NEWSFLASH: ABOUT THE LITTLE FREE LIBRARY MOVEMENT: What is the Little Free Library? Have you noticed small boxes on a stand with a swinging door that you can open with books inside? If so, you have witnessed a national and international movement of local book sharing. No-Library Card Needed! Borrow or keep a book and replace or add a book to keep the momentum alive for everyone to enjoy from babies, children, tweens, adolescents, adults, seniors...etc.! The History of the Little Free Library- "It all began in 2009 when Todd H. Bol designed and built the inaugural Little Free Library, a model of a one-room schoolhouse, at his home in Hudson, Wisconsin. The next year, he gave away 30 Little Free Libraries to friends and family as enthusiasm spread throughout the community." According to author Becky Hughes of Parade Magazine. The movement then turned into a national non-profit which allows individuals, groups, or communities to order their own Little Free Library Box on the Internet and it will arrive with a preregistered charter sign in which it can be added to a world map! So where ever you travel you may be able to pick up a "quick read" even while on vacation or visiting family, relatives, or friends in other cities, states or other countries.
