Ahh Little Britain 'Epicerie fine' seems a perfect analogy to this purported slice of Albion, except its hardly an epicerie and definitely not fine. I encountered a raft of middling quality English and American products ( lets just call them Anglo-Saxon) akin to what one might find in a cheap ASDA or Tesco except the prices here were anything but cheap. This was the most astronomically priced cornershop of English goods I have ever seen in my life, and I worked in Marks and Spencer! The Queen herself would blush at these prices, stuff that costs a quid (£1) in good ol' Blighty (the UK) is inflated to 4-5 times. You would honestly probably save money getting some bloke to deliver them directly from the UK.
Selection of products was pretty decent, a little bit of everything, its probably the stuff that has the biggest demand here. One thing I have to mention is, particularly if you are like me and get the occasional craving for the meaty delight that is Haggis, the one found here is of premium quality, and although very expensive ( €18), is well-worth the hefty investment.
My advice, take a quick hop across the pond to the UK (better yet to Manchester if you seriously want good stuff for cheap) and indulge in all your English cravings, you might actually save money! read more
