Hi, Shelly I'm really glad you responded, because this is a serious issue that needs to be addressed properly. I want to start by saying I do not appreciate how this situation has been downplayed. When I came in to have my taxes prepared, the printed documents I was given showed my refund being routed to my old bank account--not the new business account I had clearly requested. I even called to confirm this discrepancy, and I was told everything had been updated correctly and that a new copy simply wasn't printed to "save paper." Despite that reassurance, I later found out through the IRS that the account information was entered incorrectly. Not only was the wrong account used, but the last two digits were also switched. This error caused significant delays and complications with Refund Advantage, and I had to spend additional time trying to resolve something that should have been handled correctly from the start. Because of this delay, I had to postpone a planned move for myself and my daughters, which resulted in me losing my deposit on a new place. This situation directly cost me money. What's even more concerning is how this was handled when I reached out. Instead of taking responsibility, I was blamed. There was no acknowledgment of the mistake, no apology, and no effort to make things right. That level of customer service is unacceptable--especially considering I paid $675 for a professional service that was not executed properly. I requested a partial refund as a fair resolution, given the financial impact and inconvenience caused. I was told, verbatim, to "forget about it," and that I would not be receiving anything back. At this point, I will be moving forward with filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau and am prepared to provide all documentation, including the printed forms and communication records. I also mentioned pursuing legal action because this situation has not been handled appropriately at any level. I would still prefer to resolve this directly, but the lack of accountability and communication has made that difficult. read more

I paid $170 for tax advice on a 401k loan. I was not given advice just brushed off and told to wait to see what happens. I was told to have my taxes done it would be $250 when it came time to pay it was $395. I was told to call and discuss the loan in retirement. The representative never called me back nor answered my emails . I will not go back again as the advice I was given was not accurate. I am left to figure it out for myself. What a joke! read more

Everyone there was really nice. I found communication a little rough unless I was standing in their office. The cost is kinda on the high side for simple tax returns. I was behind a year, and wanted to get caught up and have everything tidy. They did that for me. My refund was a few hundred less than they'd told me, okay. I'm not sure for a basic filing I'd use them in the future, but if there was any complicated situations, I definitely recommend letting a professional get you through. Let me start off by saying that I believe this company is probably good. I recognize I just had a bad experience with one employee, Darena. I don't want what happened to me and my wife to happen to anyone else, that is why I am posting this. We came to Linda's not knowing if we would get a return or bill. We would have left happy with an accurate return one way or the other. Instead, we got put through the emotional roller coaster of expecting a sizeable return and instead got a massive bill. If we had known about the bill we would have made different financial decisions this past 2 months and would have set the money aside to pay out taxes. Now we have to scramble, call the IRS, and find a way to get this paid in short order. We came here at the recommendation of a friend. The experience was odd but we walked out thinking we had a return for $1800 coming which made us so happy we did not care that Darena talked the entire time about her personal life, made several comments about not wanting to wear a mask, and kept moving through the process of our taxes so quickly we had to ask her to slow down and explain things multiple times. Imagine our surprise, when 2 months later, we receive not a payment from the government but a bill for $5600 that gave us 14 days to pay the balance. I emailed Linda's, which got back to us quickly, but as you can see from the screenshot the response was curt and unhelpful. Only after insisting that I come in with the paperwork did they make an appointment for me. I showed up half an hour early, my nerves had been shot over this and I barely slept the night before. To her credit, Darena finished her lunch and let me start our appointment nearly half an hour early. The entire meeting took less than 10 minutes. Darena took no ownership of the mistake on our taxes. She blamed me and my wife saying she had asked if we made 4 separate 2020 tax estimate payments last year for over $1800 each. I reminded her what she had actually asked was if I still owed taxes from 2019 which I did not. She said it was just a miscommunication. Still no apology or sympathy. 0 ownership of her mistake in this process and tried to insinuate it was our fault. If you go to Linda's, if Darena is your agent, use caution. Do not let her fill the time with unprofessional and distracting conversation. Make her focus, and make her go over everything on your taxes line by line. Or even better, let someone else help you. I can't recommend Linda's Tax Service enough. From the time I called to inquire on a few things and schedule my appointment, the service with everyone every step of the way. I can't speak highly enough of Noelle, as she went above and beyond for our taxes, and even went back to 2020 to see if we qualified for a OR state kicker, and we did! She took such wonderful care of my husband and I, and was such a pleasure to talk to during the whole process. Tax time for me is usually never exciting, and generally very nerve wrecking.. Extremely happy with Linda's tax service. Have been with them 3 years so far. I did our taxes myself for years. We didn't own a home, real estate or any investments so we just needed short form filed. Where the problem lies was with the Oregon tax return. I honestly believe they make it complicated on purpose. Then we bought a home, cashed out a retirement fund, received an inheritance and changed jobs all in one year. I wasn't going to attempt to do that by myself! In came Linda's tax service. Slow steady downgraded, I keep going back only cuz they have all my information, I don't see myself going back anymore, it's like we need to schedule an appointment, I say ok, I get there then they say well everyone is at lunch, give us your paperwork and we will call you to come back and sign, I feel like they are a revolving door for employees, anyway the people I get each year are no longer there. I'd give 0 stars if I could. The receptionist is absolutely rude. I called stating I had an appointment at 5pm and was trying to ask a question about my SS card. I didn't even get my actual question out when the receptionist very rudely replied "UM we close at 5pm." I tried to explain that we were told to come in at 5pm. She asked who told me that, when I didn't know who it was she hung up on me. I tried to call back 2x, the phone was answered and hung up immediately. Dave was 20 minutes late to the appointment, and then proceeded to not answer our questions. Not to be harsh, because I've been using LTS for almost 10 years, but let's just say, it used to be WAY better. Now, the tax preparers don't seem to want to work. My taxes took 22 days from drop-off to signature, WAY TOO LONG. I called about 4 times in that span of time, each time made promises that my message would be returned, and it NEVER was. Finally, I had enough of being ignored. I showed up with my husband and managed to get my taxes signed for processing. After years of loyalty, this abuse is enough. I will NOT return next year. I DO NOT recommend using this business. To their credit, each receptionist I spoke with was very nice and tried to help as much as possible. read more

