I thought her stock was wonderful and prices were reasonable. I received my cloisonné and also two wood display stands in a timely fashion, just as purchased, and packaged extremely well, which was a relief due to their delicate construction, especially being shipped across the country. I would certainly purchase more items when the opportunity arises and would love to visit the gallery,as well as the Manhattan Art and Antiques Center where it is located on each trip to New York. HTBAF is a great opportunity to hear interesting stories, get to know warm, funny people, and share laughter and wine in a cozy, charming place. I returned to Open Source for cHURCH of Monika, a monthly artist's talk that happens on Sunday mornings. Then I discovered the Soapbox race in the summer! I had so much fun cheering for the different groups of kids. It was great seeing so many neighbors out on the block having fund together. Open Source has so much to offer: art installations, arts education for kids, storytelling, community dinners, and more. I think it should be called Open HEART. When you're there, you're welcomed in, you're treated like family. It's a wonderful addition to the community.

Important to visit!…read more Easily overlooked when going down 5th Ave. since its entrance is on 79th St., the blue/gold Ribbons of Resilience hung on the iron fence surrounding this Ukrainian Institute of America's 1890s Gilded Age mansion home caught my eye. Below the U.S. and Ukrainian flags out front, the New York City #StandwithUkraine does not fully prepare you for the moving images that await! Entrance to UIA requires only a donation. Within this beautiful landmark building, adjacent to painted Ukrainian Easter Eggs you'll find moving "Fallen Artists of Ukraine: In Memoriam," telling each story to remember them, who they were. In that same hall, a signed flag by the 72nd Separate Mechanized Brigade named after the Black Zaporizhians Reconnaissance Platoon on October 25, 2023. In the 3rd Floor outstanding "SAINTS" exhibit, (on until March 30th and hopefully extended,) amazing large format photo portraits by Sasha Maslov present other heroes. The shared description of what makes each special adjoin exceptional images, breathtaking down to the pores in their faces. Please pass on this review to call attention to UIA's honor to those individuals and Ukraine's struggle for freedom, defending themselves against Russia's invasion! If possible, make it to UIA to show support! If you can't make it, will be posting pics of all these heroes in my review to check out. Note - UIA has more than these war-related exhibits. Having purchased the building in 1955, it now also has a floor with painted Ukrainian historical portraits, as well as exhibits highlighting Ukrainian artists and William Dzus, a Founder and Benefactor of UIA, who invented self-locking fasteners used in airplane construction. My friend and I were exploring the Upper East Side a few weeks ago and decided to stop in for a…read morevisit at the Ukrainian Institute of America after wandering upon it! The Ukrainian Institute of America is a nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting the art, music, and literature and the Ukrainian diaspora. It hosts cultural events and is open to the public for visits to see the building and their exhibits. (It's free to visit but they appreciate and suggest donations!) The Institute is housed within a beautiful UES mansion; it's worth a visit alone to see the building! Gorgeous. They also had several interesting exhibits when we were there: "Alexander Archipenko: The Augustin and Maria Sumyk Collection," "Vasyl Diadyniuk: Historical Portraits," "Teura: An Intimate Portrait of Sofia Yablonska," and "The Pysanka: A Symbol of Hope." I really enjoyed our visit. The exhibits were interesting, and I felt like I learned a bit about Ukraine, its history, its culture, and the Ukrainian diaspora even over a short visit. Worth a visit if you're in the area!
