Horrible experience! I was forced to write review after 30 days my daughter attended the school. I didn't write it right away because I couldn't really tell and the owner followed me to my car to remind me to write it; made sure i had to write 2 reviews one from me and another feom my husband with 2 different IP addresses so they could get more review. I gave 4 star due to small facility and the school closed 3 weeks for Christmas break and we still had to pay for whole month of tuition fee plus lunch money that is not inlcuded in the tuition fee. Keep in mind the tuition fee here is not cheap. The owner insulted me and threatened me to bring down the review because it brought down his overall review or he would kick her out of school. Dig deeper you will find another bad review about this school on yelps, maybe they can't delete it on there! It didn't stop there. A month later after I moved my 4 years old daughter to different school she told me a story at her old school that her teacher told her if she wouldn't eat with her mouth close she would duct tape her mouth under the carport. My blood is still boiling thinking about this school. Save yourself a headache and go somewhere else! read more

We love North Garland Montessori. My daughter just turned 23 months and can count to ten, say please and thank you. She also asks politely for things she wants. I have noticed she is much happier here. We had to put her in a daycare for spring break week and she would cry a lot as well as throw tantrums after. The caretaker said she hardly talked the whole week. I'm assuming from the unstructured chaos of their day. I truly value the calmness of North Garland and the amount of individual attention she gets so that she is able to grow and learn on her own. This is a great Montessori school. They are true to the ways of teaching Montessori. My daughter learned a lot of different things when she attended this school for a few short months. I think the owner has a great mindset & process of teaching kids. But for some reason my daughter was never fully comfortable & I got that eerie feeling too. I don't think we were here long enough to adjust (that's what they would say) but my daughter adjusted in other schools just fine in one week. Overall I would recommend this school but just ensure you have excellent communication with your child on what happens at school. read more

NGMS provides the best level of early childhood education of any school. Our kids have attended since they were 18 months old, for over 5 years. The teachers and owner provide a loving, calm, and amazing educational experience second to none. They teachers all have at least bachelor's degrees. They are all so kind and loving. I went to this place looking for a student volunteer opportunity. I didn't even ring the bell because I heard a child crying and my instinct guide me to see through the door what was happening. Sadly, I saw an indefensible little kid sitting on the floor crying and cleaning his running nose and being force to properly hold a color pen by a man sitting on a chair at his office. I dont know what kind of educators are working there and I can't imagine what is happening inside the classroom with those little kids. I was in shock for that scene that I just runaway and I am letting you know now that you should be aware about who is taking care of your kids. Besides, I was reading other reviews where I found out that parents are pressured to right a "good" review about the school in order to receive a gift card. Wow! So two of our children have been attending North Garland Montessori for almost two months now. Wow. Amazing school, Ms Rumana, and Ms Anne are amazing teachers. We are so happy with the progress. They are really learning to act like ladies. Vast improvements on writing for both. Discipline is a big part of this school but not in the punitive sence. The make connections with our children and then teach. Discipline is more from its root disciple or to teach or train. They are really being trained to be polite, caring, and think for themselves. This school is great. Our child has been going to the school for 1 year. We have tried other schools in the area. Our child did not respond well at other local schools. North Garland has great student to teacher ratios. The teachers are longer tenured than any of the other schools in the area. Some of the schools in the area have very high turnover with their teachers leaving even in the middle of the school year. The school may not have a fancy lobby with high tech surveilance cameras, but it's what's on the inside that counts. Also this makes the school cheaper than some of the "Disney Land" schools in the area. My wife and I are very happy with our decision to enroll our child at this wonderful school. My daughter has attended NGMS for little over 1 months and we have already seen a huge improvement in her handwriting and reading skills. Her favorite class and always a conversation starter when she gets picked up is music class I myself have been taking harmonica lessons from her. I love NGMS. I have two little boys 2 and 3 and they have been attending for over a year now. The teachers take care my boys like they are family. My husband and I are very picky and we do not trust anyone with our kids. I was a stay at home mom for years and finally decided to go back to work and took a chance here. I was so impressed and I feel so welcome. I have no complaints. My children are fed, loved, disciplined when necessary. I highly recommend this school to all my family and friends. I have a daughter that started at NGMS at 5 years old. She was coming from a situation where behavior in her private kindergarten was out of control. When I visited NGMS my main criteria for having my daughter there was strong academics, a welcoming atmosphere, and a good behavior management system. As a teacher myself I could tell very quickly that NGMS offered exactly what I was looking for. I truly believe the staff at NGMS cares for the students, takes a personal interest in each child, and wants each child to excel to their greatest capability. My child went from knowing letters and most sounds to reading cvc and cvce words. She is also able to do simple addition and subtraction that my other child ( in 1st grade) is currently doing. I have no doubt she could skip her regular kindergarten year and go into 1st grade if that was what we wanted. Overall, every person that my child has dealt at NGMS has made her a priority and I appreciate the education she has received. read more

