Multi-purpose public park in a residential neighborhood. Lincoln Park has a small, free, public parking lot that is accessed by a single-lane, shared road from Fernside Drive. Street parking is also available on Fernside and at the other entrance on High Street. The park has: a baseball diamond that serves as the home of the Alameda High School Baseball Team, the field also hosts many soccer games on the weekends, a public swimming pool - one home of the Alameda Gators Swim Team, a bocce ball court, bbq and picnic tables, a recently remodeled play-ground, a full-length recently resurfaced basketball court with string nets, a handball court, an enclosed area with exercise contraptions, and 4 pickleball courts for the fastest growing sport in the US. The 4 pickleball courts were converted from 2 tennis courts and have permanent but recently replaced nets. Surfaces are very worn with numerous cracks and can get gritty from sand/dirt blown from the 2 adjacent bocce ball courts. Play is from 8am to dusk and players range from beginner to advanced with mostly intermediate players. Players are friendly and receptive to visitors and beginners. Prospective players put their 4 paddles on the fence under the numbers 1-8 and venture on to court as a 4 person group when courts become available. On occasion, a yellow pickleball with a hook is put above beginner paddles in search of other beginner players. The recently renovated playground has structures to climb, slide, swing on and has a new bark surface. The new structure has nearby benches allowing parents to sit and watch their children play. A rose garden and a grove of Redwood trees are on the High Street side of the park for those looking for some Zen time. Beautiful spot for pictures and picnicking below the redwood trees. FYI - there is a defibrillator in the swim center. Public and clean restrooms are located next to the small parking lot. Restrooms are well maintained as the park maintenance department has equipment and workers based at this location. The parking lot is a one way in one way out street and there are not many spots. I recommend parking along the street. There are two playgrounds, a pickleball court, an exercise circuit, and a pool. Bathrooms are near the parking lot. There was one time where a group of people were dressed in "Edwardian" clothing. I have zero idea why, but as a Black person walking through a time when I didn't have rights felt very Get Out. read more

A very nice, very spacious park in Alameda if you include the baseball field, which you should!! On one end, you have redwood trees, a basketball court, kids area, tennis courts and an exercise area. On the other end you have that huge baseball/softball field. The High Street Market is just across the street if you want to grab a drink on a hot day, then come here and chill out, that's what I tend to do if I'm not on the hoop court shooting around!! read more

Lincoln Park is unnamed on it's frontage. the park is visible on a driveby. the depth of the park isn't apparent but for a walk through. it's mostly sports facilities with a little bit available for everyone. amenities: tennis court, baseball/socceer field, swimming pool, children's play area, picnic tables, bbq area, fresh greenery, bocce ball, rec. center. basketball court, exercise area. note: -a plaque denotes an historic mound nearby where an indian burial site was found in 1908. -small parking lot in the center accessbie from the rear. read more

Really cute park with lots of different amenities for children of all ages. I love coming here, and it's perfect when it's hot or a sunny day, there is a ton of tree coverage and that helps keep the equipment in the shade and keep it cool. I love that there are tables that can be rented out or that can be used for a little gathering or to eat, and I love also that there's a tot lot as well. A lot of kids tend to have birthday parties in this park, but there's still tons of space for others, and it typically doesn't get too crowded. Parking can be a bit of a struggle, there is a lot in the back, but that gets full, and otherwise, you have to go on the street and park. This place is a bit difficult to find, if you're not from the area. You can park on the street but there's really no direct access to the park itself unless you go around back and go up an alley-looking street. read more

CROWS. In and near Lincoln Park, what often happens late in the day is that crows materialize out of nowhere. At 7 o'clock in the evening, flocks of hundreds of crows sometimes swarm overhead and fly in unison in this or that direction. Drove here from San Leandro because we were getting bored of our parks. Mapquest led me to the side with the baseball field. Kind of hidden 1 lane alley that leads to a small parking lot. The baseball field looked very clean, nice and well maintained. They had a great variety of activities packed into a smallish park. Gated exercise area. hand ball walls or maybe chalk walls. Nice age appropriate playgrounds covered with huge trees which provided nice shade over the entire area. If I remember correctly they had areas for bocce ball, tennis, basketball and even a pool. Bathrooms were in the parking lot. Lots of grass under trees for picnics. Small rose garden walking area also. I liked this park and felt safe. We came during summer, on a weekday, noonish. So there were some day camp kids and a few families. We will be back. read more

