We had to sit at a long table next to a bunch of strangers, so not much privacy--but it was kind of nice to peep over and check out what other people were eating before deciding what to order. ;) I decided to bypass the usual mix of Thai curry dishes to chose something unfamiliar and was pleasantly surprised by the Indian-style vegetarian lentils with papadum--which totally reminded me of a giant shrimp chip--yum! Fragrant and filling with a spicy kick, although it wasn't listed as "scharf" on the menu. Coat rack on the side was a plus, as there was no room to stuff our coats on the crowded bench. A variety of pan-Asian foods, ranging from fairly-real Chinese to westernized Chinese to Thai and Indian. The fried rice is fine, the fried egg rolls tiny but tasty, the chicken satay savory. The dim sum sampler was a mixed bag --- good shrimp shumai, but forgettable soup-style dumplings. The shrimp wonton soup was quite good. The Indian appetizer sampler was just plain strange, with the spicy patties giving a "fake meat" rather than "real veggie" vibe. Good chutney, though. As with most food in this style, hot and fresh is better --- the half hour tram ride home definitely took the punch out of some of the dishes. Eat there or eat close to there. read more

I've been to Lily's a few times since it's right in my neighborhood. Most of the dishes I've tried so far are pretty run in the mill. The Pad Si Yu is quite bland and the beef is over-cooked and not very flavorful either. The Pad Thai Gai is a bit better but again not as flavorful as what I'm used to. The chicken and shrimp fried rice are not bad if you juice it up with some lime wedges. The curry dishes are better since they actually have some taste. The atmosphere of the restaurant is very lively and crowded on most evenings. The chefs cook in an open kitchen behind the serving counter at lightening speed to feed all the hungry diners. The wait staff is friendly and efficient. My 3* rating for this restaurant is composed of 2* for food + 1* for service. My hunt for a great Asian restaurant in Zurich continues.... read more

My boyfriend and I ordered take-away here. For 19.50 chf we got a large amount of Red Curry with chicken and a slightly smaller portion of rice. We walked in, ordered, and it was ready within a few minutes. The Red Curry was absolutely delicious, and I would definitely come back for more. It was kinda spicy, creamy and rich. It went wonderfully with the rice. The interior is very modern and beautiful, and even the menu at the front is really nice. I'd probably prefer to order take-away every time, just because it's fast, you can eat where you want, and it's cheaper. For 19.50 it's definitely worth it, at least for the red curry. It was enough and probably the best Red Curry I've tasted in a long time. read more

Came here on a busy Friday evening for dinner expecting a long wait and was pleasantly surprised when we were seated immediately...because they have these long tables which you share with other patrons...nice. The edamame was served hot with a sprinkling of salt...oh so good...and our choice of Tamil curry chicken which came with 1 roti(indian bread) and rice and Pad See Lew was tasty and quite filling. This was my favorite restaurant in Zurich the first time I lived here back in 2006 to 2008. I went there almost every week! Now that I'm back in Zurich I finally came back and it's still yummy! The best Pad Thai in the city! I So great place to get asian food for a good quality and reasonable price! Also the service is fast and normally you don't need to wait loud to get seated. Lily's is a nice option when you want to eat Asian cuisine but you want to try several different cuisines. I like the atmosphere, though it's quite loud. The prices are fair for the quality. The service is sometimes a little too busy, what makes them sound rude or rough to non-German speakers. I had Japanese soba noodles and kimchi the last time I went and they were both very tasty and not too spicy. There was a Vietnamese beef meal that looked really yummy but you had to wait an extra 20 min for it. I like the security camera video shown on the back wall, adds a twist to the place. read more

