Not only did he not try to sell me any services, he refused my offer to pay for this comprehensive introductory examination that was so instructive for me. (Dr Gilbert has a policy of not charging for first visits.) You cannot go wrong with Dr Gilbert. He is simply outstanding.

As soon as Gilbert was safely ready and allowed to open for appointments, Addie contacted us to come in. My kids were like, "heck no" we're not going...scary virus, and TBH we were also feeling a bit uncertain, but yesterday's experience was exemplary. Once scheduled, we received an appointment confirmation along with a Covid-19 survey for us to fill out. It was easy peasy and asked simple questions regarding our kids' basic health and possible exposure to coronavirus. The new process allows for patients, only, to enter the office with masks on for appointments. There is no waiting room option at this point in time. Parents should prepare to drop off their kiddos. Due to the fact that our appointment was a big progress check-in appointment, they set up a special time just for our family to come in. Again, masks required. They had us wait in our car to make sure the office was cleared of other patients and sanitized, and then they let us know when it was safe to go in. When we entered the office with masks on, Addie was right there with a table to greet us and take our temperatures. Boys were sent to the exam area, and we were sent to the office to meet with Dr. Gilbert. They make sure no one is left roaming around. After our appointment with Dr. Gilbert, we left our kiddos and went to the parking lot to wait for them. Once they were done, they were sent out of the office and out to our car. Love this office, and I'm so proud to be a client. Gilbert Orthodontics, you are doing an amazing job, and my kids love it there (except for the occasional sore teeth). Another 7-12 months to go!

Had two consultations here…read more First time was fantastic with an experienced orthodontist and she recommended waiting at least half a year to re-evaluate as my son needed more time to develop. She showed me all the x rays and photos. I set aside money and was ready to commit to this office. About a year later we came back. Different orthodontist and style. She recommended extracting permanent teeth before braces. Her approach was somewhat off putting. I didn't feel heard and didn't seem like they considered all options or even provided the pros/cons for evaluation. Felt like they want you just to accept their opinion without explanation. When I asked to get a copy of x rays, since it wasn't viewed this time, they charged $270 or $350 including photos.

We do need to follow up with an oral surgeon, which I expected, as I heard the same information from his previous dentist. I've been looking for a new dentist for a long time after so many bad experiences elsewhere. I have…read morea lot of dental anxiety due to a legit psychotic dentist when I was a kid/teen who lied to me on multiple occasions and claimed I had 23 cavities (no other dentist in the 20 years since then has been able to find those 23 cavities that I allegedly have, btw. I have only had 1 cavity in my entire life up until this year). That dentist also gave me a filling I didn't actually need, because she was like "oh turns out this isn't a cavity, it was just a stain. Oops!" after she started drilling. I also have brutal TMD that can sometimes lead to multi-day migraines after a routine visit, so I've been putting it off for an embarrassingly long time. I have been emailing different dentists for several years trying to find one who would let me do things on my terms (i.e., let me come in for a cleaning to ease myself back into it, but not get xrays during that visit, because that's what has caused my extreme migraines in the past). Everyone said no, except for Savin. I was impressed by the positive reviews on Yelp and Google, so, I bit the bullet and figured I'd finally come in for a very overdue cleaning and exam. Fortunately, I had a great experience here. I saw Dr. Evy, who is super nice. She did my cleaning and checked in frequently to make sure I was doing okay. I ended up having 2 cavities, which honestly I expected much worse given how long it's been. She filled them earlier this week, and it wasn't as traumatizing as I expected it to be :) She even managed to fill one on my upper wisdom tooth, which is super hard to reach, so that's impressive. I had to come back a few days later for one to be filed down a bit because I was too numb to be able to tell if it was too high, and she fit me in quickly and took care of it. And, so no migraines after any visit, which is a relief. The front desk staff are super nice as well -- very friendly, seem to genuinely be happy to be there (even at 7:30 in the morning), and extremely helpful. The hygienists/assistants who helped out with both my cleaning and filling visits were great as well. I'm super relieved to have found a dentist office that doesn't make me overly dread coming in. They're also setting me up with a TMD nightguard, so I'm hoping that'll help with that, too.

