I recently purchased my wedding dress off the rack from Lisa's and I had a great experience. The other reviews here seem quite outdated and the staff at Lisa's were very kind and professional during my visits. At my first appointment, I got to try on a variety of dresses and my bridal consultant Tatiane had pulled several dresses for me ahead of time based on my preferences. She also offered a lot of helpful feedback and tips of what to look for in a dress and what modifications can be made. I'm very indecisive and I felt that Tatiane did an excellent job of guiding me towards finding my ideal dress. Communication after my appointment was also very prompt when I requested more information about the dresses I liked. When I finally decided on my dress, Tatiane was kind enough to put it on hold until my appointment to go try it again. Overall I enjoyed my experience at Lisa's. I especially liked the large variety of dresses they carry and I'm very happy to have found my dress off the rack so I don't have to worry about ordering. Yesterday I was in new Westminster with a friend and my fiancé, visiting the food truck festival. We walked by Lisa's Bridal Salon, which prompted me to exclaim how much I hate that place. In 2002, I made the biggest mistake of my life: I got married. (I have since gotten a divorce.) I was young and stupid, and it being my first wedding, I was doing all the traditional wedding things, such as wedding dress shopping. My bridesmaids and I went to New West to start my wedding dress search. We walked into Lisa's Bridal Salon, which was empty, and were met with disgust and distain, and told with a snotty attitude that we needed an appointment. (Uh, what's wrong with walking in TO make an appointment?!) We told the rude woman that we were looking for wedding dresses, and the second she heard the word "wedding", she treated us like royalty. We booked an appointment and came back an hour or so later. When we arrived, the store was still empty except for a couple of teenagers (who were in no way being obnoxious) finishing up with their prom dress purchases. When they left, the woman made a rude comment about them (I no longer remember what, but I recall the incident). Clearly she had no respect for customers, unless they were purchasing wedding dresses, which was the reason why we were treated so shabbily when we initially walked in -- she assumed we were teenagers wanting to purchase a $300 prom dress instead of a $3000 wedding dress. Anyway, not only were the dresses quite expensive, but they were ugly. There wasn't one dress that appealed to me, and when I told the woman what I was looking for/what style I liked, she pressured me to try on dresses I had no interest in (back then, as a kid barely out of high school with no self-esteem, I wasn't very assertive). She also barged in on me as I was changing, and forced an ugly dress on me, scratching my arms with all the gaudy beading adorning the dress. So, to summarize, I hate Lisa's because: 1. The employees there were fucking rude, treating their customers like shit unless they were buying a wedding dress. 2. The sales woman I dealt with was pushy and wouldn't listen to my preferences, and didn't respect people's boundaries. 3. The dresses were ugly and very expensive. I didn't buy a dress there, obviously, and instead, I bought a dress from a nearby store, for $400, from a person who didn't treat me like garbage or judge me and make assumptions based on my appearance. It all started more than a year ago when I stepped in the salon, alone , looking for an Essence of Australia gown, Lisa didn't carry it so had to order. My first encounter was with a mature lady Kristin, who appeared to be ecstatic that I was alone " as usually brides family tend to be fussy " according to her. I was more interested in what I found in Essence website than to listen to her long story about how her daughter was still unmarried. She was very quick to give her opinion while I clearly laid out to her what I wanted. I felt the general attitude of the a lady left a lot to be desired. She was hovering around her fake jewellery stand, not knowing that in some cultures only the real bling like De Beers and Cartier or genuine gold will do... I did feel sorry for her. Next appointment, I was greeted by another lady, Julie, another one with a chip on her shoulder, her general attitude and demeanour suggested more that she was unfit to work with brides and families who could afford a 4000 $ dress. When the alterations time came, I had to come 3 times for the trial, Gaby, was very nice and altered the top of the dress but still did not alter the hem as instructed and I was charged for it. I've revised my review as I did get the dress I wanted and the French Québécoise lady working there was fantastic and I could speak in my native language with her. I came to Lisa's Bridal looking for a simple grad dress, with no idea for what I wanted, save for "no sequins, nothing too flashy, a bit of lace" as my criteria. The lady at the front desk immediately helped me get started by bringing a couple of designs that might work, which really helped give a clearer sense of what I wanted. Man, the stylist ladies that help you out with suggestions when you try on the dress--they're godsends. The lady that helped me was inconceivably nice and extremely thorough with her expert suggestions, and had a bomb sense of humour! Ended up finding the perfect dress, which, in her words, "fits like a glove": immediately followed by a "thank you for giving birth to this" to my mom. The process they run you through after purchasing a dress (in my case) is pretty simple: Place half of your dress price in as a deposit, determine a date for alterations (you have to bring your shoes), they alter+dryclean+check the dress for issues, and then you pay the rest of the half and for the alterations. They've got a super efficient system going, so huge thumbs up for the great experience! read more

