And I ventured back again the other day when I was in the area and hunger struck. And boy am I glad I did. They have lots of options: sandwiches, wraps, focaccia & a selection of hot food. None of which I have tried because of the incredible range of super tasty salads on offer. And these aren't your boring green tasteless salads. Think falafel, brown rice, roasted sweet potato, Greek, tuna, quinoa, freekah, potato, tabouli, beetroot and more! Choose your size (small or large), to have in (for an extra $1) or take away and then pick which ones you want. They load them into your container and away you go. I've tried many different ones, this last time included 4 types: roast sweet potato, freekah, tabouli & falafel salad - a bit of a middle eastern slant, totally delicious and healthy to boot, getting in a good couple of serves of veggies for lunch! I couldn't finish the whole thing (large takeaway container) so I ate half and saved the rest for alongside dinner that evening. Delish! I've also heard great things about the coffee, but haven't tried it myself. They are only open Monday to Friday, but they open super early (pre 6am) for your pre work coffee. There are a few outdoor tables that are good for a sunny day, but no room inside to sit and eat so you might need to takeaway if the weather ain't great. Friendly & efficient service tops it all off. Friendly staff, really excellent coffee and generally tasty food. I especially liked the forest mushroom salad (with caramelised nuts and a generous amount of fresh goat cheese.... yum!). I also appreciated that food came quickly but not TOO quickly (who wants a rushed brunch??). So, while it didn't blow us completely away, it is certainly deserving of a solid four stars. The interior is modern and almost feels a bit Scandinavian - lots of wood and open space. And if you're not after a sit down meal, you can always grab a coffee or sandwich or dessert to go. You can also pick up plenty of local items, like Mt Zero olives, lentil soup mixes, etc.

The take away que was busy and there was a pretty good crowd inside. My meal- scrambled eggs on sourdough. My friend had the poached. And that looked just as good as my eggs too. The service is great! And the waitress whom helped our table was knowledgeable on the history of why the place was named "Tom Dick & Harry" no one by that name is working there and for some reason when the place was acquired it was based on the owner not able to get a particular dog for the family... Hence, the toorak cafe came to life... Seems to me any "Tom Dick or Harry" would enjoy this place and in regards to the owner getting the start on it makes for great place to come and sit before taking your doggie for walk (convenient place outside to sit yourself and the dog to enjoy coffee) A great note to this place is how pleasant and convinced my friend And I were in getting another coffee while sitting there. So on top of the first bunch, we sat there long enough and I followed my long black with a latte. I also noticed some really swish looking cup cakes at the counter...
