I immediately noticed a newfoundland safety rescue presentation and couldn't miss it. There were at least 10 dogs set up for various rescue scenes. It was interactive for children and a sight for dog lovers. Pets and slobber came free. The village experience was interesting, the ship tour and interactive chant/rope pull was also fun to watch. Food was delectable even if water just couldn't stay cold in the heat. We missed the boat ride by a couple minutes so caught the newfoundland show again (not the least bit mad). I'm a little old for a late night Lego movie, but the set up would be perfect for children! I can't wait to go back with the younger kids in our family.

While the ticket prices are steep, everything is preserved amazingly well. We spent two hours there and could have definitely spent more if it wasn't so humid. I want to say this because I don't see or hear anyone else doing it. I have never met or seen a more dedicated group of people working so hard to save an organization. I am so impressed with each person I have met there. They give so much to keep what may be the best kept secret in Norwich going! I think you should check them out! I attended a movie night recently and they were showing the movie recently released about the life of Steven Hawking. The theater was surprisingly comfortable and the quality of the viewing and sound were superb. Okay, the seats were not like a movie theater. But you could even buy popcorn. And the most surprising thing of all is that not one of these people gets paid to do what they do. And when I went to a meeting with some friends tonight at the gallery I got a preview of a fabulous show the volunteers were mounting for the art faculty of the local community college. If you enjoy viewing fine art, you do not want to miss this show! Since I first moved into Norwich I was told that downtown was to be avoided. But I have been there and eaten wonderful foods and walked all over and been in some fabulous small shops and not a single person ever threatened to mug me. No one even came near. I think it is time to dispense with a rumor that causes more suffering than anything else in Norwich. Check out downtown for yourself and don't miss the NAC's doings!

Nearly two years ago, we discovered, Bank Square Books closed up and moved to 80 Stonington Road, about a mile and a half from its previous location. We were surprised but very happy it is still around and, we hope, flourishing. The new location offers more interior space and better, easier parking. The result is more room for customer browsing, and, we suppose, more room for more books and stuff like cards, games etc. It's fun to stroll around the store but gosh, it sure feels different from what we expected. We wish the store well, of course; we'll keep coming back.

When I first walked inside I was under the impression that this is a tiny bookstore, the further I walked the more books I would discover. This isn't a tiny bookstore, it is moderately sized. I loved the variety of books available. There's fiction, history, brand new releases, kids, and specific interests such as birds. In addition to the books, they also have some giftable items. There's wrapping paper and cards here also. They also have comfy chairs and couches so you can get comfy while reading. This is such a beautiful bookstore that I'm glad to support in downtown Mystic.