The dresses are gorgeous here and the consultants really know the inventory. They have a very good selection of modern dresses. The space itself is very small and somewhat crowded. There also isn't a lot of privacy when trying on dresses as the space is very open. The dresses here are pricier than the other new west stores, but they do carry a wider range of romantic/timeless dresses. They are also the only store in the GVRD that has Allure Bridal gowns. This is great store if you are looking for a lace gown and have a budget of $2500+. They do have dresses under that, but you need to factor in taxes/alterations etc. read more

BRIDES BEWARE*** This Bridal Salon does NOT even deserve one star. The customer service and product quality our bridal party received from this establishment was disgusting. Our overpriced dresses came with defects and when we had to drive an additional 1.5 hours from Kitsilano to right THEIR wrong they refused to compensate for any time or inconvenience. Not that we would normally expect things like that but our dresses came in almost two months later than they originally said, leaving us to use three different seamstresses to alter five dresses in the short time before the wedding. As the alterations were being measured on the Maid of Honours dress is when the defect was noticed. All in all they've made this beautiful experience stressful and angering. The manager is rude, abbraisive, condescending, and disrespectful. Please save your pockets and your patience!! Try one of the MANY other surrounding bridal shops. I am going to be a bride in 2017 and there is NO WAY on Mother Nature's green earth I would EVER EVER EVER even think about stepping foot in this trashy disgusting place. read more

This was the second shop I visited on bridal row, there was a few dresses I liked, but their service turned me off and I did not buy from them. When I arrived with an appointment, they barely greeted usand asked us to wait. They were late and very rushed. When I was finally allowed to look at dresses I was told that my sales lady would be with me later after she had lunch (this was 5PM) and I felt terrible for her. Once my appointment got going the girl was very helpful, but me being indecisive and wanted to look at other stores, so I asked for the information of a few dresses to be written down. She was not forth coming with information at all. She told me that they didn't have the designer or style number until you paid. Which is ridiculous to me. I finally got a vague description of each dress written down. I've got a terrible memory so I can't even imagine what which dress looked like now with the descriptions. Needless to say that the dresses weren't memorable enough for me to wear for my wedding day. read more

We arrived at promptly for my appointment and were greeted immediately with a smile by the employee at the front desk. I let her know I had an appointment and she went off to notify my consultant. In the meantime, another employee happened by and saw me waiting by the desk. He asked if I had been helped already and I said yes, I had. The front desk person returned and guided me through the store to meet my sales, consultant, Rita Rae. She greeted me with a warm smile and held out her hand to me. She asked me if I'd ever shopped for dresses before and when I replied no she gave me some tips on how to go about it. She walked me from rack to rack and explained that their dresses were arranged by fabric and as she walked me through the racks she also let me know that they were all samples and that I should feel free to try samples between size 6-10 since she would be able to clamp it down to my size 4 frame, no problem. The sections/racks each had a poster by it that showed which fabric that rack featured. The dresses were stunning and I could feel my estrogen levels spiking. She told me starting with about 4-6 dresses would be a good start and she led me to a small, but comfortable fitting area that had my own spacious change room and seats for my group. There was even a box of kleenex nearby - maybe for bridesmaids/bride's mom tears of joy , or maybe for Vancouver winter weather runny noses.. very considerate! Plenty of hooks for coats and purses on the walls by the seats, too. All in all I tried on about 12 dresses and she helped me with zipping/lacing up/removing each one. She was very quick to notice when I didn't 'love' a particular piece and made sure we didn't waste any time with those. She was also very quick to notice when a particular dress worked on me, and was exceptional at emphasizing and articulating the details that made the dress work. Best of all, she was honest with shapes that were not flattering or not suitable. She had a terrific eye and was able to recommend perfectly matching veils for each dress. She honoured my budget, too, which was very much appreciated. She was professional and efficient, yet warm, and you could tell she enjoyed her job and found a lot of fun in helping brides. When we were all done she gave me a clear idea of the time-frame for ordering and alterations, gave me her card, and assured me my file would be on hand for when I returned. What a great experience. It left me not wanting to go anywhere else. I would've bought it right then but I had an appointment I wanted to honour (at the Bridal Gallery) which I ended up regretting severely. Key Points: * Selection may be smaller than Bridal Gallery, but what they DO carry is gorgeous. It's a smaller, but concise selection.No ugly dresses here. * Prices are Great! My range was between $800-1400 and there was NO problem finding beautiful gowns * Highly recommend this place and this particular consultant. * TRY ON styles you think you won't like. I never thought I'd like LACE but that's what I ended up choosing! And apparently it's very common for brides to go a completely different direction than they planned. read more

