I recently bought a used 2017 Chevrolet Tahoe from Lipscomb Chevrolet, and the experience has been extremely disappointing. Not long after purchasing I had to replace the water temp sensor. Now, there is a message to service suspension system. Our salesman Drew said that we could make an appointment and they would take a look at the shocks that they replaced to see if they were faulty. I contacted the service department to make an appointment and they told me I would have to leave my vehicle there for a couple of DAYS. I told them that this is the only transportation that gets me to and from work that I would need a loaner vehicle. They said that they are booked out months in advance for loaner vehicles that I should contact my salesman to see if he could put me in a loaner vehicle. When I reached out for help, my salesman, Drew, told me that his manager said I bought a used 2017 vehicle and that they "can barely get customers who purchased new vehicles into a loaner." That kind of response says everything about how they treat customers after the sale. It's frustrating to spend this much money on a vehicle and get no support when something goes wrong--especially for work they've already done. I expected better accountability and customer service. If you're considering buying here, be cautious. Get everything in writing and don't expect much help once you've signed the papers. read more

This is a long, but thorough review! I will give you the basics. Made an appointment and a few days prior to the date my car died on me in Dallas. My engine was hot and sluggish going up inclines. I turned it in and it took 16 days and cost me $3,646.40. They gave me a gray Chevy Spark loaner and it died on me while out with my kid. Colton came and replaced it with an all electric vehicle, that only had 190 miles that I could use, but I have 3 jobs. I gave it back, since my car was not fixed then got another car for the time being. While my car was there with my custom paint job, bird poo and feathers cooked on the paint job due to it being parked under bird areas and not being covered. I still have not been able to get all the feathers out of my paint job. Once my vehicle was "supposedly" fixed. I was told the 150,000 mile check up, flushed my coolant systems, new hoses, an oil change and cooler kit cost. $3,646.40. Now the sad part was I paid $1981.00 in labor alone and about $1,000 in parts. I had my car 2 days and it died on me again while I was at a convention in Dallas 230 miles away from the dealership that said all was well. I had to figure out how to get it back to this dealership on my own. August 21,2024. On 26Aug24, I brought my car back since it died on my and the issues was the same. I paid for things in my car and almost 2K in labor and my car was still broken. This time they had my car for 1 month and this time said it was my alternator and my battery was low. Well if paid for inspections and diagnostics. The first time I brought the car in yet no one noticed something was wrong with my alternator so say so after $2000 came out of my pocket told some basic things that should've caught the first time and cost me a third of the price to fix. At this point I was beyond stressed, disappointed, and in a financial bind. This time the new total was $1,046.04 . Labor cost me another $355.00 and parts $608.86. My car sat in the dealership yard for 1/2 a month again, I did get a loaner, but just needed them to fix the car they misdiagnosed the first time. The service department staff was nice, but I did have to call and figure out the status of my vehicle a lot the second time around, which is not great. I drove by multiple times and noticed it was parked in the same spot. Due to it sitting the hot Texas sun for about 2 months not covered. When I got my car back all of the window tint in the vehicle was warped due to the heat. Now it must be replaced. I was driving and maintenance code 82 popped up on my dash . I do not know what could be the issue now, since I have this dealership $4,692.44 in less than 2 months for an older vehicle that should have had all the systems reset after the 150,000 mile maintenance I completed the first time. Herb Easley has quicker turn around and can be cheaper, but Lipcomb has better customer service, but may have your car longer or not find the issues. Since they service the police cars in town it does slow down the maintenance department. I come from a family of auto mechanics, and I feel like this situation could have been quicker, cheaper, less stressful if this business would have listened to my concerns and issue about the vehicle when I brought it in the first time. Not Happy. Firestone recommended this dealership, stating they were small and less busy, so they provide faster service. They are less busy. But to say they provide fast service is a gross misconception. Been here for 6 hours and they haven't touched my vehicle. No wonder they would rather you drop it off and leave. Then you would not see how little they work. They won't take appointments either, which is very annoying. Nice people, but poor service. Maybe they're understaffed. read more

