Excellent location on the water at Saint Kilda Pier. We had stopped in for the all day breakfast on a Sunday morning to enjoy the spring weather. Service was quick and friendly and the coffees nicely done. I had the Eggs Royal and my wife had the eggs with sweet potato hash browns (gluten free and clearly marked). Both where excellent but the hash browns stole the show, after a taste my wife had trouble keeping me from stealing them all!

There Be Penguins...but not on the menu... Walking out to this outcropping of this pier, my eyes see the gleam of Melbourne's skyline. Before that, a harbor of recreational water crafts buoy to and fro in calm breezy St. Kilda, a township. Before that, a humble pavilion, St. Kilda's Pavilion, to be specific, houses a quaint café of hidden riches. This is Little Blue. Beyond a warm latte, to set the mood as I ogle beyond the oceanic horizon, to only imagine that miles beyond, lies frigid Antarctica, I catch a glimpse at some enticing entreés, on the menu, that I wouldn't have expected. I choose not to sit in the pleasant bed-and-breakfast-style kitchen nook inside, but bask in the comfortable, lightly-breezy deck patio, and stay in touch with the beauty of the wild civilization that wraps around the exterior. One of my favorite drinks of rejuvenation is the classic orange juice. Little Blue provides me with a mind-blowing, yet simple, frothy orange juice - not cold, not warm, but cool beans. To go with this memorable pulp pitcher, I partake in slow destruction of a lovely snapper fillet, accompanied by the savory tribulation into an array of ideal mussels. Connect the sights of Melbourne with the tastes of the sea, I sum up this mini, unexpected expedition as a sigh of...damn, I wish I was back there. PS. During sunset, just around back of the Pavilion, in the jetty rocks, wild penguins sprout to feed.

I had only a glass of wine. The outdoor seating was nice, and there was live entertainment, a singing guitarist. Nice touch.

As delicious as everything looked, we ultimately ended up splitting a BBQ platter for 1 with some pork ribs added on... and it was still sooooo much food that we left stuffed! All the meat was great, but we both agreed the pork ribs were our favorite. Outside of that, the beef rib and oink ball also stood out. One other thing that really stood out to us, was their sauces. They were fantastic! Not just what they use to cook their meats, but the side sauces. Nuclear wave was a nice habanero sauce with great smokiness and solid heat that paired perfectly with the meats. They have happy hour on certain drinks from open until 6pm on certain days, so be sure to pair a beer with it!

Such a blunt but exceptional approach worthy of the rating I gave it. Onion rings were crunchy and impressive. Wings were beuitiful. The sauce, in multiple occasions was at the perfect level, they didn't make it too strong. The big stuff was the most impressive. Despite its immense, Headstrong appearance the food was actually easy and enjoyable to eat and handle. Every single item was impressive apart from the bread, the buns. Which were boring. So you gotta use it to make a sandwich or something and make the most out of it. Wish I could of given the bubblegum milk shake a chance. Great atmosphere as well. Worthy of 5 stars. Worthy of paying the price that we paid. Excellent customer service. A wonderful experience from third wave Cafe overall.

Steve and Matt (the faces you will see on most visits) are hilarious and encapsulate good service - they're friendly, accommodating, and take an interest in their regular customers. This alone is worth visiting Miss Jackson for, but throw in their great menu and you'd be crazy not to put this place on your list of regular brunch haunts. Breakfast covers a lot of the usual suspects - but the winner is the corn cakes with bacon, avo and chilli jam, accompanied by a strong Allpress coffee to wash it down. The corned beef sandwich with pickles makes for a sturdy lunch and the home made slices and muffins are a great afternoon pick me up. A rotating specials menu offers seasonal variety - recently; a panfried garfish with a panzanella salad got two out of two thumbs up. Sit outside if you fancy some sun, at the large communal tables if you want to read the papers, or in the back room if you're after discretion. Either way, you won't be sorry.

We ordered 4 meals and 6 coffees =$95. 2 Spanish eggs which had changed from the last time we came here, a serving of the pot set avocado and goat chèvre, pumpkin bread with cured salmon, and I had the lamb and quinoa salad + extra poached egg (the egg makes the meal a breakfast right?) which was a bit skimp with the lamb but still tasty. Definitely one of my fave places for a fab coffee in St Kilda!