I am so glad that I came to Lisa's Bridal Salon in Oct of 2016 (on recommendation of another bridal shop), it was the one store where I found THE DRESS. I had visited about half a dozen other stores, and all of the dresses could work but I hadn't been over the moon about any. So much so, that I thought settling was normal. When I arrived for my appointment, I had a pretty specific list of what I thought I wanted. Lorena, picked the dresses that I outlined and then asked if I would try a few she would pick for my body type. I had been wanting a professional to help me, but I had yet to find a store associate that knew the exact fits of the dresses. In the fitting room we started with the dresses I wanted, and I had the same unsure reaction knowing they could work but were nothing outstanding. Then I tried her picks, and they blew me out of the water. At first I wasn't sure I could pull them off as they were entirely different from what I thought. Lorena was so professional and encouraging, she actually told me today would not be the day I would decide, that instead I should go home and sleep on it for a few days as the style was new to me, come back, retry and then I would know. Boy was she right. As soon as I got home that night, I cancelled the other two appointments at stores I had not been to. I knew without a doubt that I would be saying yes to the dress at Lisa's Bridal. When I came back for the second time, I knew the instant I put the dress on that it was the one. I honestly can't imagine my wedding day without this dress. I received endless compliments and I truly felt that I was the most beautiful bride I could be. My entire experience at Lisa's Bridal was fantastic. Along with the dress I ordered the veil, it was simple, classic, and a perfect compliment. I also did my alterations with Lisa's Bridal, the dress fit perfect after the one fitting. I would 100% recommend Lisa's Bridal to anyone. read more

I went to quite a few other salons (including Bridal Gallery and Sposa) before heading into Lisa's. I'm glad I went to those others first, because I really fell in love with the dresses and the staff here, and I don't know if I would be able to appreciate them without having those "meh" experiences at the others. They carry the Allure Bridals line which I was looking for (only place in the Lower Mainland - next closest is Victoria or Nanaimo). I originally went in to look at another dress, but the associate (Rita) picked another (similar) one for me to try, and that's the one I fell in love with. So yeah, Rita was absolutely amazing. I didn't feel pressured at all and really enjoyed my experience. She had great points about how things fit, and even convinced me to try a veil when I was adamant that I didn't want one. In she came with this very delicate, unassuming one that she just tucked under my bun. (I've been to other places where they've forced me to wear these big, embellished ones that I've hated, so I was really surprised to like her suggestion). They have a half dozen little change rooms with full mirrors inside, and then they have little chaise lounges for your entourage to sit in right outside your dressing room - so you don't have to parade out in front of a bunch of other girls (which I found really great, since I can be a little self-conscious). They also offered me the sample at 20% off, which really helped with our budget, and the dress can be stored there until my wedding next year. Also great, they offer discounts for men's tuxes and bridesmaid dresses for the ladies if you purchase your dress there, and they have a pretty large selection of styles! I feel like a total Karen leaving a bad review, this is definitely a first for me but I would love to save other brides from the bad experience that I have had today. I have had a few friends tell me about their negative experiences with this place, but I wanted to give this store a shot. I made an appointment a few days ago for an appointment today. As most brides do, I had been visiting different stores looking for my dream dress prior to this appointment - as we all should do to see what's out there, am I right?! Well great news! I found the dress of my dreams last night! I put my deposit in for this gorgeous dress and since it was late, I emailed Lisa's Bridal this morning. This email said that unfortunately I had found my dress yesterday and that they should pull someone from their cancellation list (do they have one?) as I'm sure another lovely bride would love an appointment sooner if she can make it in that evening. I received a phone call from Lisa's bridal this evening asking if I'm on my way. I said no and that I emailed my consultant at Lisa's bridal this morning saying that I found my dress last night and wouldn't want to take an appointment from another bride now that I didn't need it. Nobody emailed me back and I received this phone call this evening instead. The alleged owner Nelson said that I should have called in since I didn't receive an email response from the consultant who was off shift until later in the day. I responded by saying that the consultant shifts schedule is not my problem and that I would have come in for my appointment had someone emailed me back saying that they don't care if I found my dress last night (within the 24 hrs), and that they will still charge me the cancellation fee. But nobody contacted me. Nelson said I should have called in when I noticed that nobody emailed me back. I said this was not my job. I work a full time job, I'm doing my masters, and I'm mid way through my practicum.. I don't have the time to follow up more than once. Somebody should have called me or emailed me back to tell me that I would still be charged if I don't show up. But instead there was no response to my email, and an aggressive phone call saying that they are charging me the cancellation fee regardless and a sarcastic "congrats you found your dress but you are still being charged". If someone responded to the email that I sent 7 hours before my appointment telling me that I would still be charged, I would have shown up and tried on dresses for fun at least. But instead, there was no response until the aggressive phone call that I received this evening. *update* Apparently Nelson is not the owner, he just says he is.. probably to feel like has accomplished more in his life than he actually truly has. In which case I do feel for him. I wish I listened to my friends who have had bad experiences here too (stories that I will not disclose as they were not my direct experiences and I will only tell my own truth here). Moral of the story is that if you happen to make an appointment at this store and find yourself in the same situation as me, and find your dress within 24 hours of the appointment you booked, pull a classic "waste his time 2021" but for Lisa's bridal. Walk in, check in, and walk out because apparently that's what they would have wanted. Then maybe you won't get charged the penalty fee for finding your dress elsewhere within 24 hours of the appointment. Clearly my intention of giving my appointment to another bride on the cancellation list (maybe they don't have one?) fell short, there was no intention of filling my spot from their end and I was still charged. Nelson was rude and sarcastic with me and sounded like he was irritated that I found my dress at some place other than Lisa's Bridal. Looking for a dress is supposed to be fun and I had a blast at The Bridal Gallery, Bisou Bridal, Davids Bridal, Everything But the Groom, David's Bridal and many more. I went to a few bridal stores but Lisa's was my second. I preferred the sales person at the Bridal Gallery because she was practical and budget conscious, and VERY patient, and the one at Lisa's kind of treated me like I was 12, and hugged a lot which made me uncomfortable. I ended up buying the gown from Lisa's because I loved it. I must have had a good appointment time, because we were the only group in in the dressing area. They were able to get my gown in really quickly and when it was in, they did the alterations really nicely, but the alterations were super expensive compared to other places that I could have taken my gown to. I just found it easier to stick with Lisa's since the gown was already there. Overall a decent experience. read more

