If not, we would go to Madison Park and try to sneak into their pool, I think I have a better Madison Pool record to be honest. I like that the diving board is not separate from the main pool. Only the infants pool is separate, which is a good thing. There's two sides, the East side is more for the kids, so for the adults stay on the West end for a more relaxed swim. The lane is for exercise, swim your laps, enjoy the day. Summers too short in Cleveland as you are all aware. If you're not aware, you'll find out the hard way when it's snowing one day when it was 65 the day before. That's why it's imperative you take advantage of the pool while you can, TAKE ADVANTAGE MAN! I found out this year the snack bar does not, I repeat, DOES NOT carry Za anymore, that's pizza for the rest of the normal world. If you by chance call it Za, get off my Yelp page, please. I was definitely disappointed to find this out. They have good prices and you can order from the park too, which is cool for the days you're not at the pool and still would like a snack.

I immediately got my family out, but shockingly, they continued children's swimming lessons in that same pool, exposing everyone to potential infections and harmful bacteria like E. coli. I was very surprised, as the staff usually reacts strongly to smaller issues. For example, when I first signed up, one of the female staff members, a very thin brunette, aggressively and disrespectfully yelled at my family and another woman with her daughter over a simple mistake--we brought a floaty, unaware it wasn't allowed. We aren't allowed to use noodles or dive with goggles unless we're paying for swimming lessons. How does that make sense? While some staff members are nice, others act like we're uninvited, unwelcome guests in their house, enforcing unnecessary and unreasonable rules in a rude and bossy manner. This is the first pool I've ever been to where noodles are banned, but apparently, swimming with dead birds is okay. I gave 2 stars because the pool is really beautiful and the water is often warm and pleasant. Too bad for everything else.

All of my calls were answered and returned quickly and if needed, a tech was sent out to handle the problem. I enlist their services to open and close the pool and they are prompt, work as quickly as possible to minimize added cost and do excellent work. You will not go wrong if they are in your corner to make pool ownership smoother and more enjoyable.

It is constantly closed on and off yet again, despite the new re-grand opening as of July '26. This has been an ongoing issue for almost 10 years. I cannot understand the gross complacency of an aquatic center for the community, only to have it still in constant repair and never open. And I'm not writing about the Competition Pool - it's the Leisure Pool. The Leisure Pool is the selling point. It is the reason for the new price hike in membership. Being the broke graduate student…read morethat I am, paying $40/year for a locker sounds MUCH better to me than even the discounted rate students will get for 121 starting this fall. If you are interested in classes then 121 might be the right option. But if you're looking for a good place to workout on your own or with a friend, Veale absolutely fits the bill. The cardio room has plenty of equipment, as does the weight room. There are two pools, a track, and a rock climbing wall as well. And did I mention membership is free for CWRU students and faculty? Just swipe your card. The locker rooms have daily (free) lockers and the paid assigned lockers, as well as showers and hair dryers. They also provide towels (though don't expect soft and fluffy in this department...but they get the job done). I have to say that I am super excited for the extended hours in the fall. Also, many people don't know this but 121 will actually be managing Veale maintenance. What that means for equipment and cleanliness remains to be seen, but I'm certain it will be positive. Overall, if you don't need a "cool" fancy gym and just want a good place to workout, Veale is a great option. I should also say that I workout in the weight room three mornings a week and never feel uncomfortable at all. I've been to gyms where the guys don't always respect the gals who are working out at the same time. Not so here. The athletes, army dudes, and everyday gym junkies have always been nothing but polite. Way to round out a positive review. EDIT: So, 121 is now managing Veale and there are some pretty nice changes going on, i.e. love that they got rid of the yucky drop ceiling in the weight room! Looking forward to seeing all of the changes as they shape up.

They are strict on their safety rules, which is wonderful. They have a playground, which my son loved for break times (:45 - :00). Why only four stars? As much as we loved it, it became crowded with day cares/camp kids who weren't monitored very well. Although kids are kids, and it's hard as a supervisor to keep an eye on all at the same time, these kids were a bit rude. Before they had come, we had a blast. Will definitely come again.

But they went in anyway - Ew!) We watched the lifeguards scoop something out of the water, put it into a hazardous waste bag, and then add some chemicals to the pool. We left. Nearly six weeks later, we gave it another try on a really hot day. My daughter got stung by a bee in the clover-filled lawn, and I kid you not, the pool was vacated again for the same reason! Don't these people know there are bathrooms provided?! SO gross! We didn't get our money's worth on the passes, but on the way home, we all agreed to never go to Ledge Pool again!

The Cleveland Metroparks has transformed the culture of Edgewater for a new generation. You can find after work and enjoy a walk through the trails, ride your bike from the Detroit or Gordon Square neighborhoods, enjoy the park at the top of the hill next to the pavilions or dock your boat at the marina, the possibilities are endless...heck you can even get married under the weeping willow!

I have to say I do love this park. Upper and lower…read more Upper has a full playground, covered pavilion picnic area, grills, Cleveland sign, restrooms, lots of grass and area to run and move. Lower has the beach, volleyball, concessions, bar on top, seats, restrooms, pier, lots of grass and grills but no pavilion. Parking for upper or lower is easy but both parking areas are separate. You cannot get to one through the other. You actually have to drive out of the park to other entrances to access each area. There is plenty of walking, running, biking, scooters, trails. And plenty of grass area in both to play soccer, baseball, football, frisbee, kites, almost anything. There is even a dog beach. Lots of things to do and to enjoy yourself outside. You cannot even bring a sandwich, chips and a drink or whatever and have a spontaneous picnic. The other fun thing to do is watch the air show from here. It's free and you see most of it. You even get buzzed by a plane or two. This is an enjoyable park. I wish it was closer to me. You cannot even bring even get a great pic of Cleveland and one of the Cleveland signs.
