If you read my reviews you know my family LOVES ice cream on vacation. We have been around the…read moreworld and tried a lot of parlors (not just freezers with store bought ice cream). Visiting my family farm for the first time since Covid, we came across this little parlor in Lexington, TN just 15 mins off I-40 and it was a game changer! Located in a little shopping village, it's not very big and offers limited seating and can get crowded inside, but I don't think expected a family of 10 to come calling at 8:00pm either. It's a cute place with plenty of freezers and coffee offerings. With around 18 flavors to choose from we overwhelmed the poor gal working the counter with requests for testing the unique offerings (blackberry cornbread, honey roasted pistachio, banana pudding). The ice cream is hand crafted and shipped from Nashville, so it qualifies as homemade: The ice cream itself is flavorful, creamy, and you can taste the ingredients it offers. The waffle cones are made fresh and don't taste like styrofoam like so many parlors can. I went with the banana pudding and pralines and cream but will come back for the honey roasted pistachio before I leave. At the End of the Day 10 people got an assortment of ice cream for less than $60 and that is incredible considering the quality of ice cream. It's a 5 star for the ice cream but a solid 4 for the entire experience on this visit. If you are driving around I-40 or this area it is worth your time and money to drop in!!!

I ordered the $7 meal deal in the drive-through. I had to…read morerepeat my order two times, not just because i wasn't heard. I was halfway through my order and the guy taking the order asked me to start over. He stopped me a second time and I restarted the order. I completely understand that at times, food service can get a rush. on the order was a burger, a drink, fries and a strawberry shake. I got back on I-40 and started towards Memphis, I look in the bag and I did not get my strawberry sundae. And while I should have double-checked in the bag. if you've ever been on I-40 in Tennessee, you know the next exits are 12 miles either way. it wasn't until I got 4 miles east of Parkers Crossroads I realized I hadn't gotten my strawberry sundae. The kid who handed me my order said "Here's the rest of your order." and NOT in a Customer Service manner. Yes, it was on me to double-check my order, but the kid wasn't in the greatest of moods and instead of making his day worse...I continued driving even after I knew my order was incomplete. During the order, the ordertaker was pretty abrupt and for some reason when he handed me my order his voice was raised. I didn't do anything but try to commiserate with his long day. it seemed to irritate him more, being nice to him. I waited at least 15 minutes behind 2 other cars. No one inside smiled nor thanked me for my business. I will be coming back through Parkers Crossroads. I love Dairy Queen. However, I won't be visiting this location again, even if it's the last business open. I'll drive 15 minutes to Lexington instead, rather than wait to get an incomplete order.