Well, I said I would come back and shop again and I did! I just couldn't find the last finishing touches for my more casual dress at other stores. It was getting down to the wire, so I was hoping Lisa's could help out! Great experience once again. Vivian was working again at the time I came back (this time with dress in tow) and once more was fantastic with helping me match everything once I had the dress on. Things got a little busy in the store, but another gal helped to nab things for me so I wouldn't be kept waiting. She and Vivian were wonderful to work with, and we all were chuckling over how I'd ended up getting everything BUT my dress there! At this rate though, when it comes time to shop for my previously mentioned formal wedding Lisa's will be one place I'd certainly come back to. read more

Came for an appointment on a Thursday afternoon. While the receptionist wasn't the most pleasant woman, my consultant was very nice and helpful. I was shown in to the bridal area and the layout was outlined for me. I was then left to look around as the previous appointment for my consultant was not done yet. The dresses here weren't what I was looking for. They were fairly standard and if you're a size 6, you have tons of options. Larger than that and you're limited. I outlined that there weren't any dresses I was interested in trying on and my consultant was very nice about it. She said that they were just starting to receive new stock and so to check back in the next month or so. While not the store for me, they were very busy with both prom and bridal appointments. I would recommend bringing a small number of people with you here as large groups would crowd the store. read more

Of course I am Biased when it comes to the front desk staff as I've known Marnie for years, but she was very pleasant and has a calming nature. I was introduced to Rita, who listened to what I wanted, showed me how the dresses were arranged on the hangers so that I could find the styles I wanted easily. She recommended about 3-5 dresses to start and I went into a change room with sufficient room to move about and that had enough seating area outside the curtain for my guests and a tissue box:) Rita was matter of fact but sweet and almost motherly but in a good way. She was quick and attentive and helped me dress and unzip/unbutton. She knew what worked and what didn't by having a natural intuition and reading my body language and listening. Not only was she very helpful and caring, when I later needed some above and beyond service (my own fault), she was very understanding and made it all work out for me. She really made my day! More space in the changing area and mirrors would have been nice but overall that's my only issue.... a non issue, really. Thanks to Lisas Bridal!! read more

