The view from the terrace out at the Charles bridge. Amazing.
    Colin D.

I'd give this place 5 stars for the food unadjusted for price, 4 stars for the food adjusted for price, and 5 stars again for the view. The view of the river and Charles bridge is just unbeatable. The food didn't disappoint, and while it was very expensive by Prague standards, the whole splurge of the meal for two with tax, tip, wine, two deserts, an appetizer and the like was about 3100 Kč, which is under $130. Really, not bad. We go the pumpkin ravioli, which were were good, but not distinguishably pumpkin and more lightly cooked round noodles in olive oil with pine nuts. The salmon was surprisingly good for a landlocked country, but not "crispy" save for the skin. Still, it was probably my favorite dish of the night. The Iberian pizza was very good--a lot because of the truffle oil, but still a deeply satisfying pizza. The chicken schnitzel was fantastic and ridiculously well-plated for kids food. Our 10-moth-old loved it. The pumpkin soup was much closer to a Thai tom yum gai with pumpkin seeds--which isn't a bad thing, but was just a bit surprising based on the menu description. The addition of chicken and noodles was a bit odd though. The wine list had a bunch of Czech wine, but the waiter couldn't give me a good enough description to feel comfortable ordering a bottle. I wound up getting an Italian Montepulciano d'Abruzzo, which was quite tasty if not the best bottle of red ever. Both deserts--the creme brulee and the chocolate fondant were great. The fondant was really more of a fantastic lava cake than any fondant that I would have recognized though.

Amazing food and view! The waiter was very friendly and attentive. The starter bread and butter were very fresh. I loved the nuts on the butter as well. I ordered the rigatoni with an extra side of grilled vegetables. The rigatoni was covered in tomato sauce, Parmesan, black olives and arugula. It was so delicious! The grilled vegetables included eggplant, bell pepper, asparagus and cherry tomatoes. The best part of the restaurant is the view! It overlooks the river which is gorgeous. It was a cold day outside so the waiter turned on the outdoor heater which was very helpful. Also they gave me a blanket to wear while I ate! So generous of them. I would highly recommend this restaurant.

    Bread garlic knots...soooo good!

Beautiful patio area that overlooks the Charles bridge....probably the best view. The food was delicious and very American. Garlic bread knots...heaven! So good! Man, I dreamt of these after Appetizer sampler was fantastic. Seafood, chicken, salad, etc all was really well done Risotto was perfectly cooked...not too al dente and not too mushy. The flavor was amazing Burger was perfectly cooked and seasoned Service was good...slightly slow but I think that's just Europe!

Thank you for a wonderful evening for our last night in Prague. We thoroughly enjoyed the view and delicious food. I highly recommend the angus burger with truffle if you are looking for a show stopper. Husband had the salmon and he said it was full of flavor. Thank you Hergetova Cihelná for a great night. Cheers from Tampa, FL

Very nice place to dine and view the valtava river and karluv most. A little bit expensive but still a wonderfull view. The cheese salad was very good and the green pea soup was excellent. Go there for the view and the soup on a cold day.

The food, service, and view were amazing. What else is there? You have to see.the two peeing and rotating statues first, hysterical. We had a nice.table for two outside right along the wall with an incomparable view of Charles Bridge and Prague. I don't even remember what I had, though it was great, by my wife still talks about her octopus with black risotto, and she is no big foodie. It was really awesome! Highly recommended, then just walk along the water to your hotel.

The setting is epic. Right on the river and adjacent to the iconic Charles Bridge and tower. Beautiful day or night. Settings don't get much more romantic than this. Service was attentive and the food quality as well as the preparation was excellent. Only low point is that the menu is uninspired and that the Czech still don't know how to make red wine. but let me get over myself and just say go there and enjoy the setting, the moment and know that it is a meal you will not easily forget.

The view, the service and the food all were great. Compared to the grumpy waiters we've have throughout our trip, Phillip was an absolute delight. But only giving four stars because the portions are disproportionate to the very high prices. We thought the pork dumplings were pricey (albeit yummy). Then came my husband's main dish of fish and chips. Although he said it was delicious, they could have added another piece of fish for the $25 price tag. It was our splurge meal on this trip and probably a one-time visit to this restaurant.

