When we made the reservation, we didn't realize that we were going to eat one of the finest meals we've ever had, and when they asked us to follow them through random back rooms to our dinner, we didn't expect to end up in a warm, cozy, and modern Michelin level restaurant. 5 stars for the Irish music…read more The whiskeys they poured at Peadar O'Donnels were probably the smallest I've had in the UK, and I had plenty of whiskeys during me 3+ weeks traveling there. The sign on the wall, if it was to be believed, made it seem like they were pouring between 18-20ml. Every other bar I had been to either used a 25ml measuring cup or the rare 35ml measuring cup (THE CEILIDH PLACE in Ullapool stands out in my mind as giving out 35ml), but this guy just poured from the bottle into the glass, and indeed it did seem a very wee dram. :) My wife got a beer though, and that was of a normal size. :) If you don't care about the music, I am sure there are plenty of other bars in Derry that can give you a good wee drink.