I was so taken aback by the complete disregard for people's feelings displayed by management at Lisa's Bridal. I drove my fiancé to pick up the dress she so eagerly awaited. She went in, but they had completely messed up on the adjustments. Not by any fault of ours, my fiancé hadn't changed in any shape or way. The mistake was clearly on their end. That's fine, mistakes happen. The manager of the floor then proceeded to take down my fiancé's name, to go fix the problem. We were told it would take about 3 hours. That's fine, this dress is that important to us. We also both live different areas in White Rock, so the hassle to drive out to New West isn't something we can do easily. So we opted to cancel any other plans we had that day, all wedding related, just to be around to pick up this dress. 3 hours later, my fiancé and I went back. Yet again empty handed. She told me that they weren't even close to finished. Not only that, the supposed "floor manager" gave one look at her and then proceeded to ask.. "who are you again?" As if she didn't remember the bride she was so determined to help 3 hours ago. An 2 hours later we got the dress, we asked to talk to the manager because we had clear complaints. Some guy who was at the front desk proceeded to claim the position of manager. We explained our concerns and disappointments.. the waste of our time, and the lack of urgency for something we had been waiting around to pick up. His response... "but the dress fits now right?" Listen here Lisa's Bridal, it's not about whether or not you fixed a mistake that was yours to begin with, it wasn't about the fact that you made us wait 5 hours for something you said would take 3, and it's definitely not about the money! Lisa's Bridal, your "management" staff has a complete disregard for people's feelings. Had you shown any sense of concern or empathy towards our situation, all would have been fine as that was all we had hoped for. But no, your way of fixing things was to offer us half the amount for the price of the alterations to the zipper portion that was messed up. Half. Not even full. That equated to $28. For a dress that in total cost was more than $1200, adjustments and all, you really think $28 is any form of consolation to a bride who placed their happiness and eagerness to buy a dress in your hands? Whoever this guy that works at Lisa's Bridal is, I had the biggest issue with you. You guys ruined my fiancé's experience, which is what buying a dress is all about. Yet, instead of being focused on that, you throw a small portion of money back our way, and expect it to be okay? Lisa's Bridal cares more about money than the happiness of their customers. Please be weary with Lisa's Bridal. They are not what they claim to be. read more

This morning was the day to venture out for bridesmaids dresses. I already have my gown but wanted to stay local to get my ladies theirs. I decided to wing it and not make any appointments at any shops which worked just fine. As we were walking down Bridal Row I looked in the place next door and it looked way too crowed so Lisa's it was. It was nice to be greeted with a smile and not like we had put someone out because we didn't have that coveted appointment. We were quickly helped and shown to the bridesmaid's dress options and were allowed to pick through it for anything we thought would look good. To be honest it was a relief to only have to decide the style/colour. Once we had picked out the dress options we were considering we were promptly assisted by Linda Hawke. I do believe that she is new to this shop but that didn't hinder her helpfulness at all. My ladies tried on 5 dresses and came out with one that will be great for all of my girls and a colour that will complement my dress,not over power it. The only part of the whole thing that threw me off was the sizing of the dresses. They are all over the place ha ha. With the service we received in the dress location, I am definitely sending my fiance and his boys over to the tuxedo half of the shop. read more

