six of us were catching a flight this past Friday and had about an hour to kill so we went to the LBJ at the Winnipeg Airport to grab some food and a beverage. it took forever to order because they would not take order in person, forced us to use the little QR tables. However, our table didn't work so we were directed to go to other tables and the bar itself to use their to make our order. The drinks took forever to come, and the food didn't come at all for about 45 minutes. Our final boarding call came before the food arrived and we had to chase down the server and get our food put in containers to go. The was less than half full. No excuse for this, especially at an airport. Further, when the food and drink finally did start arriving after our third boarding call, it started arriving at the wrong tables because we had been forced to use the QR codes at other tables. By this time, other people were sitting there and it created mass confusion. Overall, an absolutely terrible experience that could've been resolved instantly had the simply taken our order in person. The first time I visited here I really liked the vibe. It had a nice warm, reddish glow about it. I didn't drink any alcoholic drinks but the energy and the buzz of the people of all kinds was contagious and I felt happy and relaxed. I love the little markets they have here and the sparkling water drink called "Brite Water." It's not too sparkling or fizzy, and it has a nice flavor. The pretzel meal item was pretty delicious and dipping it in ranch was a good idea. The hummus pretzel dish on the second visit was less delicious and enjoyable. It felt more like a healthy snack. That day I was a bit stressed out and the vibe seemed different. Overall I think this is a nice place. read more

If you live in Winnipeg, this is the best place to hang out. If you're just visiting, you HAVE to stop in! From starting out with just one beer a few years ago (the great tasting 1919), to major expansion into many different beers, you are sure to find every single one of their beers crisp, fresh and soooo tasty! There's something for every taste bud so be adventurous and try a flight! The patio is dog friendly and it's always a great place to enjoy the amazing architecture of the beautiful Exchange District. Great to pop in if you're walking around or even if you're biking (racks to lock up just out front). Parking is limited so expect to park on the street (free in the evenings and part of weekends). The brewery is host to many awesome events throughout the year. Things like making your own leather bag, to trivia night, live music and parties. It's worth mentioning that this is a GREAT place to have your workplace party. We've done a few and had food delivered (hint, Indian or pizza pairs perfect with any of their bevies!). If you're short on time and can't stick around for a pint, you can take their beer to go or have it delivered to your door by the Little Brown Truck (order through their website). Lastly, we can't say enough about the atmosphere and the staff. There isn't a better place to come hang out where staff is east going and always has time to make you feel welcome. This is our absolute favourite spot in Winnipeg so go check out their beer (and the newly launched cider)! read more

Fantastic beer. Feels like you're in the brewery because you are. The bartender is super civil and makes tasty food.

This is one of my favourite places in the city. I always love drinking their beer, but it's extra special when I get to visit the taproom. The staff are outstanding and there are so many good people that work there. Winnipeg is lucky to have such a great place. read more

I came here for an event a few days before their grand opening, and they look to still be making last minute touches to the bar. It's an extremely open concept place where you can see the brewing process in the actual brewery. While the place seems big, the actual seating area is very limited, and quite frankly it's probably not the best place for a large scale event IMO as many of us had to stand the entire time. For a sit down brewery though it's a perfectly fine place. They still only have one beer, which is the 1919. There's also an array of snacks available, but I never ended up trying those. Their beer is okay, it's a rather light pale ale so it's quite easy to drink. For a brewery it does its job well. Don't expect a full out bar from this place though. read more

You can also buy a little brown jug of it for $6 each or a howler, growler or a keg at a highee cost (see my uploaded photo). For Ontaritonians, we don't have this at the LCBO. They do serve some snacks like pretzels, nuts and cheeseboard. They also have some merchandise with their brand. And they have a patio but beware of wasps. Overall it's a nice little place to chill but with only one beer it may not attract all the drinkers with their unique taste buds. read more

Headed out to this new brewpub last night for a pint. Walked in and was immediately impressed. The concept is so simple; brewing tanks and accompanying process and equipment on one side, simple and elegant bar front on the other with sizeable patio space. The staff were friendly and engaging; they asked if we had been in before and when we said no, they gave us a basic run down of the beer (they only have one on at the moment, but its fairly new. Expect them to expand their offerings in the months to come) and left us to enjoy as we saw fit. The beer itself is a nice, malty Belgian pale ale; not too sweet, but enough caramel/hoppiness to keep you wanting more. After some post-visit research, the "1919" name comes from the double fermentation method standardized in Germany in the same year. The brewmaster definitely seems to know his stuff, and he is a local to boot. Home-grown talent at its finest! Only four out of five because of the single product offering. Look forward to revisiting in the next few years to hopefully try any additional brews. read more

I went in for one beer and stayed for many. Each beer was distinctly different and delicious. The brewery itself was breath taking and well thought out. I will return. read more
