Port of Kimberling Marina & Resort - Day one sunrise was amazing

I stayed in a cabin here for Memorial Day weekend. Booking the cabin by phone was easy and…read morestraightforward. A little pricey for what you get, but I completely understand the upcharge for the holiday weekend! We brought our dog with us and paid a small one-time pet fee, then he was good to go. Our king cabin was perfect for my our 70 lb labradoodle, my partner, and me. However, I think it would've been a bit of a tight squeeze with anyone else there too. When we arrived, our cabin was decently clean. A few bugs, but that's to be expected in the woods! They don't replenish your bathroom towels while you're there, but we had about 6 stored under the sink for the weekend, and that was just enough for us. There were mini bottles of shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and lotion on the bathroom sink, but I recommend bringing your own unless you're only staying one night. The kitchen had an oven, stove, fridge, freezer, and some small appliances like a blender and toaster. The cabinets were fully stocked with plates, silverware, bowls, and cups. There was also a small bottle of dish soap and an extra roll of paper towels. There were two TVs in our cabin, one in the living room and a smaller one in the bedroom. I love the outdoor seating on the spacious front patio. We also used the grill out there and made the best burgers and steak! The dumpsters to drop off your trash bags are conveniently located in the campground area. There's a grocery store only about 5 minutes from the cabins, so we went there to get some small things like seasonings, aluminum foil, and the food of course. But the kitchen was pretty much stocked with most of the things we needed to cook a meal, which was nice! They allowed us to check in 4 hours early, our neighbors weren't too noisy, and we basically had everything we needed. Other than a rain reimbursement that I should've paid for since it poured the whole time we were there (which is totally on me for taking that risk!) we had a such a fun time! I would definitely stay here again.

I wish I could separate stars. This place is awesome. We've…read morebeen camping and boating here for around 20 years. The campground is always taken care of. It's beautiful...it's a great location. It's easy to access. The ladies we deal with at the front desk (Julie and company) are the bomb dot com. So why the 3 stars? Price! It's getting out of control. Of course they jack the price up on Holiday weekends which is even more upsetting. That's about the only time we camp here. When we first started camping it was around 36 dollars a night for full hook ups. You couldn't hardly get a spot. It was always booked. We had to book a year in advance every holiday so our families could camp. Well...it was $78 a night this year and moving to $82 a night next year. This was the first holiday I looked around and really noticed empty campsites. The many of cabins were even vacant. I believe those are over $1,200 for the weekend if you book those. The full time campsites never had openings. They do now! Yes, it's a nice location, but I fear the new owners are pricing themselves out of the market. It's not a Sandals exclusive resort. Make camping great again Port of Kimberling! I know we are considering taking our boats to a location closer to home because of this. We drive over 2 hours to get here. An hour drive sure sounds nice when prices of everything are so unreasonable. Oh, and my dad just pulled his boat out of their marina because of the price increase.

Been coming into the pub/bar here periodically for just over a year; it's a smashing little place…read more Down down a short flight of stairs it's quite small inside, but packed w/ funky/cool decor; so much to see & chat about. Friendly locals are usually hanging out & the owner might be there afternoons, with his big red parrot, which is pretty great to be around. Need I say that this place is Biker Friendly? Drinks menu is reasonably priced & the alcohol selection is respectable. Drinks are well poured, & served by seasoned pros, not hipster kids. No offence to the young, but often the 'cool' kids who work in popular bars are less cool than they realize. The bar maids here are some epic chicks, who've attended a "rodeo" or two. As bartenders & new friends, they made us feel at home & showed my little group a damn fine time, time after time. In the pub, there's also live music (no room to dance), not sure which nights - call & ask. I heard a lady named Sherry play her guitar & sing rock/folk songs in tones that would break your heart. Again, a seasoned pro. BE FOREWARNED: Placed outside the city limits, this is legally permitted to be a SMOKING bar. Don't go, if you don't like that. And don't write crappy reviews out of petty spite. Remember tolerance? Exercise it. You might like the 2nd bar upstairs at the pool(!). It's a jazzy little bar made of an old VW van & the view is pretty spectacular from up there, too. The whole place is built on top of a bluff overlooking Tablerock Lake. It's just gorgeous. The upper/pool bar is probably open at peak season only, so call ahead to know for sure. I wouldn't come to this pub specifically to eat, food is adequate for the drinking public, but not really a place worthy of 'eating out'. BUT for a drinking experience, it's unsurpassed locally. The mood is like a mixture of 'Chelsea's' & the 'Cat House' down in Eureka Springs. It's a super-cool vibe, ultra relaxing & fun, & if you get drunk, it's also a motel : ) so, Yay!
