I would love to be able to recommend a local business, but it just isn't possible with Liquorama. The staff is not friendly, the prices are on the high side and the selection is mediocre at best. The thing that really irked me is they have a 10% off wine on the local coupon card. When I tried to use the card I was told a combination of "this wine is on sale so the card doesn't apply" along with the "discount is only a dollar or two so it's not worth it". Do yourself a favor and shop somewhere else. read more

I have been shopping at Liquorama for more than five years why I've never posted a review is beyond me so today's that day. The staff has always been above excellent they're very knowledgeable and helpful as well. If you have a larger order, they will most likely carry it out to the car for you and their prices seem to be reasonable. They also have a rewards club if you spend a certain amount of money that they will give you a three dollar discount when you meet that goal. read more

I'm not fluent in Urdu or Punjab, just Romance languages, so my experience at this store was abysmal because I did not understand a word what these people were saying All I wanted to know was sulfite content of certain red wines and was told, "Perhaps you should not buy any wine." Very disappointing experience. Ordered online for pick up. Immediately received email saying order was processed and I should wait for follow-up email saying order was ready. Waited 5 hrs and decided to stop by and see what was going on. Man behind counter had an attitude when I asked if order was ready. I told him my name and handed me bottle, saying nothing. Next time I will drive extra 20 min and go to Viscount, where I have always received top notch customer service. read more

Liquorama remains my "go-to" liquor store in Hyde Park, though ironically I'm not actually going to the store to shop. These days, I'm taking advantage of their online ordering options, of which there are two. If you use Liquorama's website, you can scan their entire inventory, including specials, and order from it. But you, or someone else, must still enter the store to pick up the liquor, and display proper ID if they don't already know you. Liquorama also advertises on their website that you can order via Drizly, and it is, as far as I can tell, the only local liquor store that shows up on Drizly as available for the immediate area from which to select. The Liquorama website says delivery within an hour; Drizly has updated their site saying it could be longer based on demand, but when I tried it, I received my order in almost exactly an hour. Drizly also won't necessarily show all of the current specials, but they may have their own deals and rewards if you're a member. As things begin to ease up, it's not obvious that these options will continue to be necessary, but it's been nice that Liquorama has widened their options. read more

Wonderful selection of wines and liquor with an extremely nice and helpful staff! I always stop here for my favorite Brotherhood wine.

False advertising. Just left this business very disappointed. They refused to honor their miniscule $2.50 off coupon on my purchase, stating that the restriction is printed on the coupon. The products I attempted to purchase were "yellow dot", and the only thing printed on their coupon was "excludes red dot items". Either incompetence or just not caring about their customers. Either way, I won't be back. read more

People here are great. Very knowledgable and always willing to help. As a wine student I am definitely not the corner liquor store type so I really love the feel of this place. The store is set up in a a way that is easy to navigate, but the workers are still more than happy to help if it is needed. read more

--service reigns over food, every time-- Liquorama, the Hudson Valley's no frills wine shop, is located in the heart of the retail ghost town that is Hyde Park Mall (Dutchess County is notorious for these failed developments with Disneyland parking lots; unsightly!). Once in the store, however, one realizes the beauty of this fine store. For example, the customer service is definitely above average for the Hudson Valley, and this wine shop is clean, organized, and intuitively laid out. And when you cannot find something, or simply aren't sure, experienced winos are to the rescue. Absolutely love the rear of the store as this special room is dedicated to Old Worlds. Here you'll find all great Bordeaux Premier Grand Crus: LaTour, Margeaux, haut-brion, etc., along with wonderful rhones, Champagne, and an extensive port collection. As you move toward the front you'll peruse the Californias, Oregons, Wash.s, then finally S. American and Australia toward the entrance of the store. This is the greatest convenience of Liquorama, its wonderful assortment. I've been here for a $13 bottle of shit on a stick all the way up to a beautiful '97 Rubicon. And they have everything in between. Ultimately a fine little shop, highly recommended. Now hear this: be weary of the newly enlightened (and annoying) CIA kiddies fresh out of their required Wines and Beverages course, shunning merlot and praising the all mighty Iron Horse... they love it here. read more

I am highly disappointed with Liquorama. I was just in this store a month ago when I visited my in-laws. I have made it a point to visit them every time in the area (at least once a month). They tend to have bottles of bourbon that I can't find back home. Last month I purchased two Weller 107 at $39.99 each and another seasonal release bourbon and spent just under $200. I walked in today and what do I see? That same bottle of Weller is now $93.99, Weller 12 year for $125 (actual retail is some where around $59), Elmer T Lee for $100 (retail on this bottle is $36-$39). So what Liquorama has elected to do is sell these and other bottles at the secondary market prices and rip off its customers because these bourbon are some what allocated. They are not rare or seasonal bourbons, they are some what hard to find, but not impossible. Well it goes with out saying that I will no longer spend my money at this business. It's one thing to mark up your bottles $10 or $20. But when you mark up bottles 200% or more at the expense of your customers is unethical... that's where I draw the line. I rather spend my usual $200 at another store. read more

Well I just left here and I will never go back! I was not buying liquor and I was just carded for standing next to my boyfriend. Since I was not purchasing anything I did not bring in my wallet. I was made to go out to my car and bring my ID in when I was not purchasing anything. I'm 30 ! Sorry but I will take my business elsewhere! You are way over priced anyway read more

Very disappointed in the customer service. I was nearly turned away from making a $70+ purchase on wine for my family's Passover Seder because I entered the store with my younger sister who is 20 years old. The cashier was extremely rude in asking for our ID's before even setting the bottles on the counter. I happily obliged (I am 26 years old). However, she would not accept my ID alone even though I was the one making the purchase. She demanded to see my sister's ID as well and refused to sell me the wine when my sister could not supply an ID. I was appalled. We left the store and I went back in alone to make my purchase and there was still hesitation from the staff as to whether they should serve me. I couldn't believe they nearly refused to serve someone who is of legal drinking age because a 20 year old accompanied me inside. To be clear, no one else in line was asked to show ID as quickly and as rudely as I was. They have lost a customer in me. I will find more friendly and accommodating places to purchase my liquor in the future. read more

I agree 100% with Matthew regarding Liquorama in Hyde Park, NY. I have known Dom the owner since the seventies and Maggie the current manage since the mid eighties. Great price performing wines up front and the cream of the crop in the back. Can't find something or need something special ordered, don't fret, they will get it done. AND, AND you won't find deeper discounts anywhere. I was involved with the early start of the wine courses at the CIA (Culinary Institute of America) in the late seventies. Shame they are directing the students these days to high end homogenized California blends at ridiculous prices. They should be teaching them to explore, taste and make their own decisions. Nothing like a paper bag blind tasting to set the record right. Price and label do no make a good or great wine. Nature and people do. Nuff said. read more
