I wanted to provide an updated post: We've been at LMM for over 6 years now, and would highly recommend it to friends and family. Both of our sons have grown here, and the staff and administration continue to be amazing people who feel like extended family. Everyone really cares about your child at LMM, and the attention to details are beyond compare. They work hard to ensure the program is appropriate for each child. In addition to being invested in providing a great curriculum, they are committed to providing a well-rounded nutritional program daily. Even though our older child is now in public school, he asks to return to LMM for summer care and holiday programs. Our younger child continues daily at LMM, and we couldn't be more pleased. We feel we've found a community where our children are nurtured every day. Our older son began Kindergarden this year and not only has he been fully prepared, but slightly ahead. I can't say enough good things about the team at LMM (teachers, support staff, and admin staff alike). I also appreciate so much the effort to ensure meal and snack time at LMM is a thoughtful endeavor in providing healthy choices for children. We love our LMM family SO MUCH I toured so many day dares and couldn't leave my babies, and when I came upon LMM I was instantly relieved to find them. My kid joined at 13 months and was in infant class and Ms Yvonne was so good with my baby. Timely updates and followed the schedule and his eating schedule as per our request. She also followed Montessori based teaching which involved teaching the baby how to use fork, spoon while eating, how to wash hands and rinse and baby sign language. I am impressed by her baby led approach, my kid came home happy and enjoyed his time in infant class. He is now in the same Montessori but in the Toddler transition class. read more

Things started off really amazing here and my son loved his teacher and coming to school. He started at 18 months. According to his first teacher he played great with the other children but was a bit clingy because he started later than most in this type of setting. I had changed my son's schedule from a half day to a school day in the middle of the month with permission geti'm the owner and was told they prorated their rates. This was actually not correct. They don't prorate. They have daily rates they charged me which was more than the 20 extra a day it would have cost for the extended stay. I brought the issue up with the owner and she was very unprofessional and aggressive in her tone. Honestly I really want worried about an additional $300 if they had been upfront about it. To me it was worth it but the fact that I was met with hostility from the owner when I brought it up was concerning.... but I figured my son wouldn't be with her so i wasn't too worried about it. At 22 months they moved my son from the 1-2 year old room to the 2-3 year old room. He started acting very aggressive after being in this class. He was always crying when i picked him up screaming that he wanted food. When I would get home he was ravenously hungry. I brought it up to the teachers and they said he was eating. I came early to pick him up one day and saw teacher at that time grab a girl in his class and yank her back into line. I told the lady upfront who brought it up to the owner and i never saw that teacher again. He went through 2 other teachers in that class and the owner even taught in that class at one point. They asked if I could reduce his hours and at the time i couldn't. I really needed him in the full day. I agreed to reduce his hours for a week if the reimbursed me for the hours they weren't watching him and when they did they tried to use a prorated rate instead of their daily rate. You want to talk about a place that is willing to work with the every day parent, this place is amazing. Our family was recently devastated by the record breaking winter storm that came through the area. Little Marvels was devastated as well. They focused every bit of their energy to get back up and running so that parents could have help as we all put our home lives back together. After losing our house due to a pipe bursting, Little Marvels remained super flexible and tremendously understanding. The crew at Little Marvels Montessori knows what real life is like and works so well with parents and families going through real life crisis. To tell you how amazing they are, my wife and I searched for a new home with 1 major criteria being it can be no more than 10 miles away from this school. I wouldn't spend a single dollar anywhere else and I don't trust my baby girl with any other establishment as well as I trust her with this one. We have a new baby coming in August and I can't wait for Little Marvels to help us out with this one as much as they've helped us out with our first one. read more

