The best little shop in Helen is definitely Lindenhaus Imports! James was so knowledgeable in all aspects of the cuckoo clocks, took his time to show us what each clock does, and even helped us narrow down exactly the features we were looking for. We splurged on an authentic German made clock, and couldn't be more excited to receive it in the mail. If you don't see they one your looking for, they can track it down and ship it directly to you. They had everything from nutcrackers, smokers, Russian nesting dolls and the beautiful wall of clocks. Friendly easy going staff! Actually of all the shop keepers of N Main Street they were the nicest and most welcoming to my family with little ones. They went out of their way to entertain the little ones with the cuckoo clocks and made them Chime for us! . I eyed their awesome selection of pins and magnet souvenirs. Really wanted to look at a cuckoo clock during this visit to Helen. Came twice to the store and both times they were closed (peak business hours, busy time in a tourist area). There's a sign on the front store about being "short staffed" and both times there were employees inside that saw us looking in windows but did not open. Also, hours on website do not reflect their actual hours. Sorry Lindenhaus Imports but you lost my business. I understand being short staffed in this day and age but try and open when it's peak time of day not 9am in the morning. read more

James from Lindenhaus is one of THE BEST and most helpful people I know. I had recently specially ordered two rings from his company through a wholesaler I came across online. They were a one of a kind silver rings with actual Chinese caligraphy style engravings from the different dynasties of China and was extremely difficult to find. It was an absolute delight to receive these rings with an adorable souvenir from James and a lovely note inside. My experience with James was FANTASTIC from start to finish. He is extremely kind and thoughtful and an absolutely lovely person. For anyone out there who has special requests and is on a frantic hunt for something special like I was, James is the person for you! I personally will always have him in mind in the future! This is a great gift shop! They have a great collection of high quality items that make perfect and memorable gifts. The only thing that surpasses their high quality collection is their customer service. It is simply superb! I ordered a custom ring holder from their site that was no longer available. The owner (James) personally contacted me to find a replacement that met my specifications. The replacement was by far a superior product than the one I had originally ordered but James still sold it to me for the same price as my original order. Came with my friend this past weekend to just walk around Helen, as one does. This store stands out among the rest because it is not full of cheap printed t-shirts and low quality mass produced jewelry. Instead, it is full of beautiful imported objects that will satisfy most anyone seeking a real piece of Europe in Helen. They have real matryoshkas, not the cheap made-in-china ones. They have clocks, jewelry, and home accents. I was particularly enamored with their wide array of Baltic amber jewelry. I did not catch the name of the man who assisted us but he was absolutely great. He fielded all our questions, he helped us look for things, and above all, did not try to "hard-sell" us. He just let us look at things at our pace and was a great assist without being pushy. The ONLY thing he actually even suggested was a chain for the pendant I purchased, and even that is because I said out loud, "There is no chain." I really liked that, that I was not being pushed into purchasing something I didn't love 100%. This place is a total class act with wonderful employees. I love my necklace that I purchased as it is very meaningful to me in its symbolism. 100% recommend this place. read more
