I found her to be intelligence, knowledgeable, compassionate and effective. Also, I found her strong enough and direct enough to call me on my "stuff" when needed. I feel very lucky to have been in her care at that fragile time in my life. On more than one occasion, Dr. Woods extended my appointment time when I was at my "worst" clinically speaking. She went above and beyond to make herself available when I was in crisis. Eventually, I expanded my counseling with Dr. Woods to include my partner and my mother. I found her extremely insightful in helping us work out our familial relationship. I think back on that time and I am grateful to have been under her care. My life could have taken a horrible turn had I not had the quality care I found as her client.

My daughter was diagnosed with bulimia, a very life threatening disease. She was evaluated by two of the best hospitals in the United Sates and the recommendation for my daughter was inpatient treatment based on her severe purging of 5 to 20 times a day. My eighteen year old daughter did not want to leave her boyfriend for the length of time it would take to recover from this disease. Desperate for help I set an appointment for my daughter with Frances Wood PhD. Within ten minutes into our appointment Frances Wood PhD told my daughter she did not need inpatient treatment for her bulimia and she said she had seen a lot worse. I did not think she made a professional evaluation. unfortunately my daughter continued therapy with her. Frances Wood PhD prescribed a medicine that had horrible side effects and my daughter could not even get out of bed. We were invited for a family visit with Frances Wood PhD. Within ten minutes Frances Wood PhD decided I the mother with three teenage daughters listening was a monster and a horrible parent. She said I had dissociate personality disorder, She accused me of brutally beating and abusing my children when they were young and having no memory of it, I am not a PhD but I think she would need more than ten minutes of time, multiple tests, and a few more visits with me to be able to diagnose such a complicated psychological disorder.. This was the first visit for my other two daughters and they had not even said a word about their child hood?? She accused me of dragging my children by their hair across the room when they were younger. None of my daughters had told her anything like these gross lies. One of my daughters frighten by his lady started crying, Frances Wood PhD was feeding absolute BS to my daughters, and with that being said she tried to set individual appointment for them. Frances Wood PhD charges over $100 an hour and I honestly felt like she was using the crude tactics of a shady used car salesman. My daughters had been caught drinking under age several times by the police. They had a period of probation and Frances Wood PhD said that it was normal for teenagers to sneak out of the house at 1:00 am and drink underage! She said the probation/ caseworker for Missouri are a joke as she tipped her head back and laughed. Frances Wood PhD said "the caseworker probably threaten my daughters with foster care where they would be sexually molested". I told Frances Wood PhD that the counselors I had for my daughters was very knowledgeable, kind and helped my daughters stop a potential drinking problem, Frances Wood PhD pointing her finger at me looking very angry said I was absurd! Frances Wood PhD had one insult after another toward me. I think Frances Wood PhD needs a lot of help herself,. I left her office and went directly to an attorney. Frances Wood PhD is one of most unprofessional women I ever have met. I should of known by the tacky dirty office and reception area! I have told my family and the girls grandparents of this awful experience and they were shocked beyond belief at this crazy therapist's accusations and angry behavior,

I am usually suspicious of reviews that rave about something - I suspect they are not quite true…read more So I have spent days trying to figure out how to write this review honestly without over praising... and I don't think I can. The truth is my experience with Dolly is the best experience with a medical professional I have ever had. We had a complex case that took over 12 weeks to resolve. If I had not worked with Dolly I am 100% sure I would not still be breastfeeding. The fact that I am now successful is nothing short of a miracle and a testament to Dolly's work and expertise. This time was one of the most vulnerable times of my life and Dolly was unendingly kind, supportive, and caring. She had to tell us several devastating things but throughout it she prioritized my needs and emotions. I remember telling my husband that I was so impressed with how she was very clearly an expert (almost 30 years experience with over 25,000 mamas!) and was incredibly connected to facts (not social media trends) and yet I felt like wayyy more than a patient to her. Even when I didn't want to prioritize my health or needs she insisted. There was a perfect combination of a confident professional with a sensitive and nurturing helper. She responded to me day and night helping me with my first time mama questions even when they were not related to breastfeeding. I am so sure I only feel as confident as I do as a mother because of her support. I seriously lost count of the amount of times we wondered if Dolly was right about something only to find out she absolutely was, even more than our pediatrician, our pediatric dentist, or our occupational therapist. She truly truly knows what she is talking about and I have never regretted following her recommendations. Working with her felt divinely orchestrated. I literally CANNOT recommend her enough. If you are looking for a lactation consultant, I have never been more confident in a recommendation. Dolly's help was LITERALLY priceless to us. With her you're in great hands!