When wandering about Zurich old school style, sans instant iPhone internet, my chap and I found solace in this fantastic spot. It was getting late in the afternoon, we at least needed coffee, and discovered upon entering that we also needed Pad Thai. (The smell alone tempted us to eat here.) A good thing for tourists to know is that they spoke English with no problem, so there was no embarrassing fumble for how to say 'have you got WiFi' or 'can we have a coffee'. Wonderful! (And before you judge, I am eternally ashamed I don't speak a second language.) The kitchen is open, so you can see everything being cooked freshly, and the wait is minimal, for hungry folks reading. The prices, as with most places we later discovered, are much more than I'd pay back in the UK. What we considered a cheap evening meal budget turned out to be lunch, but then, it is Zurich! The service was swift, helpful, and friendly, and the WiFi is free - although we needed to move to the front to use it as the signal drops out near the back. The heavy curtains on the entrance did a wonderful job of keeping the heat in too, so don't worry about sitting near the door. The food, it turns out, was some of the best I've tasted. That Pad Thai was so fresh and delicious; the ingredients were cooked wonderfully, and the chicken was of a good quality. All in all, despite having planned to save cash, I'm glad we chose to eat here as the main meal of the day. Quick, tasty, healthy and a lovely space. Parfait! read more

An OK place to have some asian food! Is at Langstrasse. An asian (modern) asian restaurant. The concept is that you sit on long tables together with strangers. The food is good and served very fast. It is for me more a fancy fast food asian restaurant. A good alternative on sunday evenings if you don't get a table in the area. At lilly's you can get fast a table (as the service is fast). For my opion still a bit pricy to have fast asian soup. read more

What's good: fast, friendly service, take out in 10 minutes from time of order, the Phad Thai, decor (unless you are bothered by noise). The Bun Gah is amazing. The soba noodle dish is to be avoided. Great Edamame. Summertime they have fantastic fresh salads. Amazing selection of interesting, organic teas and inspired juices made fresh. What needs improvement: the curries all just taste like salt, piping hot take-out dishes are served in plastic containers to guarantee maximum transfer of plastic softeners and other toxins (don't do take out unless you bring your own containers), price is premium for Langstrasse (I find the Indian place on Zollstrasse to be better quality, flavor and price and for take-away they don't serve in plastic). All in all, definitely worth eating here if you want a quick, good quality meal for around 18CHF per main. read more

Open late - fast service and delicious food. Asian menu with some fusion - Thai - Curry etc... Can get pretty full - it's popular but on a Tuesday dining late no problem - open until 11:00. It's on a busy street parking hard to find but not impossible. Staff friendly. read more

Great Asian restaurant with reasonable prices and a fast service. The yellow curry is my favorite dish here and probably my favorite curry in town here at Lily's, although there is probably many more places out there that I have not tried yet.. Overall, I like the way the restaurant is decorated though, the whole concept seems thought-through and the interior / menus / webpage is designed with an eye for detail. Rice has to be ordered separately and is also charged separately, which always seems weird to me, since I cannot imagine eating the curry by itself. Take-away prices are cheaper and here the rice is included in the price, which makes it even stranger, but what can you do.. Will definitely come back again and again here :) read more

Check out the Tamil Tiger Chicken Curry, it is plenty spicy but they have a nice selection of dried and pickled chilis if you are feeling adventurous. read more

I ate at Lily's last night (Saturday) and I have to say that it was one of the worst restaurant experiences I have had in Zürich. The waiter who served us told us it was his first day and had no clue about the menu. On top of this he was stressed and in a very bad mood, and even used bad language in front of other customers. As for the food, it was one of the poorest Thai Massaman curries I have ever had, too much cream and very thin sauce, and the meat was very tough and stringy and had clearly been overcooked. We will not be going back there. Ah Hua (next to Volkshaus) is far, far better in every respect. read more

Pan-Asian food restaurant. They have nice food, it is easy to find a place in a table and the service is nice and fast. Definitely a great option due to its location if you don't want to have fast food. It is a bit crowded and noisy and prices are not cheap but normal zurich standards, expect 30 chf for a dish and a beer. read more

I liked the atmosphere, its fast passed and loud with a few low set tables and some high set communal seating. Their menu had a wide selection of South east Asian food; mainly Thai. I tried their Jaffna black curry: I liked the presentation, thought that the price was reasonable but of course having lived in Sri Lanka for over 12 years I am not the easiest critic when it comes to curries from there... I would have it again and for someone who is not used to many spices I could imagine it being very flavorful however, i am still on the hunt for the best Sri Lakan curries in Zürich! read more

This really a good restaurant. A bit to expensive to my opinion. I'm a fan of asian food. There's not to much disches on the menu, but what's on the menu was good. The atmosphere was good, relaxt and smoke free! I'm really a fan of this restaurant, because i like the Thai food at the most.
