I have been to the new store on Via Inspirada a few times since it opened. I am a senior citizen and have been asked for my I.D. every time I have been there. Its' not enough to just show it, they advise me it is store policy to scan all driver licenses. This is ridiculous! I certainly don't mind showing it however, I view the scanning as an invasion of my privacy. I will no longer shop there if this is their mode of operation. The next time I go in there, I will refuse to allow the scanning. If they choose to refuse the sale, so be it. There are plenty of other large scale operations such as Lee's Liquors and Total Wine. read more

I went to several stores looking for a special wine for my cousins birthday. This event was quite special as she and her boyfriend came to Las Vegas from St. Louis. We met them there and had a marvelous time. Liquor World was so on point with what I was looking for..... they had it! But there was very little beer and hardly any tobacco products when we visited. Hopefully, they are better stocked now. But please avoid this place at late night hours and if on foot. Listen, we went to this place and successfully bought booze, let's not exaggerate. But I have never been in a retail establishment that smelled quite like this. I don't know if a sewage line recently ruptured, or if there's a sulfur issue, but this place smells like a dirty diaper ate a burrito and took a dump into another dirty diaper. Liquor World is in kind of a sketch spot. I found this place while staying at the MGM not too long ago. In the efforts of trying to save time, my wife was checking us into our room and I decided to cross the street to get some booze. Liquor World is on the South East side of the strip east of Hooters and Coco's breakfast joint, it's about a 10 minute walk from the MGM lobby. The store appears to be ran down a bit, but it's certainly a better option for buying beer and liquor than anywhere else on the strip. Walgreens has a good liquor selection with similar pricing, however this place was closer and more conveniant. When you enter, there's a case on the left loaded with glass wear for smoking, the middle of the floor is normally filled with ice and cheap cans of Bud, Coors, Mikes etc. The left wall is where you'll find the liquor. They have 1/5ths and 1/2 gallons available for purhcase. There wasn't a specific liquore I wasn't able to find. The mixers get spendy, they wanted about $10 for a gallon of Cranberry juice, where as Walgreens had a half gallon of cranberry juice for $5. A half gallon was a lot more reasonable than a full gallon. Service was helpful, but the place is ran down as mentioned. I was in Vegas 1 week ago and Walgreens had just about everything Liquor World had, except it was cleaner and easier accessed via those on the strip. read more

The only positive about this place is the fact that it's a convenient location (hard to find a package goods without driving for a few miles). While it is a few miles from the Strip hotels, the fact that they prices are extremely outrageous (even for Vegas) is a slap in the drunken face!!! The store is tiny and crammed. This location is right across from the MGM Grand, so it is very close to the strip so it is extremely convenient for anyone who has forgotten something. The price seems a little more expensive than some other liquor stores (it is by the strip so what do you expect?). Employees of any casino receive a 25% discount (show employee ID). read more

I experienced the most unpleasant human encounter today at Liquor World. They have hired the RUDEST cashier on the planet!! I guess your not allowed to ask if they carry something your looking for. The young girl with tattooed arms working the counter made it seem like I was annoying her by asking where the waters were, as if it was obvious they were located in the back corner. Then, after calling my wife a "princess" for asking to pay with cash instead of a card to avoid the $1 fee, she proceeds to throw the change down on the counter in front of me instead of simply handing it to me like a normal person would. The last time in Kauai I bought a bottle of Koloa rum at Costco for $20, did some research on my last trip to Vegas, they carried it, at the same price they paid on the island it was distilled on, yeah I'll see them again Wednesday morning.
