Rather than gently redirecting the behavior, one of the teachers put a mask on him, even though children under 2 are not recommended to wear masks for health and safety reasons. Unfortunately, I saw this happen to other children as well. I also witnessed and heard yelling from some teachers -- which is not only inappropriate in any early childhood setting but especially concerning for a school that claims to follow the Montessori method. You don't have to be a Montessori teacher to know that yelling at children, especially toddlers as young as 18 months to 3 years old, is not acceptable. I later confirmed with certified Montessori educators and visited other Montessori schools where this kind of behavior would never be tolerated. To be fair, there are some truly kind and capable teachers here -- like Delancey and Dina -- who genuinely treat children with care and respect. However, The director herself has also been seen yelling at children. There are two bathrooms shared by both children and staff. When the kids were potty trained, the children used to go to the bathroom alone without supervision. It wasn't until a school inspector visited that the practice changed -- only then did they start sending a teacher to accompany the children. This raises questions about the school's priorities and compliance with basic safety standards. One more thing to be aware of: at the end of the school year, parents are expected to give "tips" to each teacher -- with a minimum of $30 per teacher. If your child has one lead teacher and 3 or 4 assistants, that adds up quickly. However, the tip money is collected by the boss first, and it's unclear if or how it's distributed to the teachers who actually work with your child. That process made me uncomfortable, and I felt parents deserved more transparency. In the end, it's your decision. I just hope that by sharing my experience, I can help other parents make an informed one. Every child deserves a safe, respectful, and nurturing environment.

When my 5yo daughter and 2 yo son attended summer camp at Countryside Montessori back in 2022,…read moretheir experience was not positive. I kind of forgot about it until recently when we were talking about all of the summer camps they have attended so far and Countryside Montessori came up. My daughter started to share more details about her experience 3 years ago that concerned me. She mentioned that she would get yelled at frequently for small things like not lining up right away or for speaking up for her younger brother- something that she did out of care, not out of defiance. Once there was a birthday party and they were giving out juice boxes. When they offered one to my 2 yo son, my 5 yo daughter spoke up on his behalf and said that he doesn't like juice, to which the teacher replied "stop talking, let your brother speak for himself!!" While I understand the intention, the delivery felt a bit harsh for a 5yo who was just trying to help. Another time, my 2yo son coming home and all of a sudden he became scared of taking a bath or even a brief shower. Turns out that the teachers would hose down the kids outside to "cool them down" even though my 2yo son expressed that he didn't like it. They did not respect his wishes and kept spraying him. He eventually became terrified of water even though he used to be okay with water before this experience. When my 5yo asked them to not spray her younger brother she was often ignored. When I brought this up to the director at the time I was told "it's too hot outside, they need to cool down." Perhaps things are different during the regular school year, but based on our experience, I would not recommend this place for a summer camp. If we could give 0 stars based on how they treated my children, I would.

The teachers (Ms. Lidia, Ms. Arielle, Ms. Alejandra, and Ms. Sosana) are full of soooo much love and treat my children as if they are their own. As an educator myself, I am amazed by how much my girls have learned at 2 years old- about every single holiday, about presidents, about historical events, etc. The teachers are so creative and when I show their daily school photos to friends who have children in daycare, they are even impressed by the dedication and creativity of the teachers at Little Explorers. The staff at this daycare are warm and feel like family, and this is absolutely something created from the top down.

They are absolutely amazing, completely focus on your little one, and help them grow, develop, and learn. This is not just a daycare or school, it is a family that takes care of your child as if they were their own (Even Akram!!). It starts with the top, and Ms. Kate and her family are phenomenal. They are dedicated to the kids and put their time, resources, and love to the little ones. They are always available and always willing to help. I have been with this school since its beginning in Floral Park with my oldest. Ms. Sosanna was there and took care of her and made sure she was given love and was fed and learned. When it came time for our youngest, there was no doubt or any other choice. We would wait for a spot here. The school itself is a beautiful home, with a spacious area around. It is in tree lined streets. Inside, it is soo warm, full of color or life and love. Everyone who works there loves each child and gives their full time and effort. There is no question, I would trust Ms. Sosanna and everyone here with the life of my child. They are not only in the best hands, but will also develop to their full potential.

The teachers and staff are super friendly, patient and loving. Special thanks to Ms Gloria who is always great at communication of all the needs & concerns we have! We love you, Ms Gloria! They send the pictures and daily reports (with potty time) every day, which is super helpful for first-time parents! And they even helped potty training for the kids (thank god!). During Covid, there are very strict Covid protocols in place (mask mandate, cleaning, no parents at the class room, etc). As someone who is more cautious and still doesn't feel comfortable with indoor dining with mask off, I trust Ms Gloria and teachers at Kiddie since they follow the Covid protocols very well. Now that my kid has graduated from Kiddie, I am planning to send her back during future summer/winter breaks. I will definitely recommend to my family and friends as well!

My children attended this daycare for a year and I greatly appreciated the parking lot for drop off…read moreand pick up. Very convenient. However, I wouldn't recommend this day care for the following reasons: The educational factor is lacking in their daycare structure (ages 3 and under). Which is unacceptable and underwhelming for the high cost to attend here. My children have been in daycare since they were infants and have always had exceptional care and an engaging environment. I have walked in mid day to find the kids just watching TV here! When this was brought up to the owner- she tried to make excuses then said she'd talk to the teachers and nothing changed. At their previous daycare they would share things they learned or sing songs but didn't happen in the year my child attended. The Pre-K program is different than what they offer for daycare children. They try to follow the guidelines set by the DOE. The program seemed ok for this area. Cleanliness: Bathrooms are in a dingy basement with leaking sinks, insufficient soap and has consistently looked like it was in great need for a cleaning. This to me shows a lack of care and diligence regarding the safety of the kids not to get sick, and lack of respect for your own facility's upkeep. The management is not organized and their practices are a bit antiquated. The contract is for a year, where as other places, it's month to month and if you try to leave before then, they keep the deposit no matter the reason. If families were happy and satisfied, there wouldn't be a need to trap people with this type of contract. The only reason I give two stars is the teachers for my kids seemed to really care for the kids and were very patient and kind.

Quite frankly there is down time in any learning environment. The local district 26 public schools are not above putting a movie on in the auditorium if its a rainy day outside!
