do it because people can overdose easily or not be able to handle strong dosage medication without them getting sick like excess throwing up and diarrhea .honestly this is no excuse to overlook or disregard patients claims for health problems and should be taken seriously and dealt with accordingly and immediately. read more

Absolute terrible place. Do not bring your loved one here. Some staff are very nice like Mercedes who does addiction counseling and there was a very kind older gentleman who worked in activities but most of the nursing staff and aides are burnout and treated patients like cattle. Patients were afraid to ask staff for basic needs, like a pad, because they would yell at us. One girl was sobbing at the nursing station and an aide(big black lady with short crippy hair that was plastered to her head) yelled at her to, "take that mess to the day room. We're locked out of our rooms at 6am and told to sit in the day room. It's freezing cold and all we have are thin hospital gowns and socks. One girl walked around barefoot bc she was afraid to ask for socks. A patient was very upset bc another patient picked up a cockroach and threw it at her and the 2 aides were laughing at her for being angry. Don't even get me started on the meds. So many women (I was on the female unit) were tired and zonked out from the meds and were sleeping on the hard floor and suicide prevention chairs. Which are big and hard, bolted to the floor so they're spaced out and extremely uncomfortable. Nursing staff would constantly yell at the women for asking for basic needs. Like a pad, meds, access to toilets, you name it. I understand being burnout, overworked, underpaid. But I was a CNA for 15 and when I became burnout I quit. This facility is traumatizing people and hurting the community. I'm not exaggerating or being dramatic. Infact this is the first review I've ever written. I walked in a complete mess and Meghan took the time to help me just by listening. she's not even the therapist there but she should be. I just graduated from the program there and I'm actually sad that I won't be seeing her anymore. don't let her go Lifestream. read more

The worst !!! If you need help go anywhere but there. They really don't care and want you just to sleep on the floor from 7:00 in the morning till 7:00 at night without even a pillow because they lock you out of your room treat you like garbage feed you crap and makes fun of you . Never send your loved on here. This place is evil. For one thing it's freezing cold they make you wait in the lobby for 10 hours or more before you're given a bed. Then you're lucky to get a bed you'll probably be sleeping on the floor. The staff is horribly abusive I saw so much elderly abuse it was crazy. The food is disgusting the place is filthy. And if you don't I'm the family member you will never get out of there they will send you to the state mental institution where you will live the rest of your life. The lifestream workers treat people terribly. they also say peoples personal info such as phone numbers out loud where everyone can hear them, which violates privacy rules. Workers act negative constantly and when you ask a simple question such as to use the restroom, they say they "dont want to deal with your shit". Worst experience of my entire life. They literally treat people like animals. I ended up there based on symptoms that I was experiencing from lack of sleep.. and I was not allowed to sleep for the duration of my entire stay. I walked into that place at 7pm and they let me rot in their "waiting area" until 2:30 in the morning with people who were acting like actual psychopaths. It was after 3am that I finally made it into my room where they proceeded to keep my door open and talk as loudly as humanly possible. Everyone gets woken up at 6:30 after which they lock the doors to the rooms and you're forced to sit in a plastic chair until it's time to go to bed again. Staff is rude and condescending, food is beyond disgusting and the actual environment is filthy. You would likely have better accommodations in jail. Horrible in every way. I don't even understand how they have the audacity to call themselves a "mental health facility." I left that place considerably more traumatized than I was when I walked in. Stay away! read more

Mr. Richard, who works with the kids as a counselor, is fantastic! That guy knows what he's doing and treats you good. If you got a kid messing up bad, give him to Mr. Richard and he will straighten him out. Big dude but good with kids. read more

This was an experience that I'll never forget, but I truly wish I could block it out. I was sent here on the Baker Act, because of some thoughts that I expressed to a counselor. I sat in a hallway for over 4 hours, waiting for processing, along with meth addicts and general lunatics. I felt unsafe from the first moment I entered. I was completely compliant, and followed all rules, as I know I needed help. I was then warehoused, with both male and female patients, in an unused part of the building. I slept on a mat, on the floor, with several sketchy types, mostly male. While most employees were pleasant with me, EVERYONE lies. I was lost in the system, and received no help, whatsoever. I was moved, at 4am, to the female ward, and the ladies working there did their best, but they don't get paid enough to care. There was nothing to do, except watch religious TV. Hard pass. I couldn't stomach the food, and lost 10 lbs. The same guy who cleaned the toilets was serving the food, if you can call it that. I believe this is one step below prison. If given the choice, I would have chosen jail. Avoid this place at all costs. Florida is the WORST place to get sick. What a nightmare!! read more

I checked myself in here to come off a medication (Klonopin) THE WORST PLACE TO COME!!! Not only did they try to take me off a Benzo with a Benzo, they were RUDE AND COLD. And needless to say I ended up in the hospital and became a liability. AWEFUL PLACE!! Staff is rude... You don't feel safe at all... Place it's not clean...Ppl are not only NOT FRIENDLY but have no compassion either. DON'T EVER COME HERE IF YOU VALUE YOUR LIFE N WELL BEING. read more

