This time to move things along we tried a different approach. I asked the receptionist if the dentist could see my son before the hygienist so we could hopefully do a full exam. They were more than happy to help and it worked. My son wasn't scared! They have a big stuffed animal that he was able to practice brushing his teeth and explained what they were going to do by using the stuffy. They have a toy train the kids can ride too. Words can't explain how grateful I was to have their help. My son enjoys the dentist now!

The…read moredentist and staff are great with the kids and the dentist sits with me in his office to show me x-rays, go over the kids' dental health, etc. The waiting room has plenty of things for the kids to do and is train-themed, which they love. Sadly, this new office waiting room doesn't have the big train that the old one did. My kids used to love climbing on it. One thing to know about the dentist - your kids go in for their cleanings alone, unless you insist on being there. It freaked me out the first time I took them, but it bothered my kids not at all and my 2.5-year-old trooped right in without a glance back. Maybe he remembered the cool toy he got last time. He definitely loved the heck out of one he picked up this time. Good place.

I couldn't decide whether to rate this dentist on her dental work, or bedside manner, but I thought…read morethat it was more important to bring up the latter-so here goes. Well...I remember the first time I took my boys here, it was ok. They had check ups (I couldn't be in the exam room during the treatment processes ever) and then we met with Dr. Sveen and talked to her. This was the one and ONLY ONE time I spoke to her face to face with her over probably the 4 years we were parents there. When we came back for return visits, or my child had cavities or had to get a procedure done, I was always informed by the Dental Assistant. Then brace yourself for any return appointments you make, because most likely you will be there for up to two hours. I'd say that the dental work was good? The staff was very nice. But I remember Dr. Sveen not being very personable when I met her, and obviously so because she can't even pop her head out to say hello and tell you what she just did with your kids teeth; she has to relay it through her Assistant and she is the only dentist in the office!!! So anyway, you can decide. It's alright, but plan on never personally talking to the dentist and long waits in the office.
