Was visiting the Jewish Square of the city, and happened to stumble upon this small café, our stomachs hooning and harring. We were draw in by the cozy atmosphere, and inviting nature. He's how our experience as a family of 3 went: Food Quality ~ The food here was excellent with fresh, organic, locally grown and farm raised ingredients. Service ~ The staff member here was very attentive. Although they only have one server and one chef catering the entire café, we received our food and felt well cared for. Ambiance ~ This place is whole heartedly one of the cutest and cosiest café in it's district as it has a very cozy interior. Cleanliness ~ The restaurant is very clean, and has outstandingly hygienic cutleries and dishes compared to other cafés. Value for Money ~ The portion sizes are quite large, and however they are on the little expensive side, however they contain proper trustworthy ingredients. Menu Variety ~ The menu had outstanding variety and had seperate menus and bold labelling for their gluten free and lactose free options. Location ~ The restaurant is kinda tucked away, which might be difficult to access but it calls for a less crowded and calmer environment. Sustainability ~ If you're an activist for paper straws, at this café they supply plastic. Overall Experience ~ Loved it, and is definitely a great memorable experience for the family. read more

Located in old city Prague, we stopped in here for breakfast. While all the signs are in English, our nice waitress didn't speak a word, but we pointed and she nodded. I ordered scrambled eggs and potatoes, and a latte. My friend ordered a museli with fruit and honey. We sat chatting for an hour or so, the waitress checked in ya a couple times. A small, cute little place just by the Spanish Synagog, Little Break is a good spot if you're looking for breakfast or lunch. read more

Thought this would be a great little local place to grab a quick bite....the name being 'little break' and all but it was the absolute opposite. We sat outside in the glaring hot sun for no less than 45 min before we finally got up to go inside and inquire about our food.......being American in a foreign country we didn't want to appear rude. Apparently they had forgotten about us completely.....when there were only two other tables of maybe 12 tables total. We waited another 10 min and got an order of grilled vegetables but no sign of our ribs. After another 5 minutes I gave up, went back inside and ask for the ribs we ordered, to go. We waited probably another 10 min to finally get them while we commiserated with a group of young women from holland who had just had the same experience. To top it all off, they charged for the bread which was like a store bought loaf of Arnold's rye. And to be clear it was brought to the table without us asking for it......all around, a terrible restaurant!! First, I want to say that I'm a very easy going person and pretty easy to please when it comes to food. I'm not a picky eater or bitchy to servers or anything, but this place was very meh. It's so darn cute, has such a wide variety of delicious-sounding dishes on the menu, and is right around the corner from the hotel I'm staying at, so I really wanted and expected to love it. Even when things started going downhill, I really wanted to rate it with 4 stars. However, given my overall experience with the food and service by the end of it, I can't go higher than a 3. Drawn in by the adorable cottage style, I was immediately confused about whether or not to seat myself or order at the counter. There were menus on the tables, but also menu boards on the walls. The fact that the one worker I could see was working on something at the register, behind the counter, and did not engage with me, made me think I should go to her and not wait for her to come to me. Since there were 16 pizzas on the menu, I asked how big a pizza is and was told that they "don't have pizza." Bummer. So I asked for a caprese salad and was invited to sit where I'd like. A few minutes late, she came to tell me they were out of mozzarella, so no caprese. Bummer #2. I ended up ordering a BLT with fries. If you like BLT's the American way with mayo and crispy bacon, beware... this was pretty different. The bacon was very soft (I think normal for CZ), but most importantly, instead of mayo, it had barbecue sauce. It wasn't terrible, just not at all what I was expecting. I wish the barbecue sauce had been listed with all the other ingredients on the menu because I would have made a different choice. The fries never arrived (which worked out for me because I saved a little money and a lot of calories). Before paying (which was now happening back at the register), I asked for one more bottle of water and let her know that my fries never arrived (just to make sure I didn't get charged for them, not to complain). She apologized, but when I went to pay a moment later, I was kind of surprised she didn't offer the water bottle free of charge or something to make up for the mistake. Seems like it would have been a good gesture to try to retain a customer. On my way out, I was pleased to learn they had a customer restroom (very cute, of course), and it was very clean. Unfortunately, like the cherry on top a disappointment sundae, they were out of paper towels. So, as you can see, nothing unforgivable happened here, and I could have easily overlooked each of these glitches in isolation, but having experienced them one after the other, I'm definitely not planning to ever go back again. read more

"Little Break, Dobrý den!" You will be hearing this a lot when you eat here. Little Break is located near the Jewish Quarters. My friend stumbled upon this place while walking around and decided to stop here for lunch. Once you walk down the stairs, you notice how cozy the place is. Indoor seating is very limited. As for food, my friend ordered the fish n chips while I decided to try the Czech Goulash. The Czech Goulash was very savory and delicious. It's basically a hearty beef soup with chunks of potatoes. The soup to bread bowl ratio was kind of off. Near the end, I finished all of my soup and was left with a lot of crusty bread. Also, there wasn't that much beef in there at all. I think I counted three small chunks. The price was equivalent to around $8 which is not bad for lunch. The lady that took our order was very friendly and always had a big smile on her face. I say just avoid it! 30€ for two frozen bad pizzas! Too oily on top yet dough was way too stale and crust was way too stiff. It accepts cash only! It's 21 century! But accept € and screw you over for it charging you 5 € more than it's price! They give you bread and cream cheese without you asking and then charge you for it extra! Dingy and inconfortable... Slow and sloppy service, we had to remind our order three times! We should have left the first time we reminded them of our order but we were tired, had to go to toilet and hungry. Phenomenal, quaint cafe in the heart of the Jewish quarter that has exceptional service, a warm welcome, great food and cozy vibe. Celiac's rejoice! Little break also has many gluten free options including bread, sweets, and beer! I was here for three days and and stopped by for something each day in Prague. Definitely worth a visit. read more

Great Food in a considered place with a nice interior and friendly staff! We had a welcoming last minute service, shortly before they were closing the place. And we had a nice burger and noodles, which were both perfect and well thought of its conduction. The bread of the the burger was a little bit dry for my taste, but that happens if you fry a sesame breadjust a small note! The food was very mediocre. We went into this place because it looked so adorable from the door. It looked cozy and clean. My daughter wanted a hamburger and we ordered the onion rings. The fries that came with the hamburger were soggy and greasy and no flavor. The onion rings had a hint of onion but it seemed like there was no onion, maybe minced? Not sure but it wasn't great. A cute little place that we welcomed well after walking in the cold weather. We've been asked to move table when we were already seated to give priority to bigger groups, not very nice. The drinks we ordered were very expensive compared to other places we've been to in Prague (i/e I ordered ginger tea which was actually a glass of hot water with 3 slices of ginger and was sold at the equivalent of about 6€: scam!) At the end, on the bill, we were surprised to find that there was a 15% surcharge (for 'service') which we know is illegal in Czech Republic. So be careful... read more
