After talking to a U-Pack associate at ABF I felt that they had found my moving and storage solution. My trailer was delivered on time, great customer service support, they picked up on time and stored for almost 30 days. The drivers were helpful and skilled professionals. The condo complex I moved to was small and the streets were challenging, yet they got it done. Delivery and pick up of empty trailer in one day! I would recommend and use this service again.

This time, I thought to try ABF because they're a trustworthy freight mover Their containers come in a smaller size than those of PODS. (I'm thinking right now that two of these containers will not hold a 3 bedroom house's contents, per the quote. You can start the quote online, make changes, and even contract for help on either end. After I finished making changes, I called the company with some questions, and as well, to get the process moving. Mark picked up the phone and was friendly and answered the questions reassuringly. It went smoothly, even though I don't have an address at the other end yet. They sent some forms, including one for Gypsy Moths since I'm moving to California. I was told that they charge after they pick up the containers. They asked me to call them when I'm ready to have them picked up. This was confirmed today. There is no early, automatic pick up. However, they have a three day loading period that doesn't cost extra. If you go beyond that, they charge you a storage fee. Since I'm already going to be charged for storage, I think it doesn't matter. Last Friday, they called to set a drop-off time for Monday, and they were closer to the late end of that window, but that's fine. It's better than the Cable company arriving after you return to work, and then, complaining that *you* blew the appointment, right? The driver was friendly and asked where to put the containers. They use a large forklift to move them from the trailer to your selected location, and they have the ability to position them at any of four angles (facing garage, facing away, facing right, facing left). The documentation says to use a flat surface, but a slanted driveway is fine.

In addition, the job came in almost 3x the quoted price AND we received zero customer support or communication from the franchise ownership when we experienced problems (read below for details). The negative vibes started when their team arrived the morning of our move with only 2 people and no packing paper, no boxes, no markers for labeling, etc. Although the pack out had been confirmed with College Hunks' scheduler and main POC (his name was Alexander - he oozes confidence but he is not accurate, effective or helpful in a negative situation) two days prior the team didn't get the memo and thought they were just there to load a truck (it was supposed to be a pack out and load job). We had completed a detailed on-site meeting/walk thru with their scheduler, Alexander, and discussed picture boxes, wardrobe boxes, etc. so it wasn't that the company had never laid eyes on the job. The lead packer, Ethan, did get on the phone when I told him the actual scope and he quickly got supplies and 2 more people to our site, which was great, but it went downhill from there. If that had been the only issue I would not be leaving this long winded negative review. When we got to our destination we unpacked box after box after box with ZERO packing paper. Most items had not been wrapped or protected at all. All they did was take drawers and shelves of items and throw them into a cardboard box and seal it up. I had many damaged and broken glass, wood and ceramic items on the other end. I will acknowledge there was 1 packer, named Ethan, that did use packing paper and attempted to label boxes (after he borrowed a marker from us and after we asked them to label). He was the packer in our line of sight most of the day so we had no idea the others were not packing correctly or labeling anything. Ethan was great and had a good attitude all day - if all of their employees behaved like Ethan it would have been a very different move. Movers should know this but when you pack a truck for a long distance move and the boxes have no packing paper or internal support (and they're only 1/2 - 3/4 full) they all start to collapse and crush down from weight above as the truck drives and bounces. This is why we had so much damage. None of our boxes were labeled and the final straw was their cheap packing tape wasn't sticking to the boxes so as the movers at the destination site picked up boxes they were falling apart and collapsing on them. Items were falling out onto the ground as they tried to move stuff inside. I reached out to Alexander several times during the pack out, and also while we were unloading, with photos and expressed our disappointment and concerns and he assured me that the franchise owner would reach out within 24-48 hours to discuss what happened. Well, it's been over 2 weeks and crickets - not a single text, call or email. So it's clear their upper management really doesn't care about customer service. They got their 3x money and with job over we don't matter to them anymore. Take this review as a beware - they look great at face value but their team is not trained, equipped or supported by upper management.