My god daughter was enrolled in North Garland Montessori School from January 1, 2016 until Mid-February 2016. Mr. Manooch insisted every adult member of the family post about the school. When he could not find the posts after we posted them he expelled my god daughter. She was 2 years old. He had a thirty day guarantee which he just let us get past before he did this. No refunds were given. We did feel like the teachers were decent but Mr. Manooch is not a very nice man. read more

In March of 2016 we enrolled our son who was 22 months. Today I just pulled my son out of this school because of that piece of disrespectful pie that my wife and I were handed today. One afternoon he stated to me that if my wife and I had to review within 31 days, and after we had done this we would receive gift cards. If you scroll down the reviews most parents will begin with a month ago we started our child here. We refused to do this because a full assessment of a child's development CANNOT be done within 31 days. Now I am not sure if the gift cards were a bribe or an honest gesture. He instructed us to use two different IP addresses so that Google does not remove the reviews. So he can have two reviews from one household. He went on to tell me that Google had removed 50 of his reviews about his school. This should have been a red flag! Since then this review conversation has come up several other times. Today he followed my wife and I tell asking us why we haven't reviewed him. We told him we were going to review the school after we feel that we have totally assessed his performance. He proceeded to tell us that this is not a daycare ( I know this that is why my son is there). So my wife said, "Dr M without offending you I feel pressured about this review." Then he just walked away from us without saying anything to us.How then as parents should we feel comfortable drop of our son in the morning with such hostility. I called him just after we left and told him my son will not be returning to North Garland after he has disrespected our family like that. I let him keep Aprils tuition and the deposit as I will never set foot on his property ever again. My wife and I are both professionals in healthcare and financial services so we know what superb service is. I am also extremely disappointed by all the parents that were pressured to give false reviews for a gift card. At first glance and after touring I convinced my husband to let our child attend this school. Being new to Montessori we didn't know what to expect. My one and only issue is with the owner Dr. Manooch. He pestered and pressured my husband and I to write a review just a few days of starting. He also prides himself and will repeat on how he doesn't run a daycare and doesn't need money from unwanted parents and blah blah blah. He even went as far as to tell my husband that he would give us gift cards if we wrote a review within a month I don't know about you but that is bribing to me. How can someone write a review even after a month it takes time to see development in your child. If you read the reviews and see there timeline everyone writes one after a month. The teachers are wonderful, the lady in the front I think her name is Anne could be a little nicer since she is the one people first talk to and meet. A week ago we decided to let Dr. Manooch( which I highly doubt he even has a doctorate) know we would be pulling are son out of the school due to the fact that we are moving but he will finish out the month. I'm not sure what really ticked him Im off but he proceeded to follow us out to our car demanding why we hadn't written a review yet. My husband and I quickly told him we would write one and we intended to. That wasn't enough for him, he rudely told us that we didn't hold our end of the bargain and he doesn't know if our son could continue(which he wasn't going to anyways) and that he runs a good school and how my husband lied to him. In my head I'm thinking all of this is over a REVIEW!! A good review is something that is earned and not jaded. I honestly looked at these reviews and was tricked by all the parents he bribed to write one. So I finally spoke up and told him that he was pressuring us. He quickly got offended and stormed away from us and went back into the building without saying a word. As a parent would you feel comfortable leaving your child with someone so unprofessional and who rose to anger so quickly over a review? While driving away we called the school and informed them we would no longer be letting Malachi finish out the month. PLEASE BE AWARE THAT ALL THESE FIVE STAR REVIEWS ARE HERE BECAUSE HE PESTERS AND PRESSURES THE PARENTS. I remember sitting in the interview and he was telling us how he kicked a two year old out because he hit the teacher once. Instead he should of prided himself on the fact that he turned a trouble child( not saying the child was a problem, because at that age they are learning there boundaries and will push them) into a well behaved gentleman. But instead he was so happy that he kicked the poor boy out whose parents probably needed a little help in that area. All said and done the man is a CON ARTIST. I'm not writing this so you don't take your child there, but more so for you to be aware of the facility your child attends and the man who runs it. My two year old son has been attending North Garland Montessori School a little over a month now. Myself and wife were told if we follow the schools lead, we would see results very soon. I am writing this review because we do see results. My son vocabulary has increased greatly and also uses his words in a full sentence now. They teach every child from the very start, "Boys to act like a gentleman, and girls "Act like a lady". I have witnessed with my own eyes many kids doing just that in the mornings when dropping my son off and the evenings when picking him up. Yesterday for the first time, I seen my own son walking like a gentleman "Hands behind his back". We are excited and thrilled that our son attend The Finest learning center in the area. North Garland Montessori School is the best kept secret in Garland. First of all I am a parent and two of my girls attend NGMS. Montessori is not a copyrighted name, so any school can call themselves a Montessori school. If you go to NGMS you will see the calm environment that is truly Montessori. My oldest is in the elementary class and my youngest just started in the toddler class. My oldest - six years old is already in the elementary class and is reading on the second grade level. If you care about education