This was my second stop on my wedding dress search. Our original appointment was at 2 pm on a Monday afternoon, but since our first appointment ran over we phoned to ask if we could push the appointment back half an hour so I could eat something. The receptionist was very happy to move the appointment, and I was very happy I had time to eat some lunch. While waiting for the consultant, we had a great chat with the receptionist. It's always nice when the front counter staff are super friendly, it makes the place feel really welcoming. The consultant I had was Sharon. Sharon was super fantastic! She explained how the dresses were organized by size and style, and she walked around with us to pull out a few starting options, then let us roam freely to pull any other dresses that seemed interesting. I really liked a dress on a mannequin, so she happily pulled it off for me. I really wanted to try on the Disney Princess dresses by Alfred Angelo, and while they only had two styles in stock (Cinderella and Snow White), Sharon hunted them down for me. She also found the Twilight dress for me to try on first for kicks. The change rooms are a great size. There was plenty of room to move around and get in and out of wedding dresses. What I really liked about Sharon is that she was genuinely interested about my engagement and what style of dress I wanted. She kept going back into the store to find other dresses that she thought I'd like. She also stayed within my budget, which was great. Sharon also found me a fantastic veil to match the style of dress I like. I would come back here in a heartbeat to find my wedding dress. On our trek to find my friend's perfect wedding dress, this place was the second stop. The first store we were in had a great staff but it didn't give off the feel of being glamorous. I came in here with low expectations but was surprised at how elegant the interior was and how friendly the staff were. There was a huge array of dresses and it was well lit all around, making it feel luxurious. Based from some reviews here the receptionist is apparently terrible, but ours was a pleasant woman. She was very courteous and made sure our needs were attended to. I guess we lucked out? Since we're already stopped by a bridal store, we have an idea of what she wanted her dress to look like. Our sales lady insisted she keep an open mind and had her try on several dresses that she never considered. It's a good thing she did, because she fell completely in love with a dress design that she never even considered while looking for a style she wanted. It was right in her budget as well (her max spend is $1000). Our sales lady was very experienced and knew more of the technicalities of what would look good and what dresses my friend should avoid. She also told us what none of us knew: it would take 6 months to get the dress in once it's ordered and then have it tailored to my friend's body (8 if it was a lace gown). The other bridal store didn't even mention this to us. Super helpful. I guess we also lucked out in terms of how crazy hectic it could've been - apparently it was super busy the day before and everyone was just running around. It was peaceful and quiet that day so there was barely anyone in there (we went on a Tuesday) .We didn't feel rushed at all. Another thing I loved about this place is how it connects to Leading Man, which is where guys can rent and/or buy tuxes/shoes etc. If my friend's fiance decides to get stuff from there and they ask me to tag along, I'll post a separate review for that. They have a sale rack which we took advantage of: 20% off dresses before tax. Not sure how long that will last so if you're shopping for a dress, go make an appointment ASAP. I think the only drawback I can think of is that they're closed on Sundays. So if that's the only day you can go.... well you're s*** outta luck. Overall, I really enjoyed my experience. On behalf of the bride to be, I can confidently say she enjoyed her visit as well. 4 stars out of 5. Will I go back? Most definitely. Edit - I KNEW I would forget to include this. Ill start by saying I didn't end up buying my dress here, BUT my experience makes me wish I had! I was given Julie as my consultant, and she was an absolute dream. She was very kind, not pushy at all, and honest. She had patience with me, as I was experiencing a lot of stress at both my appointments I had. I walked in and was warmly greeted however, the sales woman didn't take a lot of time to understand what I was looking for like Bridal Gallery did right beside it. I did find a dress though, a beautiful one that I was ready to purchase. I wanted to take a picture first to send to my mother to have her input before purchasing but the saleswoman told me I was not allowed to take one picture. I explained how my mom lived in Halifax and could not be here and that she didn't know how to use FaceTime. One of the sales staff mocked my mom (well, more so me) for that. I asked why I can't take a picture of it and they said the designers are on contract with them and don't allow people to take pictures until dress is purchased. That's bull because people can easily take a picture via FaceTime, they didn't even have designer dresses in there. I've been to designer stores and tried on 10k dresses and they let me take all kinds of pictures and videos. Every single other wedding establishment allowed me to take pictures. I said I wouldn't buy the dress if they didn't let me take a picture and they said "oh well, those are the rules". I told them they lost a sale and I'd never refer anyone there. I walked to their competitor, Bridal Gallery, next door and I bought a beautiful dress there. They gave me 10% off because I told them about my awful experience at Lisas. I contacted this store to arrange an appointment. I had recently tried on a dress here I was very interesting in purchasing. I provided the store with the information including the reference number, size and colour of a dress. Today when I arrived and I was told my dress was ready. She shows me the wrong dress. Then she shows me the same wrong dress but in a different colour. I told her this is not the dress I had requested. She tries to convince me they are similar and I should try this one on. When I refused, she disappeared then returned to say "we don't have that dress anymore but maybe we can order it for you". "Why not try on another dress?" We departed the shop and called another store to locate the wanted dress. We were told they could obtain the dress in 1-2 months, not the 4-5 months that Lisa's required. Lesson learned. read more

They are the worst. I went there in early July to order a dress that they told me would be ready by the end of September. I needed the dress for early October so I thought it was cutting it too close but they said if I pay the rush fee they can have it ready 3 weeks earlier. They also said I can call in a couple of weeks to find out when it would be ready. They lied!! I called back in 3 weeks and the girl it spoke to laughed at me for even asking. I called 2 Fridays ago and after some research their manager told me mid September and said he would call me back on Monday to confirm. A week later I never heard back so I called. Not only was I given attitude I was told the dress would not be ready until the end of September. I asked for my money back and they refused. I am livid. Never go here you will regret it. From my personal experience , I felt the sales people they are very friendly. But the lady working in the alteration department was terrible. She has bad attitude to Asian people(NOT JOKING). You can feel that.But because I am very happy about the service from Vivian and I got my dream wedding dress, so I recommended Lisa's Bridal to my friend. But the bad thing happened again. She also felt the lady working in the alteration ( always standing behind the counter ) gave her attitude. They did not fix my friend's wedding gown.My frd's wedding is on July 29 and they asked to her to pick up the dress on July 28 4pm. Totally unacceptable! You screwd my best frd's wedding! This has RUINED her day when it's supposed to be a happy day don't go here!!!!!!!! read more

While they do have quite a wide selection and a comfortable dressing room, I found their customer service underwhelming. My consultant seemed more interested in chatting with the other staff than helping me - she just stood by while I tried on my selected dresses without offering much useful feedback. I felt like just another bride being rushed through the appointment and out the door. Without excellent customer service, how do you expect your customers to trust you with such an important purchase and all the other related services such as alterations? Even though I found my wedding dress here I will be purchasing it from another bridal salon with better customer service. Don't recommend. read more

I had an amazing experience here in selecting my dream wedding dress. Julie, my consultant, was extremely patient with me and at no point hurried or pressured me into a decision. At other bridal stores I felt pressured to make a quick decision which should NOT happen for such an important purchase. What I also liked about Lisa's bridal is that they are the only ones to carry Essence of Australia dresses in the lower mainland, which is an absolutely beautiful brand of dresses. read more

