I found a very sick, abandoned street dog in India in September 2015 and brought him back to the UK…read morein May 2016. His name was Senti. He was a young dog, born in spring 2014, but he had multiple skin inflammations, bacterial infections, a weakened immune system, low energy, and was generally unwell. Abingdon Veterinary Clinic treated the skin condition but failed to investigate underlying causes of his ill health, or even to consider that these might be important. His low energy was similarly not explored. Senti's skin infections did clear up. However, he died of acute renal failure in November 2017, following several days of vomiting, anorexia and lethargy. The emergency vet who saw him diagnosed glomerulonephritis. Glomerulonephritis would have been picked up in any general screening and could have been managed accordingly. To make matters worse, vaccination can exacerbate glomerulonephritis and Abingdon Veterinary Clinic had recommended and administered a vaccination for Senti just 2 weeks previously. The vaccination appeared to trigger a glomerulonephritic crisis, which in turn triggered kidney failure. Abingdon Veterinary Clinic's failure to properly investigate Senti's health concerns led to his premature death. I do not recommend this clinic. If you are looking for a holistic vet or if you have an animal which needs a proper diagnosis go elsewhere.

We took a chance on City Paws after reading the other reviews and are so glad we did! They were available to take our dogs quite last minute for a few days when we had to go out of town and they are very flexible with day play dates. We love knowing that when they are boarding with City Paws that they are staying at the home of a City Paws staffer rather than a kennel or crate at some sort of facility. One of our dogs is a rescue and has always been nervous around new people but he seems completely at ease with Matt and his team. Both dogs are excited when they are picked up in the morning and seem to have an awesome time whenever they go out with City Paws for the day. They always come home happy, enthusiastic and exhausted (in the best way possible). Matt is also super responsive and easy to communicate with. He has even FaceTimed us so we could see the dogs playing at their property outside London. Long story short - we highly recommend City Paws!

My only specifications were for them to thin out the hair on the back of his neck as he is long haired and it grows very thick and long there. As a long haired dog he mainly requires trimming on his chest, back of the neck, sanitary areas and shaving of the paws. My dog came away with a very wonky and uneven hair cut on his chest and bottom aswell as his paws were not shaved. My main concern is how the owner of the shop responded to my complaint. Very rude and unwilling to accept an opinion that differs from her own. She claims that they do not offer thinning hair out on the neck even though the website very clearly states they offer a full body cut to your requirements. I was offered a full refund for the groom when I spoke to her on the phone however she later emailed to say she will only return 50% of the money. The staff don't seem very experienced in dog grooming or customer service and I would recommend avoiding them.