Incredible food, freshest ingredients, beautiful views of the Charles bridge outdoor seating and spectacular service (Thanks Roman). A perfect meal. Salmon with chive potatoe purée, white asparagus with bacon crumbs and hollandaise sauce. Just perfectly done.

A great, stylish restaurant with amazing views of the river, top-level service and delicious meals. Their wine list is also exquisite and even though I do not like burgers in general, in this restaurant even burgers turn into a fine-dining meal. What is great about Hergetova Cihelna is the fact that it is popular also among locals, which proves that the place is definitely worth a visit.

    Foie Gras burger!

Great food, great views!! The Foie Gras burger was one of the highlights of my entire trip! Will definitely be returning on my next trip!

It was my second visit to Prague so I was taking my time to see more than the "must see things." It was totally picturesque. But I wasn't hungry. So I regretfully moved on without eating there. Imagine the elation a few days later when someone in our group booked a dinner reservation for us at the same place I was regretting having missed! With a group of a dozen of us, I think someone ordered everything on the menu. We were all thrilled. We had appetizers , cocktails and entrees -- everything we had was great! The restaurant is family-owned and we were treated to the son being a primary server for our group. Now and then dad was part of the picture too and we enjoyed the added dynamic. Pretty sure the son is on point for Americans as his English was on point. They were great hosts!

Tastebuds of a 10-year-old but the wallet of a CEO. He's a hard guy to impress. He'll spend 80 quid on a plate and still ask if they have chicken tenders. He says things like "complex flavor profile" then washes it down with a Diet Coke. I only managed a photo of the scallop before it disappeared into my stomach. Cooked to perfection. Sweet glaze on top. Delicate. Balanced. Honestly one of the better things I ate on the entire trip. What stood out most was the chef's style. No two plates looked the same. Each one had its own story. You could tell someone cared back there. After I cleaned my plate, the waitress came over. She had a mouth on her that would make a sailor blush, but somehow it worked. She gave my brother a hard time for not finishing his shrimp. Proper dressing down. Someone had to say it. I admired her for holding us traveling lads to a local standard. Bit pricey, sure. But you're not at some tourist trap. You're eating seafood hand-picked by Neptune himself. As they say, when in Rome. Or in this case, Prague.

This is a very nice classy place (I honestly felt slightly underdressed in my touristy best). But they welcomed us openly and seated us immediately. We found the staff to be super helpful, taking our coats, answering our questions and pouring us countless glasses of water (we were super thirsty). We started with oysters, which are shucked immediately and perfectly prepared. I mean like expert shucking here. And the oysters themselves were from all areas around the Mediterranean and were both larger than the ones we typically get here in the states and really complex in flavor. We were basically in oyster heaven. We took the suggestion of our server and ordered a kind of sampler to start, then we ordered a few more of our favorites. The oysters were perfectly presented with a trio of sauces. We don't know what was in the green one but we really REALLY liked it. We also kind of sort of accidentally ordered this huge lobster grill platter. Our waiter, who was great, didn't speak super English. I was asking him which platter he liked the best and he said the lobster. My husband wanted the shrimp and I thought we ordered the shrimp. I then watched the chef make this incredible lobster platter on ice and was just really admiring the attention to detail... and then they brought it to our table! Whoops. Well I wasn't going to send it back. We ate it and did not regret it at all. Also, can I just pause for a second to talk about the bread and butter that is served here? There are two oyster shell halves cleaned out and filled with butter and one of them is full of butter laced with black caviar. Just shut up. I ate all of the bread so I could eat all of the caviar. Man. So great. And in the end the bill was quite reasonable, especially when compared to what we'd pay for a similar feast at home. It was so good we seriously considered going back a second time but we ran out of time. Next time we're in Prague, though, this will be very high on the list for a re-visit.

When biting back legs for flavour I discovered that they were tender enough to eat (rarely the case). The largest shrimp were akin to lobster, containing delicious bits of "lobster butter." The bouillabaisse was to me spectacular. The mark of a good bouillabaisse is fish and shellfish that are NOT overcooked, and a tasty broth. This one had a tomato base.
