Love these guys! I have been renting in the Plymouth area for 18 years and have had a succession of…read morecouldn't care less landlords and greedy letting agents. These guys area finally something different for the discouraged and disgruntled tenant. Their fees are reasonable and clear up front with no nasty surprises sprung on you when you pick up the keys. Their referencing system is all online and easy to complete and they had all the paperwork including inventory ready for us on the day of signing with no waiting about. Since moving in we have had a few maintenance issues that have been dealt with swiftly by competent and polite workmen. We had the misfortune to have a flood from an upstairs flat shortly after moving in and the agent (Max) could not have been more helpful, there was a plumber and an electrician there to do initial safety checks within half an hour of us calling and Max himself arrived to check things personally very shortly after. We have since been a little disgruntled with our landlord for taking their time getting the damage fixed but the agent has done everything they can to remedy our dissatisfaction including negotiating with our landlord for a rent reduction. So many agencies only care about what the Landlord wants and treat the tenants like scum, these guys are different, finally an agency that realises that the tenant is as much a customer as the landlord and treats us accordingly.

We should have smelled a rat when their rental estimate came in over £100/month higher than the other (more reputable) agent. We were given assurance that the apartment would be rented within 2 weeks and would be snapped up in the current market.... sadly not. The photos taken by the agency were drab and lifeless and key pieces of information were omitted from the description. 6 weeks went by with only two text messages from Fulfords saying that viewings had been arranged. When we phoned them up it transpired that over 13 people had been to view the apartment and that they had (unsurprisingly) thought that it was over-priced, and (even worse) would have accepted a slightly lower rent - at no point did they contact us to say that a reduction of £25-50/month would have resulted in a tenancy. We finally lost patience with their appalling attitude and pushy manner on the phone so took our business elsewhere. Within 2 weeks the apartment was rented out by the other agent with no problems whatsoever; the photos, presentation, advertisements and service provided by the other agency were excellent and their professionalism has gone some way to restoring my confidence in the industry. The nail in the coffin occurred when we attempted to take back the 2 sets of keys from Fulfords..... They could only find one set and, when I insisted that they pay up for the replacement set (or to change the lock on the main door), the agent smugly replied that I couldn't prove that they had taken possession of the keys and where was the 'signed proof' that they had taken 2 sets. I was exasperated that an agent that we had trusted with the care of our flat could be so negligent and careless with its security. Lesson learnt..... please please don't make the same mistake.
