Our rescue brought a cat in today 4/24/23. Our foster requested a fecal PCR test be run. The Dr ran a fecal in house despite being asked to send it to a lab. Her fecal exam was negative in house but he still chose to give a dewormer (she has been dewormed 3 times already including with the medication the doctor prescribed for parasites that were not found). He also charged us for 7 days of albon despite being told she had also been treated for coccidia and then sent home a probiotic even though our foster explained that the kitty was getting a prescription probiotic. He also before doing anything said "this cat has FIV or FeLV" without even testing her and this cat had already tested negative. A complete and total waste of over $200 and he did not even do what was asked. read more

Nope, never again. We "were" clients here for a very long time.......15yrs plus. But the compassion of the staff has gone down hill tremendously. Prices are no longer affordable! I have had nothing but good experiences so far. We have a new kitten that was seen, since we could not go in with her due to Covid the vet called and talked with me over the phone it was like I was in the room with them. My Bailey just got spade there and it was a great experience. The staff explained everything to me and called the next day to check on her. She is also groomed there. After the horrible experience at one of the other vet hospital in Belmont. I have been terrified of vets in this area. I took my baby to Linebergers and they were amazing from their scheduling staff, vet techs and Doctors! The most informative honest caring staff that I have ever had the pleasure of of meeting! Just from my first visit they are very reputable. No price gauging. My estimate was well within reasonable range!. I was given a range and options not a scare tactic. We love our fur babies very much and this was beyond a relief after the terroir past visit to another vets office! Thank you for a great visit! read more

If 0 stars were possible, that's what they would be getting. For starters, I had a dog that needed surgery. They told us doing the surgery was risky but my dog is 13 so we knew the risks. We had to take her four times... they would not do anything but give her sedation and take our money. We got sick of it & took her to a different vet and they easily did the surgery and my dog is healed to perfection within days. It took one trip to this new vet and it was a fraction of the cost. We will never have them treat our dogs medically again. We thought it would be okay to board one of our dogs here while we went on a trip. We picked her up a day early and when we called, they seemed apprehensive as if they wanted to cover up for the fact that they weren't taking care of her. We got there & my dog smelled like pee, was covered in dirt, had a cut on her nose, & walked out with her tail between her legs. When asked what it was that was on her nose, the girl laughed it off and said it was dirt, tried to use saliva on her finger to get it off and then said my dog was trying to bury her food. My dog has never done this and it is completely out of character so now we know they lied too. She was supposed to get a bath before we picked her up and when we called to let them know that we were picking her up a day early at 8 am, she said it would take 6-7 hours before she would be able to have my dog ready. A bath takes 6-7 hours? We told her that was fine and she seemed apprehensive yet again. When we picked her up she smelled as if they had put a scented powder on her to try to mask the scent of pee and dirt that she had apparently been living in for the past week. We instructed them to use her leash, they ignored us and kept it in a ziploc bag. We instructed them to keep her bed with her since she wasn't with other dogs, it was returned to us disgusting and destroyed. Unacceptable to treat people's fur babies this way. We will NEVER return here & will make sure that everyone with animals knows how unbelievably awful this place is to dogs and to their owners. read more

Originally was pleased by my service at Lineberger when my puppy went for her first round of shots and but then when I called to make an appointment for the second round of shots they claimed they did not have us on file. I didn't understand how they could give my puppy shots and medication without having her on file but they worked hard to get her in for shots and this week we just got her spade with them and we were VERY impressed! They took such good care of our dog and we will definitely continue coming back! read more

My family has had he worst experience with this place. Mainly with boarding and them not boarding the pets properly and then saying we never said to board the dogs separately. Could have been worse but glad our dog only came away with stitches. Don't bring your dogs here. They do not understand customer service. They do not care enough about your pets safety to board them correctly. read more

Lineberger has been our vet for two years. They are wonderful and have taken excellent care of my crazy dog. We have received amazing medical care but their boarding is hard to beat. With their VIP rooms, I've always felt so reassured that my pup would be not only safe, but very happy. They also have an amazing grooming staff. My dog hates all things grooming and the staff are always friendly and positive. They are complimentary when I know how difficult my dog can be. We love our vet and have always felt very taken care of by the Lineberger Vet family. read more

