I wanted to take my bestie for the scrub/massage for her Christmas gift and figured since I have the free one, I will join her (we always go together anyways) We are just booking for May 9th as with life this was the only time we could get in together. Well Frank just called and said he did not offer me a free one and that I got a discount that day. I said OK sure I got a discount but 88$ for a sugar scrub ok whatever. He made it seem like I needed the free service, I don't I can pay for myself but when you are offered a free service for the service you didn't get then to now turn around and change your mind and say you don't remember saying that, is crazy to me. Today, I decided to visit their spa. I sent an email to book appointment the same day and in a span of five minutes I got a call from Frank to arrange the schedule. I am so glad he accommodated us for the service. I was able to booked a couples massage and also scheduled a hair appointment for me as well same day at 2 pm. Since we are only visiting Windsor for the weekend. For my hair, I chose to get a Balayage, a technique that gives a subtle, blended look. My hairdresser, Marianne, listens to what I wanted for my hair & she. gave recommendations. She spent a good 3 hours on it, and I must say, she did an incredible job, she took time and focused, I like the way she is being nice. The result of my hair service was a balanced and softer look that I loved. The business owner also checked on me from time to time. Next came the couples massage, our first time at the spa. It was truly fantastic, especially for my husband, who experienced a strong Thai massage from a skilled practitioner. My husband was so happy with it. But unfortunately with my massage therapist, I find it is an "ok" service. I would say from 1-10 points , I will give her only 6 points because she forgot to massage my both arms. I had didn't quite meet my expectations like the full body massage. It lacked the desired pressure and technique, leaving me feeling unsatisfied and tense afterward. At first, She was not able to introduce herself, I find her timid and not friendly. The ambiance at La Vida is upscale and the salon feels above average. Clean and smells good inside. They have different rooms for various services, which adds to the experience. While the cost is a bit on the higher side, the top-notch service of the business owners / reception host , my hairdresser and one of the massage therapist who is from Thailand justifies everything. I found this clinic online and decided to give it a try since I know that therapists in Canada receive great training, and it was only about 45 minutes from me. When I arrived, there were three people at the desk. They looked at me but kept talking to each other for a couple of minutes and then asked when my appointment was. Not super friendly like I'm used to. Filled out the paperwork and met my therapist (also not very warm). I tried to be very clear with my therapist about the areas that I wanted her to focus on, and I told her that I like really strong pressure. Unfortunately, the pressure wasn't deep. I asked for firmer pressure during the massage, but overall it was too gentle. Also didn't focus enough on problem areas as I had requested. No follow up as far as what to do after the massage (drink water, take it easy, stretches for problem areas, etc.) Just not very involved. In summation, it wasn't bang for my buck. Didn't hate it but left disappointed. Made me miss my therapist in SC. I'm not picky...I don't need frills...but a little more friendliness and warmth and a good listening ear might bring me back. Maybe someone else had a great experience, and I just got in there on a bad day. Meh.