LMM is a good school for kids that are transitioning to regular school. Our experience has been a nice one, when our son started in T1 we were amazed by Mrs.Jones OMG she is great!! After he transfer to Primary with Miss Jamey which is amazing as well, he has developed so many skills and is such a happy boy at school. The only thing that disappointed us is that we thought he was going to have Spanish more often because we were told that once he transfer to primary there was going to be a Spanish timeframe for him to practice and learned. Miss Paula is amazing and she has been out for a while, so I guess thats why it is not happening. As Latinos our first language being Spanish is crucial for us that our boy knows and practices this language at school. Other than that I can say anything else about LMM. My first ever review about anything. My rating has nothing to do with their curriculum or their teachers but about the management. Very unprofessional, unethical, and dishonest. My older kid had been to another Montessorie for 4 yrs (1-5) and so I know how a Montessori school and its management typically functions and conducts itself. I strongly believe the folks running this school are just after $$$s and will say and do things to entice you in. The teachers seem to be nice but when the management is unethical they are just one step away from something disastrous as I have seen them cut corners and I don't want that burden on me. Teaching wise I did not have any major issues with them although my kids had 3 teachers in the only 6 months of stay. That is NEVER a good sign . Moved my kid to a different school now. ****UPDATE**** Unfortunately, the months that have passed since this review was written has changed everything. DO NOT SEND YOUR CHILD TO THIS SCHOOL. It's amazing how a few months can change everything. I'm not even sure where to start. The wonderful meal program they once had has turned into absolute crap. Their kitchen staff apparently left and what the kids were being served was AWFUL. I have photos that I will refrain from posting now, but we're talking 1/2 a PB&J thrown on a plate, that looked like it had been stepped on with 3 slices of banana and a cup of what our daughter called "yucky milk". PB&J from a school that states it is "nut free" BTW. Another day it looked like a third of a slice of bread with a sliver of cheese and a side of wilted lettuce (aka salad). This was typical of a few of the lunches I saw. When asked about it ... well she was given more. Wow, really? One of her teachers went out on medical leave shortly after my original review and we were told she would be back in May. May came and went, no updates. I then saw her in the hall one day. I said oh great, you're back, DD missed you. She told me she was not coming back, they were selling their house and moving out of state. She had come to say goodbye. A month later we get an email saying she was just going to be out a little longer. When asked, oh yeah, she'll be back. Complete lie. Forget security. Anyone can walk right in to this school and have free reign of the place. The girls at the front barely look up when someone walks in, the doors are rarely secured, no one pays attention, new teachers never ask for ID, etc. Once I complained and one person did then start acknowledging me when I would walk in. Speaking of new teachers ... you never know who will be watching your child. Rarely is anyone introduced. And forget them telling you someone has left or something has changed. Won't happen. Toward the end, our DD would get in the car and beg me to not make her go back. Daily I was hearing "they're mean", "I don't like it there", etc. And until I started packing her lunch she would get in the car starving. Trust me, MANY have left. They do not have the best interest of your children in mind. They could care less (aside from 1-2 of the many people they have there). They run another business out of the school. I can't tell you how many times I heard them answering the phone "Cedar Cove Ranch" when I would be there picking up DD. And the emails they send ... aside from being grammatically incorrect with spelling errors (not a good sign from an educational facility) were far from friendly and informative. They typically go something like ... the first of the month is a holiday so tuition is due the Friday before and if you don't pay it then you'll owe $50 oh and BTW, enjoy the holiday. STAY AWAY. Save yourself the headache and your child the heartache. This place is not what it used to be. **************************************************************************************** We transferred our daughter here from a Montessori school we ALL loved due to our move. We never thought we would find a place we liked as much, but after a brief adjustment period over the summer she's loving it and we're very pleased with her progress. We LOVE her teachers, Ms. Jamy and Ms. Paula. They are wonderful, patient and truly care about the children they teach. She talks about them all the time and is excited about heading back to school on Monday's. They have a great meal program that includes breakfast, lunch and snacks, they are always outside playing in the sunshine, Santa made a special trip just for the LMM crowd (it was wonderful to not have to stand in the mall line), and our daughter is always bringing home things she has made and reciting all kinds of information she has learned throughout the day. We're very happy we have found a place where our daughter can learn and grow in the years ahead. We know her education is off to a great start at LMM! read more