Overall, not impressed with this practice. If you are looking for super sensitive bedside manner, keep looking! After bringing in a recently adopted cat who became lethargic, I notified the staff and vet that the cat's history was partially unknown and that booster vaccines would be a good idea since only verbal confirmation of all pertinent tests and vaccines could be substantiated as very little paperwork could be provided with this adoption. During the visit the cat was so exhausted and dehydrated she could barely lift her head. However, this vet and staff found it necessary to give an unending lecture on how if "this cat bites" him or his staff " its going away for six months!" All the while his assistant wearing gloves you would handle an eagle with, held this near lifeless cat flat against the cold metal exam table as her eyes bulge. Keep in mind I have asked for boosters prior...To add insult to injury, the vet continued to add " and I doubt you could afford to keep her here for six months." I was mortified to say the least! (Keep in mind this is an adopted indoor exotic shorthair in good health outside of the last 24hrs) He continues as I stand there shocked at the brutality to this gentle animal and verbalizes he'll "try again" after a failed attempt to collect blood for labs. As a medical professional myself, this is when I realize its time to intervene. Basic triage is thrown out the window with these folks. I was petrified that the poor kitty would pass away before he finished with his lecture about how "what if a bat flies in your house and bites this animal?" At this point I'm literally thinking I may be on Candid Camera. Remember, I asked for boosters at checkin, reiterated when he came in room, agreed when the repeat of importance of vaccines were mentioned-yet again. All the while, my pet is in desperate need of immediate treatment and is being man-handled. This is not the choice vet for a rare breed as his knowledge of this breed, or the lack there of, and their tendencies, was quite evident. All in all, after using good judgement, I stopped the madness and took this sweet girl to my regular vet who was a much longer drive. Lineberger is the best! I had a 13 year old lab who was definitely at the end of her life. The vet I took her to said you can't put her down, we'll do tests for $800 and if you're right, we'll do it. NO! I took her to Lineberger and they were so kind and knew she was over it. It was the worst decision for me but they understood and made it as comfortable as possible. I now have my little chihuahua (a senior man) and I went yesterday for his shots. They are the best! It's no contact, but the vet came out and talked to me about my little man. This showed great integrity from the business and has changed my perspective regarding the situation and now I am back to provide a five star review. have been a customer for 20+ yrs,Eddie is kin to me but lately this practice has gone down hill , customer service really sucks the short brown haired girl that takes your info is a smart ass .very rude!!!! not only to me but to some of the other customers while I was there the prices are outrageous,When called for info on boarding,exam etc ,was told one price ,when checked the pet in the price automatically went up $70 when checked the pet out .the price went up another $45.and they still didn't give something we had specifically asked for .This type of crap has happened the last three times we have sent our pet there but it won't happen again because we are finding a new vet!!! read more

If this were a true statement would the "STAFF" have left me standing in the pouring rain this morning 5/10 minutes before they opened their door for business? I scheduled my very first appointment with Lineberger today (March 3, 2014) for dental cleaning, heart worm check, and needed injections. I was told by the scheduler to have my dog there at 8 am prompt. During my drive to the office my dog had vomited over the back seat of my car. We arrived 15 minutes ahead of time so I walked my dog around the building and parking lot to calm her down. Ten and five minutes before the office opened, I could see the staff coming in and out of the front reception area setting up computers, etc. During that time frame the rains came and it poured down! The staff could see me standing outside the front door and would not even come to the door to see if I had a problem and/or inquire why I was standing in the pouring rain with a collie? I had explained to one of the staff who had just exited her car my dilemma and she said she would tell the people inside. At exactly 8 am they opened their doors to a very upset "could have been" client! Once inside I cancelled my appointment and expressed my displeasure as to how I was treated and told them if they could treat me like that then what type of treatment could my dog be subjected to when I left her in their care? After I returned home and calmed down I called the office manager and explained what had happened and she politely explained their policies of being very punctual about their opening and closing policy and about the safety of their staff. I get all that! When does common sense come in to play? Obviously, I did not look like a terrorist, robber or someone who wanted to cause harm to their staff standing there in the pouring rain with a drenched collie 5 minutes to 8am. Unfortunately, I will never get to know how good Dr Ed, etc, are to their animals or client's because it was the front office staff that showed disrespect and rude treatment to me. Each and every visit is met with friendliness, courtesy and respect. The vet techs who are highly trained and certified from various vet tech schools exhibit a vast knowledge in veterinary medicine and care. As for Dr. Lineberger, he is one of the best in the business. He cares for all different types of companion animals (dogs, cats, birds, etc). Not only is Dr. Lineberger responsible for the health and welfare of all of our personal animal companions he treats, he is also indirectly responsible for the health of animal owners by preventing any animal diseases from spreading to humans.
