I had a very disappointing and stressful experience with this office, primarily due to the…read morefront-desk administrative staff. I was initially told I would not be able to see my previous provider, even though I had received confirmation by text from the office. When I came in to sign the required release of information forms, the staff member I spoke with was dismissive and rude, even though she already knew I would be out of state for a week. Only after I showed her the message from the office did she go back and confirm with the provider, who agreed to see me after all. Later, when I arrived for my appointment at the new office on Coastal Highway, the same staff member was there. I arrived five minutes late after driving in from out of state, which the office policy allows to be waived once. I completed all paperwork, but she never checked me in. As a result, the provider came out and took another patient instead of me, even though my appointment was scheduled first. This was extremely frustrating and anxiety-provoking -- especially for someone seeking behavioral health care. The dismissive attitude and lack of basic administrative care made the entire experience feel chaotic and unsafe. I left feeling unsettled rather than supported. I strongly believe this office would benefit from trauma-informed customer service training, especially when working with mental health patients. Front-desk staff play a critical role in patient experience, and this one interaction made me decide not to return.

The front office check in was easy. Before I go on, we went on a Saturday morning 930am. When we arrived we were greeted by the receptionist. From there we were then asked to fill up information on line. Shortly we were taken to a room. About 10 min later the Md came in. I liked the md's mannerisms. He listen to my husband's complaint. I was impressed. He said, I will get you better before you leave here. The Md listened to his lungs. The then the nurse came in and gave my husband 60 mg of prednisone and a Neb tx. After the Neb tx was done , the Md game in and states that my husband needs to go and get a chest X-ray. It was around the corner , walking distance. The chest X-ray was taken and advised to go back to the urgent care. We were taken to a room awaiting the results of the chest X-ray. Thank god, it was neg for pneumonia but starting with bronchitis. The Md prescribed prednisone x 1 month, abtx and inhaler I highly recommend this urgent care walk in. My husband really appreciates that the Md listened to his complaints

We truly appreciated the level of care and compassion shown. However, there was an issue afterward that needs improvement. When we went to CVS to pick up the prescribed medication, it wasn't there. After looking into it, we found the prescription had been mistakenly sent to Express Scripts (my long-term mail-order pharmacy) instead of the local CVS. Mistakes happen, and that part was understandable. The frustrating part was the process to fix it. When I called Bayhealth, I was told the correction had to be reviewed by a doctor, even though the prescription had already been approved--just sent to the wrong place. We were sitting in CVS waiting for the medication, running on very little sleep due to our daughter's condition, which made the delay even more difficult. We waited for about 45 minutes with no resolution. When I called back, I was told the doctor was with another serious patient and we would have to wait longer. The concern is not the mistake itself, but the lack of an efficient process to quickly correct something like this. Situations like this directly impact the patient, especially when medication is needed promptly. There should be a faster, more streamlined way to resend a prescription to the correct pharmacy without unnecessary delays. Again, the care we received in person was excellent--but improving this process would make a big difference in the overall patient experience.

They also reliably followed-up with the result of tests done. The registration by phone was also simple enough. The one part that was fine but maybe not 100% was the initial reception. For one, not long before we got there, I called ahead and was told the wait time was at least 40 minutes. I get there 20 minutes later and the waiting room is completely empty, which is a good thing but I don't know why they made it seem like they were busy. I parked right in front at a designated spot and text the number on the sign. I completed the registration by phone. But when I went inside I got a cold reception. I said we were there for my daughter's appointment and then got softly reprimanded for having checked into the wrong Atracare location. Except I followed the instructions right on the sign at the designated parking space, so if that went to another location that's Atracare's doing. It's never ideal when you're walking in with a sick kiddo and getting a cold, scoldy reception. Fortunately things picked up from there. I'm not local to any Atracare but I would go back if I needed medical care in the area. I was really happy with the medical staff, the electronic registration procedures, the wait time, and the cleanliness of the clinical area.

I have always received excellent care, defined as attentive, thorough, and never rushed. During COVID I had telehealth visits, which took care of my needs. The office has explained that under normal circumstances for seniors (which I am), the first visit of the year looks at blood test results. The second goes over Medicare requirements. Any other concerns throughout the year are easily addressed. I highly recommend this practice.

Rhonda is very easy to communicate with and is extremely knowledgeable as I have had many conversations with her over the past five years.
