Oh my gosh what a fabulous new playground in Grafton! I think it opened last year (?) but recently…read morewe made our first visit after seeing it shared online. It's so vast, colorful, and inviting to kids of all ages. We have a toddler, and our nephew who is a similar age, was also with us. Sometimes playgrounds can be a little too high/advanced for their age, but All My Friends Playground has a wide selection of areas to play on, including lower and less intense obstacles. Tons of slides and swings, climbing gyms, merry go round, teeter totter, and more. Plus there is a massive (and wonderfully colorful) butterfly that spreads shade over the middle of the playground. Other great parts about this park: it's completely fenced in by a lovely pickets that are all engraved by local families. It keeps all the kiddos safe and contained. Also the squishy flooring is a huge plus. It's so comfy to run around on and makes for a safer place if anyone falls. Really love the creativity and fun that went into creating this new play area. Thanks Grafton, we'll be back!

I was here to check out the Cedarburg Covered Bridge but I also took the time to walk around this…read morelovely park. So let's combine both into one and here we are. The bridge was built by the Town of Cedarburg to replace a number of periodically washed out bridges. Pine logs were cut and milled in Baraboo, fitted into place in a lattice truss construction with 3x10 inch planks secured by 2 inch hardwood pins, eliminating the use of nails or bolts, and floored by 3 inch planking. The Ozaukee County Board in 1940 coted to assume the preservation and maintenance of the bridge. While the bridge is not open for vehicular traffic and there is a concrete and steel bridge adjacent, you can absolutely walk the bridge or even bicycle it. The nearby park has benches and picnic tables and a building with a picnic shelter complete with power outlets and public restrooms. There's plenty of space in the park to spread out and enjoy the second, smaller bridge. Plenty of parking. This is a great spot for your photo ops and in fact a couple was getting their engagement photos done here when I visited. [Review 20675 overall - 245 in Wisconsin - 1656 of 2023.]

The hiking trails…read moreare well maintained and offer beautiful views of the shoreline, making it an easy and enjoyable walk for all levels. The park has a nice pavilion area and clean, well-kept bathrooms, which makes it comfortable for longer visits. Throughout the trails and overlooks, there are several benches dedicated in memory of loved ones. These add a very touching and reflective feel to the experience and make it more than just a hike--it's a place to slow down and appreciate the moment. Overall, it's a beautiful, quiet place for nature, reflection, and lake views, and definitely worth a visit if you're in the area.

Great hike in lovely Port Washington WI, just north of Milwaukee. Ample free parking. Not to say it…read moredoesn't get crowded, but it wasn't bad when we were there on a weekend. There is a paved trail which isn't too long, but is ADA compliant so that's a plus. We did a three mile loop, checking out the bluffs and taking the stairs down to the secluded little beach. Lots of poison ivy....which is normal to the area, but really it's best to avoid it by staying on trail and covering up. Seemed like leashed and/or well behaved dogs were welcome. Worth checking out.

The park features a bandshell, children's playground, pavilion, bridge and athletic fields. There is also access to fish on the adjoining river. Our favorite spot at this park was the pond. Huge bullfrogs to be found. It's a huge park, and would be great for a family picnic or bbq. There are plenty of picnic tables and grills.

Veterans Memorial Park is a great little spot to stop and enjoy the Milwaukee River, especially if…read moreyou're already out exploring Grafton. It's right along the river, close to downtown, and not far from the Ozaukee Interurban Trail, so it's an easy place to stop while you're out for a walk or bike ride. It's on the smaller side, but there's quite a bit packed into the space, including a playground, a really nice basketball court, gazebo, benches, fishing spots, and areas to launch a canoe or kayak. You can even rent canoes here. You'll have to goose step around what the geese leave behind, but it's a nice little place to stop and take a break. The river is still recovering from when the dam broke, so it hasn't quite come back to what it was before. With the recent rain, though, there's still plenty of water coming through. There's also a newer shelter available to rent with both indoor and outdoor seating. It's brand new and really nice looking, but my one disappointment is that it's considerably more expensive than the old shelter. I don't see it being used very often, so I wish they had kept the price point a little more affordable. Overall, it's a great little part of Grafton to enjoy the river for a while.

Garrison's Glen - A lovely tribute and gesture to a young man who passed away…read more Location 2231 Pioneer Road - Mequon, WI 53092 Size 22 Acres Description This is a nice park if you are looking for a short walk. But even though it's small, treasures for the eyes await visitors. The paths are well maintained grass paths. They keep them mowed very well. They have bird houses within in the glen erected. There can be quite a bit of activity from birds so it's a great place to bird watch if that's your jam, or jelly. Tons of trees, most I cannot identify because I've never bothered to learn. But! It is an excellent mix of old trees and newer trees. There are some absolutely stunning trees to see. I took pictures but it doesn't do it justice. This property has maybe 4-5 paths you can take which often overlap one another. It's very peaceful here. There is a large bog? Swamp? Marsh? Wetland? Whatever the proper nomenclature is. There is a big really, really , really wet area in the middle with lots of wetland plants. Points of Interest There is a multitude of plant life. Asters, Wild Cucumber, Jewelweed, False Sunflowers, Horsetail, Golden Alexander, Dogwood with some of the most vibrant red branches I have even seen and grapes. Like, grapes taking over the place. It's Planet of the grapes there. The birds! So many. Be Aware It is always wet. Always. There's a swamp in the middle so be prepared for soggy, muddy ground. There are occasionally branches hanging down in the middle of the walking paths so keep your eyes sharp! Mosquitos - Holy f-ing hell mosquitos. They are more ferocious than strippers in Dothan Alabama. The Entry/Exit way. It is seriously step and there is some erosion from where the asphalt meets the gravel and if you go over it too fast it will cause your car to hit the pavement HARD. Dog Friendly? Yes- As long as you keep them on the leash and clean up after them. They even provide a trash bin at the entrance so you can throw the brown sausages away and not even have to worry about taking them home in your car to dispose. Vixen Says There were no gila monsters, so that gets a paw up. Lots of good sniffs, another paw awarded. Delicious  grass so another paw. Three paws and a bark!

This is a smaller beach located on the south end of port Washington wi. It is located next to the…read moreelectrical plant but offers great views of Lake Michigan and nesting Ospreys on the electric plant roof. This beach has been designated for kayak launch and hosts a life jacket caddy made by a local Eagle Scout. The volunteers of the alliance for the Great Lakes and several local businesses help to keep this beach debris free. There are Several life preserve rings located along this beach on stands in case of emergency. There are sections of this beach where the bluff has erroded and slid down, but there are several for paths carved through them. There is a pathway leading north from this beach into a bird preserve and the lower beach park that has benches and a gazebo. There is also a veterans memorial. A great place to spend time soaking up the sun and if your brave enough to dip your toes in lake Michigans chilly waters, maybe a swim too.

The address on Yelp is incorrect; their new location is 890 Badger Circle…read more We have many months of cold weather here in WI, so we are always in search of indoor play areas for our little ones to burn off all that energy; Just 4 Fun is the perfect place for them to do that from the large Rainbow Play system with several slides and climbing walls. The layout inside is perfect too as you can see your little one from pretty much any part of the room. There are two areas set off to the side of the large room that the really tiny kids can play. All of their toys and equipment were in good shape. Our little ones really had a good time and asked to come back.