a spacious park , very well maintain but somehow with no bike racks to park our bikes except within the pool area -but you have to be members hence missing out on the 5 stars because honestly it is lovely. On the High street side you have a lovely and lush rose garden with a little chalet that you can hire for birthdays and other family functions, then you come to the play grounds organised in age range and well maintained. I always bring my nieces and nephews here when I'm in town visiting my parents. They love it here. There's the kiddie area with sand for the little ones, the wood chips playground for the older ones and the tennis court and skate area for my oldest nephew. There's plenty of places for parents to sit and watch their kids. There are a few benches underneath some trees for a nice shade. Parents can also be members of the recreation center. At $360, you can have access to their pool from April to October. There's also a baseball/soccer/football field, basketball court, a rose garden for photo ops and bathrooms. A SPECTACULAR PARK!! 5 of 5 stars. WE LOVE THIS PLACE. We have brought my nephews here a few times now. They always have a great time. There is so much to do here which makes Lincoln Park truly a great place for kids and families. The park from the High Street side is enclosed with a pretty stone wall and gate. When you enter from this side there is a lush green grassy area which is perfect for picnicking or kicking a ball around. There are just enough trees to allow for both shaded and sunny areas. There is a small rose garden for pretty pictures. There is a community swimming pool (with a lifeguard) within the park- this is a feature we have not taken advantage of yet. The park has a small kiddie park slightly separated for the smaller children and full blown kid's park with monkey bars, sand, slides and a swing set. There is even a bocce area, a small tennis area, a wall ball area and a small area for kids (not adults or teens) to skateboard. Additionally, there is ample benches/seating for parents plus an area for BBQing and get-togethers (such as birthday parties). This park even connects and opens up to a baseball diamond and soccer/football field and which I believe extends to Fernside Blvd. A great park with a little bit of everything. It is very well maintained and clean. The only downside is that parking can be a challenge - but hey it's Alameda. read more

Lincoln Park has a big time baseball field and a co-op swimming pool at one end with parking, and a tree filed park with a handball court in the middle, and a rose garden at the other end. It's an older, mature park with big trees. Not much in the way of open grass areas. Street parking is limited to each end of the park. The access to the parking lot between the baseball field and the swimming pool is one lane only. read more

This would be good one-stop shopping if you had a bunch of older kids of various ages. It was actually *chilly* in the shade the one summer morning we went. If you have more than one toddler, this park is a logistical nightmare... there are no contained areas and there's a lot of real estate to cover. Sometimes this park is the only shady park in Alameda. Huge redwoods. Separate small children and big kid play areas. Lot's of picnic tables, some shaded. Tennis Court, Rose Garden, Baseball field, two bathroom options, the ones in the recreation center are pretty clean, the outdoor ones are hit and miss. The park is pretty clean. Woodchips on the big kid play structure and sand in the little kids area. Bonus is one wall in the little kid area is set up for sidewalk chalk. As a mom you have to keep moving to keep a good line of sight on the kids. read more

Lincoln Park is good on hot, sunny days due to the tree shade. This is also the reason to avoid (or bundle up) if it's cool or breezy at all. Otherwise we prefer Krusi Park at High St. and Otis. The sand pit in the little kids play area is pretty nasty. The sand at Krusi is much better. Lincoln has basketball, courts softball/soccer fields, and a huge lawn area on the High St. side for picnicking. 3 stars is only rating the playground area. I guess it could rate 4 stars if you use the other areas which we don't. read more

Very accommodating to my 2 toddlers with 2 parks (one being age appropriate for toddlers) as well as a pool, basketball courts and baseball field! It was very clean and welcoming. It seemed safe too! This is definitely one of the best parks in the east bay, it has a little something for everyone. This park has multiple play structures for both toddlers and older children, a full swing set, exercise equipment, bocce ball court, basketball court, hand ball wall, baseball diamond, and a large size swimming pool. Even if you aren't coming here to play, this is still an awesome park to lay back and relax in, there is plenty of room to spread out and have a picnic or if you prefer; you can visit the bbq area and host your next party here. read more

This park has a lot of activities for all ages. There are two play areas, a work out area, a softball field, and more! We headed here for an impromptu softball game. The field was nice with benches for spectators. There are also restrooms but they were dirty and the sink only worked half the time. Be sure to bring the antibacterial! read more

Me and my 5 and 6 yr old kids stopped by after some early daytime/weekday errands in Oakland, for lunch and some exercise. I thought the park looked friendly and open. My kids are half black and half Chinese, and are brown skinned, and I am Chinese American. They were eating lunch at the park bench by the basketball court, alone, with no other kids or people near them -- watching me shoot a little hoop. A blond-haired boy, about my 5 yr old daughter's age, walked pass them, stared at them, and said a mean name to them, and then walked away. He was by himself. I had been retrieving the ball, and saw that my kids looked like 'someone has taken their lunch money'... I asked them what was wrong, and they could barely speak above a whisper and finally explained to me, after much inquiry, what happened. They are lively, outspoken kids especially when together. This time, they were not. I became so incensed, I was prepared to search every part of the park for this kid and/or his parent/s to rectify the situation. My kids didn't see him and told me he had simply walked out of the park alone. I don't tolerate racism, and it's especially wrong that it has to come from a little kid, who has a whole life to live. While my Alameda relatives proudly speak highly of Alameda as a place to live, raise kids, and play, this is not my first racist experience in east or west Alameda, and I cannot share these sentiments. This incident does not deter me from returning to this park, but it reaffirms the racist culture of "Alameda is for Alamedans (only)" politic that rears its ugly head often during elections and housing development policy decisions, to say the least. While this is a far cry (?) from Charleston, South Carolina, it is not unrelated in the far reaching tentacles of racism at its barest elements -- passing it along to future generations.
