And I used Yelp to find this one, the five star review that I based my decision off of has since fallen off for some reason. I thought it was super convenient that they were able to come to see the car without taking it into a shop however that's a double edged sword. The extent of repairs that our car needed (new engine mounts and undercarriage damage) required a lift. Because this mechanic is 100% mobile (which is great if you are stuck and can't get towed somewhere) they share a space with another mechanic in Bovoni. The day that we went there to get the car onto the lift, it was already in use, and would not be available soon, which was a waste of my afternoon. Victor the mechanic, told me that he would call me back for a time and he never did, I in fact never heard a peep from him again. He and his wife (whom is his assistant) are awesome, they were able to see me the next day after my call, and they were so pleasant to work with but I had hoped that there would have been some type of follow up. I get it that he was very busy responding to a lot of jobs, but at least tell me then that you can't help me. Its ok, I was able to find a rocking awesome mechanic at Lenard's (read that review) that we used for two years while on St. Thomas. #St.Thomas #USVI

Even on his business card is says $25 for "regular diagnostics" and $75 for "computerized diagnostics". Cliffs auto repair was a preferred referral to my hubby and I by our car insurance company. Two cat…read more5 hurricanes threw around a lot of stuff at 150-200mph all over St. Thomas. This stuff unfortunately flies into cars and you're lucky if you're part of the 1% that didn't have any body damage to your vehicles. My hubby and I were not a part of that 1% and had to get an estimate from Cliff. He is a very very busy man and you'll need to bring patience with you if you come here. There are people lined up all day waiting for him to do an estimate. His turn around time is about 2 days for the official document to provide to your insurance company but he is very through, fair and is such a polite guy to work with. His shop is cash only and it's $30 per estimate. The hurricane damaged parts of the bridge that goes to his shop so beware if you have a car that sits lower to the ground ( there are gigantic holes). If you can't make it across Cliff will come out to the street when the food truck is or the plaza parking lot next door to do the estimate. His parking lot it also always packed and is very tight to turn around in so be prepared to back out. Cliffs was a great referral for our estimate needs and if we didn't have a great mechanic already we'd probably use him for all of our car needs.
