Although the cost of care is low, you get what you pay for…read more Our son was enrolled for about 8 months and we did love his main teacher, but the director has very little experience in childcare. Any concerns or questions are met with resistance and negativity. Often simply told they had other kids to care for etc. and they couldn't address our specific concerns (Our son was usually in a class of 4 or less, and sometimes even alone). We learned of some childcare regulations not being followed and filed a formal complaint. After that, we lost most of any communication we had. Our daycare teacher even snook out the back door and around bushes to talk to us, in fear of the director who told her not to..

When I discovered ILA it was like finding a hidden gem. The school has a family like atmosphere that made me comfortable and at ease immediately. I know my children are well cared for each day by their classroom teachers and the entire staff. As an educator in this center, I appreciate the freedom to design and implement lessons of interest to the children in my classroom. I am able to work individually with the kids to achieve personal goals because the class sizes are smaller. It feels great to form relationships with all my students and their families that are personal and meaningful!

Owner terminated services, without valid reason(s) for my infant and only gave me 2 days to find a different daycare. This is unprofessional and unacceptable. When I proceeded to calmly ask the reason why she began to scream at me in front of her staff and young students. I chose to walk away from her instead of engaging in this unprofessional and childish behavior. If this is any indication of the way her daycare is run I am glad I got my child out when I did because the owner often helps in the one classroom and I do not want my child around an individual that unstable and a poor role model such as herself. I would repeatedly get calls from the center stating that my child had a fever. I would leave work each time and take my child to the doctors. Each and every time the doctor stated that my child did not have any sort of fever. The room the infants is held in is extremely warm. They have had the windows open in the infant room and the window unit handle out for children to possibly trip and injure themselves on. Save yourself the headache and spend your hard earned money elsewhere.

This daycare doesn't clean with bleach and water to disinfect the toys, tables and everything else. The teacher's are using Lysol spray to "clean" the toys the children put in there mouths. My fiance went to spend time with our child one afternoon for a few hours and saw the teachers in her class feeding, wiping noses, changing diapers without washing there hands in between. You (your child) can get Hepatitis A from not washing hands after changing a diaper. I would never recommend this daycare to anyone. NOT CLEAN!!!!!!!

They do arts and crafts, holiday projects, alphabet projects, structured learning, trivia day where the kids bring in their own trivia questions to try and stump their friends (and Ms. Diane) show and tell and play time. They learn these super cute songs (Hickety Pickety Bumblebee is one of our favorites). Also breakfast, lunch and an afternoon snack for the kids is provided. They do letter of the week and also work with the younger kids with "word of the week" about how to spell common words we use everyday such as; the, am, I, see, they, have, play, and a lot more! My little one loves when her homework book comes home. She gets excited about telling me what word she has learned and what color she needs to be writing in her book to complete her assignment. The family that runs Home Away From Home are so incredibly nice and extremely qualified for the job. A whole portion of their house is dedicated to the daycare with bright fun colors on the walls, plenty of room for fun, games, and learning, lots of toys, and a big fenced in yard. They even have a toddler sized bathroom toilet that is low enough for my 3 year old to use on her own (which is making the process/transition of potty training extremely easy at home) and a small step stool is provided so she can reach the nobs of the sink. Since starting my daughter at HAFH almost a year ago, my little one has become extremely independent, curious and knowledgeable about her surroundings, she even started speaking more and more clearly while putting more and more words together in sentences. Attending this daycare has expanded her vocabulary and sentence structure beyond what I thought a 3 year old would be able to comprehend. The best part of my day is talking with my daughter while I make her dinner and she tells me everyone that she played with, all the things she did and learned, and how excited she is to go back the following day to see everyone again and have another fun learning adventure. This is such a wonderful place. I wouldn't want to send Squirt anywhere else.