Since the end of the pandemic, I have been going to Northbrook Dental Care for hygiene…read moreappointments. My daughter and husband have been going there for many years before I did. Dr. Jay Rodgers is the owner, and he has a team of nice and skillful hygienists and technicians. I have been happy with my hygienist Hallie, who's very kind, skillful, and accommodating. She has excellent memories of what I like and don't like, making each appointment pleasant and successful. I have been waiting for some dental work to be done by Dr. Rodgers before I write a review. Now is the time! I used to think that Dr. Rodgers was a person of no-nonsense. Every time he would quickly check my teeth, recommended what needs to be done, and then hurried into another patient's room. However, I found out from the recent experience that he is actually very kind and compassionate, and is also very respectful of my choices. The dental work was pretty "complicated", which involved removal of an old crown that was done by another dental practice years ago, but it was not done right back then, and he detected decay developed inside. He would then install two new crowns, one to the adjacent tooth that was prepared by another practice a long time ago. There was an old filling to be replaced as well. I called Dr. Rodgers' office with questions, one of his receptionists, Dianka, is always very nice and helpful, she had Dr. Rodgers call me back after his appointments. He called me back and spent 15 minutes patiently answering all my questions and explaining everything that needed to be done. I was impressed. The dental work involved 3 appointments, with the second appointment being the main one and was the longest, like 2 to 3 hours long, with breaks. Dr. Rodger's assistant, Erika, was very kind and professional too. Dr, Rodger was(is) very skillful, professional, and kind, and actually checked on me several times to make sure that I was doing fine and comfortable. His chair-side manners were just excellent. Although dental work is no fun to be sure, I didn't feel any pain or discomfort. I could even eat an hour later! The most important thing is, the crowns look so good and natural that even my husband and daughter could not tell which ones were crowns. They both guessed the canine. No, that was wrong. I am so happy with the results! I will not hesitate to see Dr. Rodgers and his team for future dental work. Next time, I will not be losing any sleep before the appointments, as I know that I am in good hands!

I always felt at ease at this practice. Dr. Rodgers is the only dentist there and he is the owner. He has a great team of hygienists, who are all very friendly and professional. My hygienist is always very prompt, thorough, and makes sure that I leave the clinic with a shiny smile. Whenever Dr. Rodgers checked on my teeth, he has been very professional and informative. I felt fortunate every time he (and my previous dentists) marveled at me still having all 32 teeth without any cavities. About a year ago, I accidentally bit very hard on a bone and one of my lower front teeth became loose, which I could wiggle it with my fingers. I thought the tooth would come off and I went to see Dr. Rodgers on an emergency basis. Surprisingly, he told me not to worry about it after checking on the tooth. He is right - a year later, my tooth still sits tightly in its socket and is now back to normal. I like the overall experience at Northbrook Dental Care, and highly recommend it.

Without fail, every single dentist and hygienist admires my bonding and says they would never know the tooth was bonded, saying how the color and translucency are so natural. And it's lasted 22 years, a long time especially given that it's on an upper front tooth and I have Bruxism (grind/clench teeth, wear a mouthguard) Dr Milin's work was more than high quality- it has certainly passed the test of time. (In fact my family has over many years experienced only state of the art in all of his procedures). Case in point: Last Fall I went thru a very painful tooth extraction (hence the implant) . Once Dr.Milin got involved I was steered to the best team possible to get the tooth out, the surgery done to prepare for the implant (Oral surgeon Dr. David Barack in Skokie is great) and the final step, the tooth itself. Combined with his technical skills is his delightful chair side manner. He is totally focused on the patient .and is available 24/7 if you need him, as I did.
