The camp my daughter attended went through the basics of horse back riding, along with tack and grooming. Her camp was three days a week for three weeks and commenced with a 'horse show' and family picnic at the end. The stables and pastures are very nice, and the staff appeared very knowledgable and care about what they do and the horses they tend to. Overall it is a nice facility and my daughter is eager to go back. While I can't speak to the boarding, the place looks top notch and has been in business for over 50 years.

I would come back here to stay in a minute. The skies in this area are beautiful and huge. The horizons are clear, with very few trees to obstruct the view. Every single night we had amazing skies, whether on account of storms you could see building for miles away, or clear skies that were so very dark and starry. This area is pretty remote; there is not much in the way of towns unless you want to drive about 40 miles, and no light domes to disturb the viewing near the horizon. Note: there is no Wi-Fi here and cell phone connections may be problematic as well; one of our party has AT&T and had a very spotty connection, another of us had Verizon, and had good service there. I have T-Mobile and no service at all while at the ranch. Just something to be aware of. The facilities here are top notch. The kitchen is well-stocked with the amenities, but you should plan to bring your own food. This is a working ranch. Therefore, you can help the family with ranch duties, or you can horse back ride, or any number of other activities, such as fishing in the pond behind the lodge. Our hosts, Bobbie and Scott, were very cordial and attentive. They were perfect. I want them to get business because this place is so wonderful. As I said, I would come back here in a minute. I will have lots of fun memories of this place long into the future.

It was cold, so prepare accordingly as the indoor stalls and riding area is not heated. We did a brief tour of the stable, and then the group was broken in two three groups. They got to ride 3 different horses, guided by some young girls for about an hour and then on to the cake and presents. It was a unique opportunity for my kids to ride. I was unaware this was even a thing - and it's about 25 minutes from Omaha in Blair/Bennington off County Rd 41.

A turnoff onto a non-descript gravel road leads you to the picturesque grounds of the American Legacy Complex. Horseback riding lessons are offered here and they have quite the facility. Both indoor and outdoor areas are here and several horses to learn to ride on. My son has taken a few lessons here and has enjoyed it. Safety comes first as my son was required to wear a helmet. Also, they learn to brush the horses towards the end of the lesson. The staff here is friendly and helpful. They also have horse events from time to time where they have rides, contests, etc. I haven't been to one yet with my son but plan to in the near future.

the prices are insane. i get that the owner has to pay bills but $300 for lessons and $700 and…read moreslowly goes up a month for boarding is outrageous. their barn is filled with dust, and now let's talk about the lesson trainer. If your just starting to get into horses he will teach until you get the hang of it. i've done horse lessons before going to EEC and he lessened me for maybe a month and just let me do anything, he was on his phone month of the time. Now let's talk about the horses. in December on 25' a horse named graham passed from colic and the owner got informed about this many times and still didn't do anything. With the money she gets from students and boarders she could have helped but instead wastes it on vacations. The trainer is also their hoof trainer and i've reminded him many times to cut them and still hasn't until 2 weeks after i've told him. the owner also said this horse is going to be fine with his feet like this. The trainer also has his horses there and rides them for 60 days and sells them to the owner just for students to break them more. his horses he buys from auctions as the one in the picture below with the baby is very skinny. In her stall there was no water nor hay/food for her and it smelled bad in there. I used to board at EEC and my horse barely got hay/ he got a flake of hay morning and night. Honestly that's not enough for a horse if i'm paying over $600 just to get a flake of hay, some shavings and a stall. please do not go here!!

Only left since we bought an acreage and has room for horses…read more Lisa the trainer was extremely helpful with all my horse questions and with a lame/sick horse she went the extra mile to help me. I've had 2 nice show horses with her and she's probably one of the kindest trainers I've had(I've had a lot!) I boarded on the inside and even on a budget she was willing to help me navigate ways to save money during show season etc. Some of my lifelong friends were made at this barn! Everyone was SO helpful and willing to help made going to the barn so much fun! Cara the owner always was willing to listen if I needed something different for my horses and saw her make helpful accommodations for different boarders. They both were amazing and helpful and all about SAFETY which I appreciated if I brought my kids along! BEST PLACE ever to board and top notch care I never once worried about my horses care there. I will miss their guidance now that I have to do it by myself now!!
