After doing a lot of research, we agreed to have our party in Montreal. When looking for ideas for help planning the bachelor's party, I came across Reddit user DrNitelife (real name Adriano) who had replied to many comments to other users in r/Montreal over the years about what to do in Montreal. He mentioned he runs a company that plans bachelors & bachelorette parties as well as private parties. I did some research and found out his company is Montreal Nightlife Tours (http://www.montrealnitelifetours.com/). I contacted Adriano and, in spite of my initial skepticism at hiring someone I had never met in a city we had never been to, Adriano and his team are 100% the real deal! He did an excellent job helping me plan the party between VIP service at Kamasutra and Le Rouge Bar, to dinner at Vargas and Rubs BBQ. The best part was he presented me with a list of options and let me run the options by the other groomsmen to decide on what we wanted to do. I'm adding this here in case anyone is in the same boat as I was an is curious if he's legit or not. Honestly, Adriano and his team took what would've been a solid bachelor's party and made it over the top awesome! Montreal Nitelife cranked it up to 11 like Spinal Tap! The groom pulled me aside after the weekend and told me that he couldn't believe how awesome the weekend was, and he really appreciated how hard we worked putting it together. On the positive side, the space is stunning and the food was excellent - both were highlights for us. However, our experience on the planning side raised several concerns. Communication and expectations were unclear from the outset. We initially believed we would be working with one team member, but later learned that a different person would be managing our wedding, which was not clearly communicated and created confusion early on. Throughout the process, we found the planner's approach to be rigid and not particularly collaborative. We were open to guidance, but often felt that our preferences were dismissed in favor of doing things a specific way. During our tasting, for example, some of our menu selections (chosen directly from the venue's own offerings) were criticized as not being "classy" or "elegant," which felt inappropriate and unnecessarily condescending. There were also multiple instances that felt unprofessional, including meetings starting late and recurring interruptions during scheduled time together. We also encountered a significant issue regarding payment transparency for a vendor booked through the venue. A deposit we paid was invoiced as a payment toward the band, but was not fully applied as such, and this was not disclosed at the time of payment. The matter was only resolved after escalation. While it is clear that the team is capable of executing events, our experience did not reflect the level of professionalism, transparency, or care that is essential when planning a wedding. A wedding is not just another event, and the planning process requires a level of respect, communication, and client focus that we did not consistently experience here. Due to these concerns, we ultimately chose to move forward with a different venue, as we did not feel confident continuing with the planning process. Based on our experience, we would not recommend this venue for weddings. Couples should proceed with caution and ensure they have a clear, documented understanding of vendor payments, responsibilities, and expectations before committing!

I was terrified it would be like some nasty swanson microwave meal but it was actually very pleasing to the tastebuds! The chicken was tender and not overcooked, the rhubarb apple sauce was more like a gravy than an applesauce (like I was dreading) and the monte carlo potato it came with was very good and not dry. The mushroom bouchée was delicious, perfect texture and flavour. The salad tasty, but much like a fancy coleslaw. The bread fresh, moist and soft, not tough or chewy. I didn't try the dessert but it looked good, maybe some kinda chocolate cake/brownie. Portions were decent for the price and quality (not too little not too much). The one thing I didn't like was that my colleague who set it up felt the need to stay by the serving table all night to explain the dishes and what main went with what side. I didn't ask her why she did that because I needed her help to know which dishes I was supposed to take, so I'm assuming the others did too. I was incredibly impressed-- I could not have asked for a more professional, organized, efficient and detail oriented team. Jocelyn, the head manager, met with me to see the location and figure out how to arrange tables and chairs, both for the food prep, catering as well as guest seating. He and his crew arrived early the day of the reception to set everything up. Their work was impeccable. The food was delicious, the presentation was beautiful, the servers were amiable from start to finish. They even helped clean up at the end of the night, packing leftovers and covering them with plastic wrap that they had brought just in case. I received innumerable compliments from my guests on everything from the tasty hors d'oeuvres to the serving staff's cheerful disposition. I would absolutely recommend this catering company to anyone, my experience with them was fantastic. They were just phenomenal!!!

The International buffet was eclectic from Hunan dumplings to garlic shrimp and shish kabobs. The food was very tasty and decor nice.