I can't stand this place. When I was shopping for my bridal dress the staff here were actually rude to me here! I recently came here again to shop for my sisters grad dress and was shocked to see her receive the same treatment. I had assumed my horrible experience was an anomaly or one salesladies bad day or something. I wouldn't ever spend a single penny here, this place is wretched. She clamped a dress onto my size 10 sister and then wanted us to pay another 150 to have it altered to fit her, the dress was an 18W! When we said we thought they would order another one in her size, she said "well this is a one of a kind dress, sold off rack" I told her that at another bridal salon (next door, and WAY better) they had told us that a dress cannot be altered more than 2 sizes because it compromises the dresses structure too much, she rudely said "well I have been selling grad dresses for almost 2 years, and we have excellent seamstresses" needless to say we will never return. the dress was 499, plus 150 to alter and tax on top to decrease a dress 5 sizes?!! They are NUTS here. read more

The staff was helpful at first but were not very well trained in measuring apparently. The size they measured for my dress was wayyy off and when I went to pick up my dress they were rude and even asked me if I put on weight when I had actually lost weight. There was also beading falling off the dress i ordered ($600 dollar dress btw) and when i asked if this was broken or something they just said no nothing wrong when clearly it wasnt right. They made the mistake of only measuring one part of my bodice and neglected the rest causing the sizing to be off. Not a fun experience. read more

Do not whatever you do buy your dress there, they will gauge you on alterations. Their bridal consultants are not sincere and dishonest. Also, the manager who alleges he's the 'owner' Nelson is very rude and obnoxious. What I did for my wedding I tried the wedding dress at lisa's bridal and bought it elsewhere for half price and got a huge discount on alterations:) they have a good selection just don't buy it there!!! read more

Less than stellar experience here. When shopping for my best friend's wedding dress, we visited several bridal salons and unfortunately the experience we had here was overwhelmingly "meh". The selection of dresses was decent, but the sales consultant was not the greatest. She kind of just held back through most of the appointment, and then went into pushy sales mode when we found a dress that was "ok" (i.e. not the dream dress we were looking for). We had much better experiences at Bridal Gallery, Isabelle's, and even (if you can believe it) David's. read more

Lisa's bridal is a great place to scope out dresses and to try them on for size. They have an outstanding collection and they are always up to date with the newest styles, but having dealt with the consultants, I am gravely disappointed. After which, you may be better off purchasing your dress online and getting the alterations done yourself. It is good to give yourselves about four months as most dresses are manufactured when you order them in. As well, they often shipped out from China via ground and who knows how long that ought to take. I went to Lisa's Bridal Salon multiple times with my Brother's fiance and ALL times I was gravely disappointed with their Consultants. When the bride tried on a 2011 wedding gown that was gorgeous, but was not completely sold on the dress, the consultant was incredibly pushy and marveled at her saying "This is it, this is the one". I find that a better consultant would ask her where her hesitation lies, and perhaps move towards personalizing the wedding gown. This is the most important dress of your life! You don't want to be bogged down by someone who only cares about a sale. Eventually our bride chose a different bridal salon. We did end up getting our bridesmaid dresses here. Each one was $220, with an additional $60 to make the dress on a rush order. Initially, I thought it was a matter of shipping so I wondered why we were spending another $240 when, generally, the rise in cost should be less than that. Later, I learned it was the amount of labor that would be put in to make these dresses faster. I suppose that is all understandable but the manner in which the consultants attempted to explain this to me was rather shady. "When are these dresses going to come in?" "2 weeks before the wedding?" "You aren't sure if they are going to come in two weeks before the wedding? And we have to do additional alterations?" no clear answer was ever obtained from the consultant that we were working with. However, she was very clear in stating that we should go somewhere else to alter our dresses if we are so worried about alternation time. Truly, none of this made sense which brings me back to my point that you can go online and find these dresses that are being sold at Lisa's bridal. They are cheaper and the shipping time is much less. The exact same dress was found online for $152.00CAN, and that shipping would be free on all orders above $50. The site had also stated that they can get the dresses within the month which is half the time. As a wedding planner, we know that deadlines are not flexible and that there are so many different personalities. Tensions are running high and you want to work with companies that understand this aspect. I believe Lisa's bridal simply doesn't. read more