Wow I can't believe the negative reviews. My wife and I have been doing our taxes here for the last 4 years. They even went back through the HnR block statements going back 5 years before that and found money that we should have gotten back. Linda's did this for FREE! Debbie is the one we always have do them and she is fantastic!! Showed us stuff we could write off that we never imagined possible. She is very thorough and super friendly. We have never had a bad experience and I am bummed out about the bad rating here. I think I'll call BS. Maybe some people's taxes are complicated. On multiple occasions Linda's tax service has failed to follow up or follow through with what they say they are going to do. I am paying a significant tax penalty because Linda's tax service was unable to help me with an addendum. Never mind that they have been given months to work on the task. And just so you know this was not a complex return. I am a married father of two with one source of income. I'm not sure what was very complicated about it or why they were unable to assist me but if they can't handle that don't trust them with anything more important. They don't follow up. They don't follow through. And for the record I accept the responsibility of giving them a second shot. Shame on me. read more

Terrible experience. I needed help filing my taxes because the majority of my income was from Canada. I had my taxes done by a woman here who was HEAVILY distracted, answering her phone at least 5 times during our appointment. She wasn't unpleasant, but she seemed not to give a &$*! about what she was doing. The final straw was when she almost sent me on my way WITHOUT even attempting to ask about possible deductions I might have had. If I had not prompted her about it, and the specific deductions, I would've walked out owing the IRS $$$. Instead, after I (keyword is absolutely I) initiated this discussion and went through my deductions, I walked out with a $$ refund, as well as a ton of tax credit in Canada. While I was given a 10% discount, what does that do for me when you're charging me over $200 to do your job for you? I am never EVER coming here AGAIN!!! read more

I just received an email asking me to rate their service. It asked "Would you recommend us" when I said no the page it redirected to a message that stated "this page can not be reached" So I then chose yes as a response it then directed me to an actual website that would accept my positive feedback. I must say that is shady! In fact I had a bad experience with Linda's Tax Service but had decided to not review figuring just stop the negativity that this experience had brought forth but after having this email rekindle that negativity I feel it is my duty to confess. Made an appointment earlier this year close to the end of tax season. I went in and met with my tax accountant and got everything taken care of under the premise that they would contact me when further information. They did contact me later stating that it was showing that I was owing a good deal of money, but that they were going to have one of their senior accountants look over it. Radio silence for months. I tried calling numerous times, left 2 voicemails, and spoke to 2 different people, and finally in July I spoke to someone who found that all I needed to do was come in and sign something. I went in to go sign it and then also had to pay $170ish to file. I get that they have a fee, but they should have at least advised me of this before going in that day, and they also probably should have given me a discount since they apparently don't know how to return voicemails. I would never go back. Initially they were great, but their follow through was pretty terrible. read more
