I had been dreading my son's first dental appointment since the day he was born (an exaggeration,…read moreof course, but not far off). Made an appointment with Dr. Suzy after reading the favorable reviews on Yelp. Prior to the actual appointment, Dr. Suzy came out and spent time inquiring about my son's hygiene habits and even offered proactive tips. I was floored at how well the actual appointment and cleaning went. Sure, the five minutes felt like an hour as I held my son down while he whimpered, but Dr. Suzy and the hygienist sang the entire time while my son's nanny and I cheered him on. Afterward, he was rewarded with a balloon and life was good again. The woman at the front desk was incredibly friendly as well- introduced herself. She also helped me verify my out-of-network dental insurance benefits. Personal responsibility goes a long way, people!

I have BCBS of IL dental insurance (reputable, good coverage). The fact that the contracting with insurance and the leg work of insurance reimbursement is not handled by the office, but instead left to the patient, is in my opinion nothing short of a racket. I have not received reimbursement from my insurance and now it's my responsibility to call BCBS, sit on hold, wait for a reimbursement check. Hours of my time that should have been handled by the Grins administrative office. If you have money to flush down the toilet - this practice is great. If not - do not recommend. I will not be going back.

This is my son's (5y) second dentist and he already had 7 cavities filled here. There are a lot of…read morethings I like about them: - Covid measures are comprehensive and serious. I've seen a variety of measures in dental offices and I felt really safe in their practice. - Laura and other front desk staff are so organized and efficient, and communication has been super easy. They really make a big difference to keep things running smoothly. - Dr Simon and her assistance are great. Dr Simon is fast doing the dental procedures and her assistance works seamlessly with her, which works so great for the short focus span for kids. Unlike our last dentist, Dr Simon doesn't put on anesthesia and walk away. She stayed with us the whole time in every visit, which made things go faster and helps my son stay calm in a stable environment. - Genuinely nice and caring people. As first time parent I certainly was not prepared for how bumpy the kid dental visits can be. All the people mentioned above gave us so much encouragement and support throughout! - Last and so importantly, most of our appointments were right on time, and for only once we had to wait for 15min. All in all, highly recommend!

The manner in which they handled my nervous children to my young adult who needed some pointers on the best way to floss etc. etc. as simply assisted my children and having really great teeth and a great deal of respect for their dentist. In the beginning they were scared to go to the dentist but after the first couple of visits they felt more and more comfortable because everyone there was so welcoming and kind. I would definitely recommend them!

We brought our toddler for her first dental visit after preparing her in advance by talking about…read morethe dentist and practicing at home. Unfortunately, the experience felt rushed and not developmentally appropriate for a first visit. The office itself is very overstimulating (arcade-like waiting area, open bay with multiple chairs, loud cartoons), which may work for some children but was overwhelming for ours. Once we were brought back, the hygienist lowered the chair without warning or explanation, which immediately frightened our child and caused significant distress. As she became increasingly upset, the response was to suggest holding her hands and legs to continue the exam. For a non-urgent, first visit, this did not feel appropriate to us. During this time, a second hygienist made joking comments and laughed about our child's distress, which felt unprofessional and dismissive. When we chose to end the visit, we were told "it will be the same next time," rather than discussing alternative, child-centered approaches. This was surprising, as we have had very different experiences at other pediatric dental practices where first visits focus on comfort, narration, and gradual exposure rather than restraint. Parents considering this office should be aware of the approach used here and decide whether it aligns with their expectations for a child's first dental experience.
