I proactively sent my most recent dental x-rays over prior to my appointment, although the appointment I booked was for my annual dental cleaning. At the time of my appointment I was handed forms to fill out, one of them being a "$35 Oral Cancer Screening". During my appointment the Dentist looked over my recent x-rays and proceeded to order a full mouth set of x-rays. One would think a professional practice would check with a patient's insurance carrier to see if a complete imaging procedure would be covered or confirm whether the insurance carrier will allow it for the 2026 year- NOPE. The dental assistant who performed my cleaning then asked if I'd be interested in the oral cancer screening (you'd think this would be covered under a routine dental screening- not according to this practice.) They push it as if it's their monthly special. After my appointment I headed to the front desk where the receptionist quoted me $226.40 for a treatment plan. In the treatment plan the total fee equated to $680. The "estimated insurance coverage" was $453.60. I spoke with my insurance carrier after the visit to confirm coverage. 80% of each treatment code listed would be covered and I would be responsible for paying the remaining 20%. One code was not covered in its entirety but the office did not inform me- instead I was merely handed a treatment plan with an expectation that I would pay $226.40. Fast forward to a month or so later- I received a bill from Lighthouse Dental in the amount of $310, for what you may ask? The panoramic x-rays that were done without checking my insurance coverage. I received a call from Lighthouse Dental and I asked the receptionist "if I provided my most recent x-rays prior to my visit why were additional x-rays done?" She replied "all new patients need full x-rays." I questioned why the practice didn't check my insurance coverage or contact my previous Dentist for my last full x-rays if it was needed. She then said "well on the bright side you won't have to get it done again for 5 years" EXCUSE ME? To top it off, after speaking with the receptionist I asked to speak with an office manager- who took two weeks to return my call. I refuse to pay $310 due to Lighthouse Dental's negligence. He called first thing Monday morning and explained that the tooth was extremely sensitive and that he was having difficulty eating. The receptionist told him they could squeeze him in on Tuesday, so he waited for that appointment rather than immediately seeking care elsewhere. Then, only two hours before his scheduled appointment on Tuesday, the office called to tell him that the doctor was completely booked and could no longer see him. Their solution was to offer him an appointment in the middle of the following week. That level of patient care is completely unacceptable to me. This was not a routine cleaning or something that could comfortably wait another week. His tooth was exposed, extremely sensitive, and painful enough that eating was difficult. What made the experience even worse was the complete lack of concern, understanding, or effort to accommodate him after they were the ones who had already scheduled the appointment. He ultimately decided to switch dentists. His new dentist got him in and had the problem fixed within about 20 minutes. It is incredibly disappointing that a longtime dental office could not find a way to address a patient with an urgent issue -- particularly when the restoration had already failed twice. The last-minute cancellation, lack of urgency, and overall dismissive treatment of a patient in discomfort were awful. We expected much better care and basic consideration from a dental practice. After this experience, he will not be returning, and I would not recommend this practice to anyone looking for a responsive, accommodating dental office.

First of all, the office was spotless. It was so clean and up to date with all COVID precautions. Tamika runs the front desk and she is friendly and professional. For my cleaning, Betsy was a pleasure. She gave such a thorough cleaning and fast with all of her X-rays. She is such a lovely person. Last but not least is Dr. Allie Kudish who gave the best exam. I went there in January and I must say the office is extremely clean....open...and well lit. My hygenist Aleesia couldn't of been nicer. It was like I'd known her forever. And truthfully it had been probably over 15 years since I had my teeth cleaned and I'm really not a dentist person cause I don't like someone working in my mouth. But the way this lady works is very comfortable. I could not believe all the X-rays she did of my teeth. I said to her would you like my autograph too? Heh heh heh...she thought that was funny. The doctor.....Doctor Sran came in to look at my x-rays and he said how old are you I said 52. He said you don't have one cavity in your mouth....he said it's amazing. He wanted to do a deep cleaning which they do it in 4 quadrants but I couldn't afford that. It would have been $250 a quadrant x 4= $1000 and I wasn't able to afford anything like that. The cleaning Aleesia did was amazing. It was like I had new teeth. All the staining and tartar was gone and I've actually had a couple people say how white my teeth looked. She did a regular cleaning then buffing them and I was over the moon how my teeth came out . If I could give this place 11 stars I would. I arrived for my appointment and the technician asked me if I had any other concerns which I did, he spoke with the dentist & she advised him to just take images of the teeth that I had concerns of. I was told by the receptionist that the dentist wanted Imaging of all of my teeth & she informed me that my insurance would not cover the x-rays and I would have to pay out-of-pocket reason being that the dentist requested only three images that were just taken by the technician. The dentist was well aware that I had not been to that office in one complete year, why wouldn't she advise the technician to take imaging of all of my teeth? When I asked to speak with the dentist all of a sudden she was busy. This is unethical on her part & quite honestly bad business, she was quite unlikable & made the impression that it was more about making money than giving great care, I will not be returning and I advise anyone to use caution when dealing with Shoreline Dental in Milford Connecticut! Every single staff member I talked to yesterday was wonderful and genuinely cared that you walked through the doors and felt comfortable and welcomed. The office looks brand new and is sparkling clean. I did my teeth cleaning - where they had TVs in each of the patient corners- even one on the ceiling - which I thought was a really fun touch. When Dr Jason came in to check on me he found not one, but two cavities - the first ever in my life! He has an opening pretty soon after so I stayed and he took care of them 15 minutes tops. I walked out the door with a smile and a great swag bag of Shoreline Dental merch. This place is the real deal from top to bottom. A special thank you to all the staff that let me ask for advice on drilling a cavity without numbing my whole face - you were all right - it's possible and did not hurt! See you again in 6 months!
