Unfortunately I have a long relationship with CP, and it isn't good. But I take responsibility for…read moremy last go-round with them. I was a member of CP in San Marcos CA twelve years ago. That studio, which was in North San Diego County was one of only two, the other was in downtown San Diego. They were the first CP studios, before the company sold out and started franchising. The studio was huge, the instructors were really good, and the only merchandise they offered were water bottles and a few singlets. I loved working out there but then one my cats became very sick and on a Saturday morning, when I was signed up for a class, I called my vet who said she could come over to euthanize Peanut so she wouldn't suffer anymore. I canceled my class but it wasn't within the 12-hour time window, so they billed me $10, or maybe it was $15, I can't remember for sure now. But I do remember the manager's response. It was essentially: "Too bad." She had no empathy at all, could have cared less. I moved back to MI in 2022 and in April of this year I joined the Club Pilates in Rochester Hills because it's less than five minutes from my house. I was a little, no more than a little, unhappy with the fact that the studio looks a lot like a boutique. Most of the front area is filled up with clothing and accessories. The studio is so cramped that walking between reformers and chairs is similar to walking down church aisles. There's about an inch, maybe two between the equipment to your right and your legs and the equipment to the left and your legs. One of the instructors spent the entire class standing in one spot, playing with her hair. Another instructor, who was pretty good, would often spend most of the class at the back of the studio talking to a couple of the members about her life. Instructors often had trouble with the mic/sound system, so it was sometimes difficult to hear their instructions. Sometimes the music was so loud that you couldn't hear the instructions. I spoke with two members who told me that they'd been injured in a class. I signed up for a three-month membership that I understood to be a trial. I signed up in the studio, everything was done electronically, as most things are nowadays, which is fine. However, I never received the contract via email, although I was told that I would. I was taking six, sometimes seven classes a week, had signed up for classes through the 24th of the month of July. Then I had a family emergency, that required me to be out-of-town for an indefinite period of time. I canceled all the classes, and notified the studio via email that I was canceling, that I was going to have to be out-of-town on and off for weeks and wouldn't be renewing my membership. (The membership started April 22 and went through July 22). I did tell them in the message that when I could start taking classes again I would be going to McEntire Pilates, because I preferred smaller classes. Club Pilates billed me for another month, through August 22: $260. I've gone round and round with the manager, and admit that I referred to her as a callous "you-know-what", to no avail. Over the past couple of days I've done research on CP parent company, Xpotential. What I found out isn't pretty. Hundreds and hundreds of lawsuits have been filed, all over the country, including a suit that the FTC filed, that the company lost. Club Pilates is, as many former members have described on Reddit, Facebook and other platforms/social media, a predatory company that cares only about making money. DO NOT JOIN CLUB PILATES! Find a small, local studio that's focused on you as a person, not as a consumer, a number. Feel free to send me an email if you want more info about my experience(s).

The gym is locked 24/7 and only members or staff have access. This makes me extremely safe and at ease when I'm working out early in the morning or late at night and I am one of the few people at the gym. Although the HotWorx app itself could use some updating I do really like that it shows each level you hit based on how many calories you've burned. I feel like tracking my levels and my calories burned compared to the local leadership board motivates me each time I'm in the gym!

Even though HOTWORX has the same requirements, I don't have to wear my mask when working out. My work out is in an enclosed sauna pod, it's just me. I have tried Hot Cycle (sauna temperature is between 125-130f) a 15 minute exercise that normally isn't to difficult then add the dry heat. It is rough. Like a knucklehead after doing Hot cycle, I then tried hot yoga. Mistake, huge mistake. I nearly passed out about 10 minutes in. Hot yoga is 45 minutes and after doing hot cycle for 15 minutes may have been to much. You need an appointment which is easy thanks to their app and its open 24 hours.

My Summer Haven!!!!…read more I found Yoga Planet Studio on Groupon and I tried the Unlimited Yoga for a month like Lauren S. A month has passed since I used the Groupon and I still find myself coming back for more. I also managed to buy a 3 months Unlimited Yoga Pack for $199 ($100 Off Summer Special). I am currently addicted to the YinShape Hot Vinyasa Class, a class in a very hot room (around 85-90 F) and the place gets hotter as the class gets bigger. I usually create a puddle of sweat around so I always bring a yoga mat towel on top of my yoga mat to avoid slipping. Face towels are also provided in the studio. Another favorite class of mine is the Slow Flow Candlelight. Everyone should try this. The class is so serene and soothing with candles spread all over the bamboo floor. How relaxing is that??? Giuliana is my favorite instructor so far. She teaches most of my classes. She sets the ambience for the practice and motivates you to breathe (to achieve Victoria's Breath aka ujjayi breathing aka oceanic breath) throughout the practice. Giuliana also encourages you to create a modified pose when the yoga pose is far too advanced. She's very helpful in guiding you with the poses, especially for beginners. Jackie also does a great job teaching. She has a very calm personality that draws you in thus creating a very tranquil mood. The studio is very eco-friendly. From the cool bamboo wood floors to the zero VOC paint on the wall, the whole place is environmentally and socially responsible. The studio is also equipped with 2 restrooms/changing rooms. The first class is free for the new students and mats can be rented for a dollar a month. I recommended the studio to everyone!!!! =p Lokah Samastah Sukhino Bhavantu. Namaste!

I have really enjoyed the classes, the atmosphere and, most importantly, the instructors. I have had Giuliana for the majority of my classes, and she does a wonderful job at providing instruction on how to easily flow into the postures and creates a wonderful mood and focus during the classes. I've also had Jackie for a Hot Vinyasa class (she kicked my ass during that class, but in a really good way) and Lindsay for the Ashtanga Elements class. Another great feature about the studio is that everything is made with recycled, chemical-free and toxic-free materials. The studio offers a pretty wide variety of classes at convenient times throughout the day and evening. Also, if you attend a class and find some of the postures difficult, the instructors always offer different, easier options so you can keep with the flow of the class. I've only been practicing here for a few weeks, but the studio has already offered two great discounts on packages. If you're interested in trying yoga for the first time or simply want to try a new studio, keep an eye on the company's website - it posts when discounts and specials are available.