In fact, when he called to confirm the day before my move, I explained how I hoped to be done early in the day due to a family event in the afternoon. If you're wondering why this company has so many glowing reviews, read on to learn about the…read moreunethical threats, intimidation, and bribery used by the owner, Clark. If not for the owner's behavior, this would be a five-star review. Bruce and Ryne, the two movers who showed up, were phenomenal--professional, respectful, and tireless. They worked quickly but carefully, took only one short break, and kept positive attitudes through an exhausting fourteen-hour day. They were the bright spot in an otherwise dark experience. We chose Clark & Sons because their website emphasizes "strength in unity," professionalism, and care. Sadly, none of those values were reflected in how we were treated. Our written quote clearly stated $189 per hour for a three-man crew and one truck to move our three-bedroom home about twenty-five miles. On October 11, only two movers arrived at 9:15 a.m. They immediately called the company to report they needed help. We overheard multiple calls throughout the day asking for assistance, yet no one was ever sent. Because there were only two movers instead of three, the job took from 9:15 a.m. until 11:30 p.m. At the end of the night, Ryne called the owner, Clark, to discuss payment and handed the phone to my husband. My husband first praised Bruce and Ryne for their hard work, then raised the issue of the missing third mover. Clark's response was hostile, abusive, and threatening. He called us "thieves," said he was driving to Indianapolis and would "turn his car around" to come to our house to "embarrass us in front of our neighbors", and physically attack my husband. When my husband confronted him about his behavior, Clark threatened to call the sheriff. His aggression destroyed any sense of trust. We refused to provide our credit card number, fearing he might overcharge us, and instead requested a secure payment link like the one used for our deposit. Five days later, on October 16 around 11 p.m., my husband began receiving repeated calls from 513-264-2622. When he finally answered, the same man admitted it was him--the same Clark who had threatened us--and said he was "frustrated that day." He then demanded that my husband make me remove a review, even though I had not written one. When my husband refused, Clark continued calling--**six times between 10:49 and 11:04 p.m.--**and finally texted: "If you get that review removed, I'll give you $1,000 right now." Screenshots confirm both the quote and the repeated calls. Sadly, the harassment has continued with more calls today. And so NOW I am writing a review. We've moved many times, across states and even internationally, and have never experienced such unethical and threatening conduct from a moving company--let alone from its owner. Adding to the irony, Clark & Sons promotes itself as a Christian, family-owned business. Their trucks display Bible verses and crosses, and they advertise in the Christian Blue Pages under the phrase "Strength in Unity." I end with one of my favorite verses: "By their fruit you will recognize them." -- Matthew 7:16

I was downsizing and had only three rooms to move. I had moved most of the boxes and small stuff already. Things were going well until they told me how fast they drove so I left ahead of them to be here. There was only a few pieces left, and I specifically told them what was to come and what was to stay. So I was amazed when they called me 2 hours later to say they were done and were headed my way. They must have gone on slow motion and stopped for a long lunch. They finally arrived and unloaded pretty quickly and of course the final costs was much higher than quoted. They also brought a few things I was leaving, which they thoroughly padded. I carried them back to Dayton has they had been promised to family members. Final analysis: Took longer and cost more. But they were thorough and pleasant. And the original estimate was way lower than other movers. I would probably use again.

Deeply Unprofessional and Completely Unreliable. An embarrassment to moving companies everywhere…read more Stay Away from Two Men and a Truck The experience I had with Two Men and a Truck in Huber Heights was so unacceptable that I feel a personal responsibility to warn others. From start to finish, the service was disorganized, unprofessional, and lacking in accountability. The two men they sent to handle my move were not physically capable of doing the job. I CAUGHT THEM SMOKING IN THEIR TRUCK and throughout the day, I had to personally motivate them to keep working. They repeatedly got locked out of my apartment building, despite there being no reason to be outside. I had to stop what I was doing to go track them down multiple times. I was paying for professional help and instead I found myself doing half their job and trying to manage them just to get the day over with. We eventually called in family and friends because otherwise we would have been there until midnight. I know for a fact the hours they spent unloading my stuff was unacceptable because in Texas it took 4 hours for a team of 2 men to PACK AND LOAD my moving pods but it took the team sent from Huber heights the same amount of time to only unload the pods. The physical move was poorly executed, and to make matters worse, my furniture was damaged. I watched my mattress fall off the wall, crash into my TV and topple my brand new dining rooms chairs into the cement floor of my parking garage. Rather than reimbursing me for those damages, the company tried to "resolve" the issue by sending me links to random used furniture off Facebook Marketplace. They eventually reimbursed me for the value they believed my furniture was worth even after sending them links and telling them I bought the furniture set brand new as a graduation gift to myself 1 month prior to moving instead of reimbursing me for the full cost of the furniture. They told me they could only reimburse me for this partial cost of the table and chairs because they had already refunded me for the move itself. A refund I was owed because they sent me an incompetent team, and charged me 1.5x the high end of the estimate they had originally given me. When I reached out to Trent Wilson, the manager, I was completely ignored. I had called and told I'd expect to Hear from him and nothing. I emailed multiple times over several weeks with no response. Casey, from the administrative team, has also been dismissive and unhelpful. They clearly have time to browse Facebook Marketplace, but not enough time to take five minutes to return a call or offer a professional resolution. We resolved this mess over text message. At least I was getting responses this way. I even escalated the situation to their corporate office with no luck either, his name was Michael Schlosser. There is no accountability at this company. No urgency. No professionalism. No respect for the customer's time, money, or belongings. The experience was physically and mentally exhausting, and the lack of follow through has made it even worse. Do not use this company. Don't risk your property or your sanity. Find movers who actually show up ready to work and take responsibility when they fall short because this team won't.
