I didn't believe that Physical Therapy could relieve my pain. I had just spent four days in the…read morehospital where they did X ray's and MRI's they ran blood test's and taught me how to walk up and down stair's as if I were permanently disabled. I was eventually given prescription's for a couple of controlled substances and the nurse's wished me well as they wheeled me out of the hospital. On a follow up appointment to the spine surgeon's office I was shown my MRI. My spine looked like there was half of a round-about in the lower portion. It was surgery, controlled substances or Physical Therapy. My Internist recommended "Restore Physical Therapy". I wasn't crazy about the Idea but what did I have to lose? I had some reticence going in to my first visit but was quickly put at ease by the causal yet professionalism of the office. There was no hospital like regimen but rather an interested, caring staff. After the course of care was explained to me and I did a just a couple of the exercises I felt an easing of my pain. The following sessions and my work at home gave me the relief I was looking for. I'm am now drug free, no surgery needed and a believer in the real benefits of Physical Therapy as practiced at "Restore Physical Therapy". I give Oliver and the staff at "Restore Physical Therapy" my highest recommendation.

The 3 I've seen so far all have Doctorates in PT, and one has gone on to get specialized training in massage and rolfing. They will spend the first visit assessing the problem area and then will work with you to come up with a program to improve the problem, address the pain and strengthen the area. They've moved to a new space which is quite nice. It's a large open space with all the needed equipment to work with you. Mario the owner has done a great job with making it look welcoming while also being functional. The front desk staff is efficient and will help you get scheduled, make sure your insurance is covering you and will send you your bills / receipts to your phone or email. All and all an efficient operation. I made the mistake of trying a different place recently and it did not go well - the scheduling, insurance approval, communication was all done poorly - so this is something not to be taken lightly!

Coming in at a pain level in my lower back at 1000+...it was (WAS) that bad. When I left after learning exercises to work at home with, my pain level was about a 5! Not bad after my first visit of therapy. I am now at my 6th session, pain level 0.5! I rate it that because I am still learning to 'empowering' myself. Raj, Reenu, Lindsay, & Barb are wonderful therapists. They really want to know HOW you feel, what your pain level is, and also ask you if you would like to try different exercises or pain therapy (such as Dry Needling). I have had dry needling, and it really helps my personal situation. The therapists will ask if you are afraid of needles. Since I am not, I can tell you, Dry Needling is not painful but very helpful. They are not really 'needles' but very fine filaments that I had inserted into my lower back. It has helped break up the stiffness in my lower back. I must say though, that if you mention another pain, they will try to ease the pain. I mentioned that I couldn't turn my neck much, Raj came in and worked wonders on my whole back (it's all connected, you know), well, I can stand straight, turn my neck. With that therapy, even my lumbar back has eased my pain to a 0! If you need physical therapy, I highly recommend the Metro Parkway site to visit for your back pain. And I say this place 'Empowers You;? I have learned good, gentle exercises to do at home. That is "YOUR" Empowerment. You now learn how to bend, pick up things and do your exercises that help you live a pain-free life! Wow! Amazing!!! I can brag all day long about these wonderful therapists!!
