While it is on the pricey side, which is…read morewhy I mostly window-shopped during my time as a poor college student at OSU, now as an alumni I love to come in on football weekends and pick up some cute orange gear as well as browse the excellent NorthFace selection that is frequently carried in smaller sizes than other shops. The main reason for my 5-star rating is due to the level of service that I received with my latest purchase. During the coldest Bedlam game I have ever experienced, I stopped in looking for the warmest coat I could find. I found a great (and not cheap) puffy NorthFace jacket that I purchased and carried with me until the game started. Unfortunately when I put it on, I noticed several small slits at the bottom of the jacket where the stuffing was coming out. At the end of the game, we brought the jacket back and they offered to personally take the jacket to their NorthFace rep in Dallas to be either repaired or replaced under the NorthFace warranty. Unfortunately after inspection, the NorthFace rep could not help as it was apparently a burn and not a tear (which I am sure I did at some point when walking through numerous tailgates with heaters blazing). Nonetheless, the store manager offered to have it repaired at their tailor at no cost to me, and even had it shipped to my house in Tulsa! I greatly appreciated the level of service that I often do not experience at other retailers these days and plan to continue shopping at The Wooden Nickel in the future.

Within 30 minutes of the review, the owner called me to essentially chew me out. The call ended with me having to hang up on her mid sentence. Now the Google review is gone, which I can only imagine is because the owner reported it, even though it was not created in poor taste, vulgar, or incorrect. It's very sad that you can't post an honest opinion without worrying about the owner aggressively calling you to ask what your problem is.

I'm not really a commitment phobe, its just that the stylists always listened and did a great job, so I didn't feel like I needed to commit to one stylist. I have used their tanning salon in years past. The set up is well priced, clean, private, and they will check on you when time is up to ensure you are okay and safe. I have been meaning to go back to tanning there, I just haven't made the time. I have not participated in the mani pedi services in at least a decade. I usually do my own nails. Once I am retired from the military, however, its game on!
