MONEY HUNGRY PRACTICE! DO NOT BOOK AN APPOINTMENT! I specifically did my research & found a provider who participated in my insurance. I proactively sent my most recent dental x-rays over prior to my appointment, although the appointment I booked was for my annual dental cleaning. At the time of my appointment I was handed forms to fill out, one of them being a "$35 Oral Cancer Screening". During my appointment the Dentist looked over my recent x-rays and proceeded to order a full mouth set of x-rays. One would think a professional practice would check with a patient's insurance carrier to see if a complete imaging procedure would be covered or confirm whether the insurance carrier will allow it for the 2026 year- NOPE. The dental assistant who performed my cleaning then asked if I'd be interested in the oral cancer screening (you'd think this would be covered under a routine dental screening- not according to this practice.) They push it as if it's their monthly special. After my appointment I headed to the front desk where the receptionist quoted me $226.40 for a treatment plan. In the treatment plan the total fee equated to $680. The "estimated insurance coverage" was $453.60. I spoke with my insurance carrier after the visit to confirm coverage. 80% of each treatment code listed would be covered and I would be responsible for paying the remaining 20%. One code was not covered in its entirety but the office did not inform me- instead I was merely handed a treatment plan with an expectation that I would pay $226.40. Fast forward to a month or so later- I received a bill from Lighthouse Dental in the amount of $310, for what you may ask? The panoramic x-rays that were done without checking my insurance coverage. I received a call from Lighthouse Dental and I asked the receptionist "if I provided my most recent x-rays prior to my visit why were additional x-rays done?" She replied "all new patients need full x-rays." I questioned why the practice didn't check my insurance coverage or contact my previous Dentist for my last full x-rays if it was needed. She then said "well on the bright side you won't have to get it done again for 5 years" EXCUSE ME? To top it off, after speaking with the receptionist I asked to speak with an office manager- who took two weeks to return my call. I refuse to pay $310 due to Lighthouse Dental's negligence. Do not go there. I went there seeking Invisalign advice because I had one tooth out of alignment (had braces as a kid, and the rest of my smile was perfect!). My great insurance covered orthodontic work, so I thought why not get this done! The treatment basically pulled all of my teeth backward, my bite feeling locked, and left me grinding my teeth into one another. I definitely regret this treatment! Then, I has crown done. As I ate, the pressure of the crown which was obv too far backward, popped out the gold inlay of the molar behind it. Obv the crown was not the right size! So, I am left with thousands of dollars of corrective dental work. When I went there, I had great insurance, so they had no problem doing this work. Now, without insurance, I am stuck. Wonderful! If you have sensitive teeth or put off going to the dentist because of the fear of pain, make an appointment and ask for Irina! Not only is she very experienced (28 years) and excellent technically, but she's extremely kind and compassionate and makes sure you are comfortable. She used a wonderful topical on my gums and I had absolutely NO PAIN at all during my cleaning. Normally I have a lot of pain. She also explained everything that she was doing so I felt well-informed. She said to me that after my cleaning I would, "Feel like a million bucks," and I DO! My teeth look and feel beautiful! So clean and shiny. I'm really motivated now to keep them that way! I also had a consultation with Dr. Zaffetti. I didn't have any work done with him on this visit, but he was very friendly and informative and I felt like I was in good hands, getting the best advice on how to proceed with my dental care going forward. The front office staff are great, very friendly and professional. In fact, it was my initial phone call with Eileen that convinced me to make an appointment. We talked about my pain concerns and she told me about her own experience with the topical pain treatment that they use. She made me feel very at ease and confident about coming in. Gina is also great. After my cleaning, she told me about the Dentite plan that may save me money and help me pay for the work that I still need to have done. The only downside is that they do not accept HUSKY Insurance, which is what I have. So I will have to pay out of pocket. As a self-employed person, that's going to be really hard. I need some work done so the cost is going to set me back on other plans that I had, but I will do it because taking care of your teeth and gums is one of the most important things you can do. It impacts so much of the rest of your health. When you find dental care that you feel happy and confident about, you don't want to go anywhere else. They do accept other insurances, so if you don't have HUSKY, you should be fine. read more

Dr. Samuels is fantastic and all of the staff at this office is just so lovely! We drive over an hour to come to Lighthouse Dental because we appreciate the level of care and expertise so much. I have been a patient for a while now, and have had to visit a few times during COVID for some urgent procedures. I was experiencing severe tooth pain, of course during COVID-19. They fit me in immediately and Dr. Zaffetti was able to fill 3 cavities for me on the same day. The staff is so kind and helpful. Very disappointing experience Responded to a mailing And wound up paying dramatically higher than other alternatives.... $200 for a mediocre cleaning that is $100 anywhere else. Lots of up selling including deep cleaning at $1200 for the entire mouth . They also take very few insurances. Do yourself a favor and find a better alternative in the Milford area... Fantastic dental office. I have avoided going to the dentist for years because of a phobia. No sir. Do not, under any circumstances, go here. Please. I have a mild issue with anxiety when I visit dentists and I put that on my introduction form. They took that to mean that I have severe panic attacks and treated me like a mental patient when having a cavity filled- a filling they did a horrible job on and I had to have fixed by a competent dentist later. After the horrible filling job I was given a sales pitch on fixing my smile- even though as a teen I had 4 years of orthodontist work and have very straight teeth. Please......go somewhere else. I am a new patient of Dr. Samuels. I have had great experiences each time I have gone there. The front staff is always friendly and helpful. My dental hygienist did not seem like she was in a rush when I got a cleaning and was very pleasant. Also, I had let a root canal go a bit long without getting a crown. Dr. Samuels was able to save the tooth still. I experienced no pain in a comfortable setting. He has great bedside manner and also seems to treat his staff with respect which speaks volumes. read more

I love Dr. Jarmon and his whole staff. The care is excellent. Everyone is friendly and accommodating. From the basic cleaning to more complicated dental work, Dr. Jarmon and his associates have taken excellent care of me. They are very cognizant of the patient's comfort and take care to provide the most comfortable experience. When I needed a very complicated root canal, Dr. Jarmon did not hesitate to send me to a specialist. I trust him and his recommendations. The specialist was fantastic. I have always been apprehensive about Dentists and Dental work. When I called the office to possibly make an appt because I was overdue I was greeted very warmly on the phone. The receptionist was very patient because I was full of questions and put me at ease, and I scheduled an appt. I have met with two of the doctors at the practice and they were both so attentive and kind. They both were extremely knowledgeable about my treatment needs. Financially I am not Daddy Warbucks but the office worked out a payment plan that suited my needs. This office all around is for the patients and I highly recommend. read more