Both of my kids have been going to LMM since infant and we love it. School days is from 7:30-6:30pm which works best for us when working past 5pm. The faculty there is always very friendly and I truly appreciate their hard work. read more

****UPDATE**** We were finally refunded the full amount. I see they responded, over a year after the incident. And they keep claiming my son needs smaller ratios. Nope. We put him at Heartland in McKinney and he blossomed. After just 5 months, the kid Little Marvels couldn't handle and could barely draw a straight line was writing his full name. Now that it has been just over a year, at barely 5, he is reading books. Little Marvels was a disgrace. Please consider the extra drive to Heartland Montessori in McKinney. They are loving and care about every single child. ****ORIGINAL**** One is too many stars. I was upfront with the school that my son (3) and daughter (1) have never been in a program as I was a SAHM so we all agreed by contract to a one month trial with a non-refundable supply fee, family registration and individual kid registration cost totally $450, plus tuition for each kid for the month. They went one week starting half days and merging into longer and by Wednesday the next week I got a call at 10:20am to come pick up my son; that he was no longer welcome. Not for hitting, tantruming, being disrespectful or anything awful, just wanting to explore his environment and all the toys and learning activities on the shelf. They gave him LESS THAN 2 WEEKS to adjust to a completely new environment and system of learning, but they brag that each instructor has a Bachelors degree and certified in Montessori. What's the point of a professional degree if you can't teach a 3 year old boy who falls well within normal limits? Top it off, when I left I asked for a refund of the tuition not used. I was so upset I didn't calculate or even look at the amount. They short changed us by hundreds not even counting the non-refundable portion and won't even return my husband's emails. Even the upfront fees, I think to keep them is horrendous given the fact they didn't hold up to their end of the contract. My daughter never adjusted in that time almost always crying or sad when I came to see her. One day at lunch I came in to find her locked into a highchair completely separated from all the other kids eating lunch just screaming. The day I pulled them out, her diaper was soaking wet - like bulging. In contrast, after I put them in Heartland Montessori in McKinney, she adjusted immediately and is excited to go to school; was noticeably sad when her teacher was out for a religious holiday. The toddler class is well regimented learning the basics of Montessori and more of a school than the daycare environment at Little Marvels. The food consist of a lot of starches: pancakes, bread, cereal, crackers....the teachers in my daughter's class seemed annoyed and surprised I sent her with carrots, grapes, apples and cheese. After all this, very little sympathy from the school until the following day the owner called to tell me to tell me she felt so bad and offered to add a third teacher to the class room to do me a favor and let the kids finish the month. I am assuming this came after I vented to a large mom group on Facebook and they saw. No - I do not want to put my kids back in your daycare that you rejected them from! 1 single week of half days at Heartland Montessori and both my kids were happy and adjusted. Both of my children attend LMM and they really enjoying going to school everyday. The staffs are nice and friendly. The teachers are great. I love that they help with potty train, both of my children are off diaper day and night before they turn three years old. The reason why I didn't give it a 5 stars is because in 2016 alone my daughter's classroom have 3 or 4 different teachers. I hope it will just be one teacher throughout the whole year. Updated: I have to change from a 4 stars to a 2 stars because since the last time I posted this review- I already met one new teacher and will meet another again today. I feel sad that my daughter doesn't have a good school experience. Gladly, she is too small and will forget her bad school experience with this school. read more

Is there a negative star rating? Little marvels should have more scrutiny on the teachers they recruit. The present teachers have no idea how to deal with kids. They expect all kids to be the same .. They do not nurture creativity nor admire the trait. All that they care is student teacher ratio and the teachers can handle the head counts. In a parent teacher conference , I could neither understand the English the teachers spoke, nor did I know how to answer when one of the teacher had the nerve to tell me , ur kid is not the only kid I have to look after u know..... I have 15 more. Well, that shouldn't be a parents issue, correct? My kid was sad, discriminated ... Little marvels, I wish u had given our child a first good experience...I am so sorry that u have such teachers who don't know to handle kids and it is so sad that u don't care about it. read more