Keep your child away from this place. They demonstrate no concern for their welfare, the doctor never calls you, and they treat them like a prisoner. I took my daughter to a therapy session because she felt depressed and asked to see a therapist. Within 30 minutes of the appointment, she expressed some inclination of self harm and she was Baker Acted. The therapist called a cop to take her to Lifestreams "for her own safety." Safety?! Not addressing the reason she was there. Not a real evaluation. Not building trust and seeing what the problem is to find solutions. No. Baker Acted. Taken in a cop car in handcuffs, having everything taken away including her sketchbook and music which are her coping mechanisms, imprisoned for 5 days and drugged! There was no concern for her welfare demonstrated. Therapy equated to a series of questions that were repeated each session. The kids never went outside. She's a straight A Honor Roll 8th grade student in all AP classes and she was given 3rd grade schoolwork. They prescribed Celexa and Abilify to a 14 yo who showed signs of depression. Abilify is an anti-psychotic drug and has moderate interactions with Celexa which is an SSRI. If you care about your child don't ever let them near here. She will not be cared for. She'll just be put in a box and have her freedom taken away. There are kids in there who are going crazy from being there and from the drugs they're on. I never spoke to a doctor for her 5-day stay which was supposed to be 3, but 5 due to miscommunication. I called several times a day. I spoke to the case worker once during her stay. Nurses several times a day, but never a doctor. I just got shuffled to someone's voicemail and given different excuses of why she was staying longer... all of which ended up being incorrect. The nurses could only read from a chart. They couldn't really talk to me about what was going on with my daughter! The entire process was horrible, ineffective, neglectful, causing more damage than helping. They need to be shut down! read more

ABSOLUTE NIGHTMARE- DO NOT TAKE ANYONE YOU LOVE HERE In fear for my son's life due to drug addiction, I filed a Marchman Act Petition with the Lake County Court & relied on the system to follow the legal protocol. They ignored the petition, processed him as a Baker Act patient, put him in the psych unit, gave him Benedryl to assist with detox & released him after 3 days. He was also attacked by another patient in that unit during his stay. The Marchman Act mandates that the evaluating facility complete their evaluation & make a recommendation to the court as to an extended treatment plan that is typically a 60 - 90 process. Since he was processed as a Baker Act patient, my son never saw the judge & Lifestream instructed the court to close the petition. He definitely had drugs in his system when he was brought in & was in withdrawal the entire time of his stay there. They refused to communicate with me or answer to my questions regarding why he would not be seeing the judge. I filed the petition & therefore, I have a right to answers. If my son ends up in a worse position, I will certainly hold Lifestream partially responsible. Unfortunately this facility is contracted with Lake County government & therefore have no other treatment facility options. The Marchman Act should be saving lives but we are completely set up for failure hers in Lake County. read more

Worst place to send your child to. Trying so hard to get him the mental health help he needs and they just discharge him, without first notifying us that it was about to happen. Even though we feel he isn't ready to come, they told us we have 4 hours to get there and pick him or they they were calling DSS, turning him over to Foster Care and charging US with neglect!!! Nice, threaten the parents that are actually trying to help their child. We are not the bad guys, they are!!!!!!! I was admitted here and it was the worst of my life. The beat and abused me. I was on phone restriction my entire stay there. The doctor barely spoke to me and diagnosed me with a mental disorder. (I have no history of ever having an mental illness) The staff provoked me and laughed at me. They prescribed medication that altered my brain causing me to have hallucinations and suicidal idéations. I was a test dummy for them. I remember all the abuse that happened to me at that facility. I am in the process of suing them for negligence. Please someone close down that facility and don't take your family member there. They treat the patients so wrong in there and what makes it worse is their lack of care and pretentious facade they put on for the families and visitors. read more

Easily THE WORST place I have ever been for psychiatric help. Office staff are rude and condescending. Appointments take too long to get and then POOF, you don't have an appointment after all. Psych help in Lake County is the poorest I have ever encountered. They have you in a bind and work it. Only had one doc who actually listened and he had the good sense to retire as soon as he could. Current guy isn't likely to stick around either. That's what happens when medicine becomes a corporate entity. Bottom line profit is all that matters. read more

This place needs to be shut down. Both my spouse and my child need to go here for two different types of cases. Both have had appointments mysteriously "cancelled" by the front office staff with no notice/warning until we show up for the appointment. You can't get in touch with your actual doctor - the "nurses" do not give the doctors your messages if you call with issues (on several occasions, we have had issues with bad side effects to medications the doctor prescribed - NEVER got a phone call back from the doctor, even after calling and speaking to the so called "nurse" 5+ times! Ended up having to go to the ER because there are no other options. Next visit with the doctor, we were told they were never given any message!) You will have to wait sometimes months to schedule your follow up appointments - no good for anyone on psychiatric meds and VERY dangerous! Nurse practitioners with NO experience in psychology or psychiatrics are dispensing powerful prescriptions and have no idea of interactions, side effects, etc. Our pharmacy thankfully caught it when the ARNP prescribed two potentially lethal medications when prescribed together!! And no one in the office cares. The good doctors (few and VERY FAR between) leave quickly to go to other practices. read more