They lied to me and said my catalytic converter was an after market and it was welded on so therefore any warranty will be void. They also took a picture of a catalytic converter that isn't mine cuz mine has a GM stamp on it and I just had a new one installed and did not have to cut the old one off like they told me I would. We are from out of state and were trying to get back home when our a/c went out. Even though they were busy, they took us right in, found the problem, gave an estimate and squeezed us in for the repair, which by the way, the repair came in quite a bit under the estimate. Ryan is the most wonderful guy there. He was so helpful. He never gave up on my sister-in-law, which is very very picky about vehicles. He listened to everything she said and worked his magic on getting her in her now new truck. We went all-around town that day and had the most worst experience. The sales representative Ethan Oden that attended me wasn't very knowledgeable about the vehicle he showed us, he didn't even take me around the lot to check out other vehicles. Aftet purchasing the vehicle just a couple of days later the Check Engine Light comes on so I took to the dealership and they said it was an O2 sensor so they replaced it just 1wk later the Engine light came on so I took it back and now they said it was the Main mass sensor I dropped it off and they had for a few days because I was on vacation and they were test driving it to make sure everything was Ok. Well after getting it back just a couple of days later the light comes again and they still can't figure out what's causing it. At this point I'm very frustrated and very impatient. I called the Main Manager and all he could say was that its under warranty and the repairs will be at no cost to you. I asked about trading it in for another car he didn't say anything he kept changing the subject. Now the service center has my car. They gave me a rental I've even told them that another Dealership is willing to PAYOFF MY CAR AND GIVE ME 4times more the KELLY BLUE BOOK and I can get a newer car. They said nothing their eyes just widened and were like in shock or something, like they didn't want to lose me as a customer. But after 3-4 time in the shop it's RIDICULOUS. read more

We purchased a 2009 Suburban 2500 at Lipscomb Burkburnett in April 2014. We are a large family with 6 children and wanted a vehicle that could pull a 30+ foot camping trailer and seat our family. Lipscomb searched and found us this vehicle in PA, had it delivered to Burkburnett, and inspected it. We purchased the extended warranty to further protect ourselves because it was almost 5 years old. We took it home and had it custom fitted with navigation and DVD player. When getting brakes done this spring, we noticed that the underside of the vehicle was extremely rusted/corroded especially the wheels, axles, and brake mechanisms (apparently the emergency brake had been corroded so badly it had never even released since we bought it - gas mileage was terrible). Then, the rear end seals started leaking...we've had them replaced three times since April, and they are leaking again. After taking the vehicle to an independent repair shop, they immediately reported to us the extensive rust/corrosion damage and stated that the rear axle/housing/hub bearing all need replaced because the metal is pitted and flaking off because of the rust/corrosion. After contacting our extended warranty rep, we were informed that it doesn't cover any parts that are damaged by rust/corrosion and that the dealer shouldn't have sold us that warranty because the rust/corrosion has obviously been there a long time (according to the warranty inspector) and shouldn't have even passed the 21 point inspection at the dealership. So now we have a vehicle that we paid $30,000+ for, that needs extensive/expensive repairs and will likely continue to need major repairs as the rust/corrosion continues to cause damage. I am the only income for my family (and teacher salary at that) since my husband is disabled, so we can't just go out and throw thousands of dollars at this vehicle that will likely continue to develop more serious issues as the rust/corrosion takes it's toll. I don't want money or sympathy from Lipscomb. I just want them to make this right. Their only suggestion is to cancel the extended warranty (since it won't cover anything on this rusted/corroded vehicle) and use the refund from that to help pay for the needed repairs. The extensive rust/corrosion shouldn't have passed the inspection, and it should have been disclosed to us before purchase. I shouldn't have to expect to need to crawl under an "inspected" vehicle myself before agreeing to purchase it. I should be able to trust that the "inspection" checked for major issues, including extensive rust/corrosion, and that I can trust my dealership to not sell me something dishonestly. read more