My little girl, Binah started at LMM when she was just 2years old and after a couple of months, her vocabulary exploded. She is 5years old now and graduating on the 20th!! I can't thank the staff enough for all they do for those kids. I have never met such a group of patient, kind and loving women. Because of all the good I saw, my son, Samgena also started in March and is blooming academically and socially. May God continue to bless you as you serve our children. We have had a good experience with LMM. The teachers and staff are caring and nurturing and provide a great atmosphere for my kids. I like that they have a school day or part time schedule option and also extra-curricular activities that are available at the school. I would definitely recommend LMM. read more

My child has been enrolled since he was 6 weeks old. I really enjoy the staff at Little Marvels. It was hard putting him in daycare so young but I appreciate that the infant room has an app and I can see my child's daily activities and and get photos and videos throughout the day. This gives me so much peace of mind knowing my little one is in good hands and having a fun time at daycare. read more

after reading such rave reviews on other sites...and what not..i decided to visit the place... phew ! i went in the morning..and found the place to be a slightly dark...reception area...was busy....ppl moving around..here and there...it was not a very calm environment. i could hear a baby crying..but couldnt figure from which classroom...during the tour ...i saw the baby room...teacher was holding one...rest were busy playing...snacking..etc...still could hear the baby crying..but couldnt see ...after 5 mins. when i turned around in the hall way...i saw the teacher taking out a baby from the crib...yup..that was the crying baby...there was one teacher for about 5-6 kids...that i could see...from the window...if 2 babies cry at once...one is bound to be left out... anyhow ...facility was nice...just very busy...too busy...i found it overwehlming..and felt like i was in a bus terminal... i spoke to the owner as well..she was ok...robotic type... i passed on this one... read more

I believe for any good school the school owners and management team should be good and passionate. When we met the school owner it seemed that they are good. With high expectation we started the private kindergarten program. However the experience was not good at all. Our kid was not happy there as the program was not structured and the teachers changed so frequently as well. When we approached the school owner and president, she was very defensive and failed to address our concern. It was a waste of money and time as far as we are concerned. This is more of a day care than a school. No matured teachers or management. read more

My son has attended LMM for 4 years now & he loves it! Although there was a lot of turn around with his teachers in his earlier classes, we love his teachers now and have been with him for quite some time. As a working parent, I love how they have longer hours than most places & are open on days that many other schools are not. We've taken our two kids aged 1 and 2 to Little Marvels Montessori for nearly a year and the experience has been outstanding! The staff/teachers are very helpful and friendly. The building is very secure with cameras to view your child after you drop them off to ensure they are doing OK. The daily app log that is kept each day tells you about your child's activity (nap time, meals...etc) and my kids love going to school. The child drop off/pick up is amazing and really convenient designated for certain times in the morning and afternoon. Their schedule is very family friendly and is open for most of the days throughout the year (including many holidays) - this is a major plus because the day care I used in the past had over 1.5 months OFF throughout the year (including Christmas, Summer break...etc) time even though the parents had to pay for the whole month. Overall - I would highly recommend Little Marvels Montessori to anyone that is thinking about enrolling their kids - 5 stars! read more

Place was too good till middle of sep 2011. They are struggling to replace a teacher in my son's class. the teacher in his class is now the new director and she is busy (good person!). they have NOT filled her empty slot. An assistant (she is very good as well) who is not montessori certified is running that class. i am really worried. hope they recover from this slump. read more

My 2.5 year old started Little Marvels this year and both me and my son went through some initial settling-in phase. Little marvels did a wonderful job of understanding my issues and followed though on all the reassurances they provided me. Before we knew it both me and my little one started looking forward to school mornings and i now drop him with a carefree mind that he is in good hands with respect to a warm loving nurturing environment with caring teachers.