Erika was my consultant and she always welcomed me to revisit the store to retry the dresses I was interested in. Not pushy at all and would actually listen to me, she even replied my email on her day off. I originally got my wedding gown at Lisa's but suddenly changed my mind after one day I paid the deposit. I sent a message to Lisa's on a Sunday (they were closed) and told them I had changed my mind about the dress and would like this other one instead (another brand Lisa's does not carry). Nelson (manager/owner) replied me right away and told me not to worry and was assured "we would figure something out". Nelson had my original dress order on hold and phoned me back the next day and told me they would try to order the dress I want. Unfortunately, they couldn't because the dress I wanted wasn't one of the brands they carry. No words can describe how thankful I am to have Nelson and Erika helped me out during the time I was panicking about my dress order, Nelson always replied my messages on facebook to keep me updated and everytime I wanted to try on more dresses Erika would tell me no problem and just email her pictures of the dresses. I was so lucky because Nelson made an exception and allowed me to change my order / exchange (after signing the contract for no refunds/exchange). When the exchange didn't work out, instead of keeping my 50% deposit and telling me to choose another dress at the store, Nelson gave me a full refund so I have the option to search for that dress I want elsewhere. With all the time and work Lisa's had spent on me, I really didn't want to go elsewhere to make another purchase. I am truly thankful that Nelson helped me out so much as he was extremely caring, accommodating and most of all he had placed me ahead of the business to ensure I am happy. I will definitely recommend brides-to-be to visit Lisa's Bridal I'm sure you will have a good time there, stress-free wedding dress shopping is what we brides love! Looking at the reviews, I think the whole shopping experience at Lisa's really depends on the consultant. I came in July 2016 to find a dress for my August 2017 wedding, and Annabelle was incredibly efficient. I had a book with all the styles pulled out from magazines with what I wanted, and Lisa's had everything I wanted in stock. Annabelle pulled every dress out and I tried them all on very efficiently, but I didn't like any of them on my body. I was open into trying other styles, completely different from what I had in mind, and she brought over a couple other dresses. Needless to say, I found THE dress, and Annabelle made me feel like a princess. Regardless, knowing we had another appointment elsewhere that afternoon, she suggested that we try even more dresses on, and to pop back in after the second appointment if we didn't find anything just to get another idea of the dress before I left New West that day. After less than stellar service at another store, I went back to Lisa's and bought the dress. It came by December 2016, and I went back this weekend (mid April 2017) to pick up the dress. Diane was my consultant as Annabelle no longer worked there. Diane was just as helpful and amazing. One of my notable moments about the service is how she did not push me to use Lisa's Bridal for alterations. Instead, she told me to bring it home, think about it, and I'm always welcome back for alterations if I choose to use the salon. Diane also helped me pick a beautiful reception dress. After I went home, I realized the colour I chose may have been too similar and I called back and left a message over the long weekend, completely freaking out and telling them to stop the order. Then, after I slept on it, I decided to stick with it. I called and left yet another message, and called again this morning. Diane picked up the phone, and bless her soul, she was SO incredibly patient with me. I recommend making an appointment, and if possible, when it's not too busy. When I went this weekend, it was during the Easter long weekend, and I think it was also late for 2017 summer brides and girls shopping for prom to order their dresses so the store was relatively quiet. read more

I got my perfect prom dress from here! The price was better than any other dress stores around the area. Their service was amazing and very casual. I didn't feel pressured to buy anything and they were quick to help me zip up or tighten the dress while I tried them out. read more

I can not comment on the bridal gown service they provide as I got my dress somewhere else. However, my fiance and his groomsmen got their tux rentals from this place and they had a great selection and the prices were reasonable. It came in a whole package. Definitely recommend coming here for tux rentals. read more

Everyone will have their different opinion about Lisa's bridal, but I must admit, this is the best bridal store I have ever been to. The staff were so friendly, my consultant was Val, it was on a Saturday and there was only one other person there trying on her dress. I didnt make an appointment, but they still had me come in and find "the dress".I picked a dress out, that at first I was a little hesitant to try on, but I fell in love with it. It was a little over my budget, but you know its the dress when it fits you so well, and looks AMAZING on you. And plus you only wear it once, so might as well make it special. I also got my bridesmaids dresses from Lisa's bridal and got an additional 20 off. I am very pleased with the overall customer service, and would recommend this store to anyone that I see. read more

I did not enjoy my experience at Lisa's bridal. I found the consultant did not really take the time to listen to me. I had compiled a bunch of photos of dresses I liked to show her and when I did, she quickly looked through them and said, " i know exactly what you want". She brought me a bunch of dresses that were nothing like what I wanted. I hated almost every one she showed me. The dresses were too small and she kept saying to me, get one of your smaller friends to try it on, you can see how it will look. when it actually fits. Hello...I am built differently than my smaller friends and it will not look the same on me. When I did find one that I liked, she did the hard sell and said that it was perfect for me and that I should buy it. She kept saying, I will see you later this afternoon when you come back to get it. Needless to say, that I did not end up going back there and would not recommend that consultant. read more
