Before shopping, I stopped at the customer service "money services" counter to exchange a $20 bill for two $10s. I was told that the cashier could not open the cash drawer for change only (even though I've exchanged cash at the west Dillons in the past). So I left and went to Hy-Vee where they gladly changed the $20 bill. And I was able to do all my grocery shopping at Hy-Vee. Great friendly customer service at Hy-Vee. Clearly Dillons is not big on customer service.

This young man always has a smile on his face and gives you his full attention when waiting on you. I have shopped with Dillon's store since Safeway closed. After Covid their turnover rate is high. I would say this is causing some of the bad reviews. Customers and employees don't have time to interact. I am a personable patron and like to speak with employees and other customers. One thing Covid did was to learn to be patient. I always check out with an employee. I am not a fan of the self check out. I have had bad service with both store employees and customers. We are all in this together and we should treat everyone how we would like to be treated. I believe most people like to be acknowledge and when shopping I like to call employees by their names. This works two ways. Customers need to be polite to other customers. This can be as simple as saying thank you, your welcome, moving over so someone can get past you. We walked in and the new owner told us he opened Saturday and still was getting in products including more produce. There was a pretty reasonable amount of produce though - daikon, greens, lots of types of mushrooms, mammoth ginger root (see my pic), and other goods. There is a lot of space and most of the shelves seemed sparsely stocked, but there were tons of boxes in the back. I think it was cool of him to open before fully stocked, because this is a little more accessible than the other markets, though Yi's is technically walkable from campus. Aggieville is just much closer. There were drinks, snacks, pocky and other sweets, noodles, spices, sauces, rice, and even cookware like bamboo steamers. I bet this will be well received once it is fully functioning. I am thrilled that we have three markets in our small city with ingredients that I use on a regular basis, so this is a welcome addition to town!

Took it to new house and left it in box until 16 November when I moved the old stove out and installed the new one. The stove top burners worked, but the screen was dead and oven didn't work. Called Menards that day. Kid asks, did you unbox it? No, I managed to hook it up and start it in the box, WTH kind of stupid question was that? But, I said yes. He says it's not their problem since it's past 7 days. It was a total of 13 days from purchase. If it was still boxed and wrapped, then 30 days. Since I unboxed it I have to go through Whirlpool. Spoke with store manager and was told sorry that's the policy. So no Thanksgiving meal cooked, nothing cooked in there for Christmas either. So they don't tell you about this 7 day policy, and you don't see anything about it until you get your receipt and aren't likely to look at that print on the bottom of your receipt, and by then it's too late anyway. Manager tells me if I would have bought the store brand. Criterion, I could replace it for up to a year. Totally deceptive practice that I plan on reporting to State of Kansas AG. I spend thousands of dollars at Menards every year since the Manhattan store was built, but never again.

I have ordered from all grocery stories for delivery since the pandemic started, and Aldi has been my best experience. Aldi goes through instacart, and it has been very easy to use on my computer and the app. Once my order is placed and time slot for delivery chosen, I can add to, edit, and update my order until the shopping begins. I am able to choose specific substitutes and list notes for the shopper. The delivery fee is only $3.99, whereas the other stores charge $9.99. Both times my stuff was delivered, the way everything was packaged and placed by my door was flawless! I never was much of a fan of Aldi produce but lately what I have received is great quality. I would recommend Aldi delivery for local groceries right now if people are not comfortable going to stores, though the other grocery stores are now offering free pick-up (when some previously charged for this option).