and discipline for your children this is the school for you. I cannot say enough about the wonderful staff and level of education, my daughter is sad when I pick her up from school. She loves to stay after school to play chess and spend time with her friends and teachers. My toddler just started two weeks ago and the difference is just amazing, she is talking more, she is more calm at home and crying was minimal only in the first couple of days. Before I start describing our experience, I should say that many American born and raised parents would never send their kids to such a place after they visit and learn about it and hear what the director/teachers have to say. But we were different, and here are the reasons why, and why we left. When we first came to see the school, we were immediately impressed with how quiet and organized this place seemed to be and all the kids were well behaved. Now that I think about it, not a single child, in the classroom or a few select ones that were used for demonstration of their awesome skills to us (you will see what I am talking about), ever smiled. They all, however, did seem very tame and docile (a prerequisite for being successful there). Unless your child is an absolute angel with perfect behavior and can always follow what one is told, this place is probably not for you. They are only able to keep it so small because they go through a clever and cunning selection and filter process to get rid of the ones that don't fit. If your child is on a playful/naughty side or spoiled or can show an attitude at times, they will not be treated well. Day after we day we noticed how they kept complaining about the kid and one kept getting more and more scared/upset/stressed when dropped off, and also at home when school was being mentioned. A few times I have observed the teacher grab our kid at the front door and drag, literally drag around the corner, while yelling, and it just made me cringe. Yes, we all yell at our kids at some point, but when you see a teacher do this first thing in the morning when she sees a child, that speaks for itself that something is wrong here. Now, what about these half doors which you will see as you enter! They tell you you're always welcome to come and see what the kids are doing, yet they don't seem happy with you going through those doors and never allowed us to personally take our child into the classroom, never! The only time I went behind those doors is when touring the school. They say it helps the child to calm down and acclimate faster if the parents don't come along - alright, whatever you say, I didn't argue. The owner/director has a clever and appealing (or I can see how to some people this could actually be a turn off) introduction, he tells how his system is different from others, making it sound really great and appealing to the parents who are more old school like we are and who look for structure and discipline, as well as rigorous academics, which I'm sure they provide. He gives impressive statistics for magnet school attendance and shows you some letters from the former students, makes you meet the parents of currently attending kids etc. He tells you that the child's current teachers are no good and don't know how to teach, and his dedicated and experienced teachers with college degrees will give a child individualized attention and employ different approaches to make the best out of one. He tells you how cheap his place is to maintain and how he is not looking to make money (oh yes! Their deposit is $400 and registration $200 which is a bit more than some other schools, and then he charges for food or you can send your own). He crafts an impression that this place cares about every single child and treats them as their own. Not much if any of it turned out to be true. All that we observed was hostility and rigidity. Not a single nice word was said about our child the entire time, and all we kept hearing is complaints. I felt like this was some kind of a game, like they were putting our kid through some kind of mental Boot Camp and testing our patience. After observing this for a few weeks, we were terrified to realize what a mistake we made by sending our child there, and are still dealing with the psychological aftermath of their mistreatment. Some more minor things worth mentioning is they don't provide breakfast (good luck feeding at home while hurrying out the door to work, especially if you have two or more kids), they won't take your kid if you come in after 8:30 unless you have an excuse, they don't allow pizza and sweets like cupcakes for birthdays, and have many other borderline ridiculous and annoying rules. I could go on and on but I just focused on the major things. Shame on everyone involved misleading the parents into having expectations for things that never happen, into paying a lot of money just to stress out their child for nothing. Save your money and most importantly keep a peace of mind for yourself and your little one and keep them in a place where they are happy and don't get yelled or mistreated in other ways that makes them scared. I just can't believe how naive we were not believing all the disturbing reviews we read online. We couldn't stand this place any more and pulled our kid out. Shame on this school for how they treat kids and their parents! What a disgrace! read more

I have 4 kids that attended NGMS, 2 kids that are currently attending now. My kids have been in NGMS since 2008. For the last 8 years my kids have develop excellent social skills. I'm very astounded the lies that was created by the previous reviews. They have 2 negative comments by the same family. I have never heard or been pressure or pestered to write any reviews. We have been asked to write a review on how we feel about the school. But was never was told what to write in the review. Yes I have been told that NGMS is Not a daycare, which is ok with me. Its a Private School which means random kids should not be drop off at anytime. Everyone has rules on how to run their business and I respect that. Yes I have seen on a couple people turned away from not applying with school rules and regulations. I don't want my kids coming home with bite marks or saying kids have been fighting them. Mr Manooch don't just kick people out like that. He talks to that parents and give them opportunity to work the problem out with their kids. Mr Manooch have never been about the money. He puts education 1st for our kids. Mr Manooch is a Man with integrity and loves our kids. Mrs Anne is so awesome. Mrs Anne have watched all 4 of my kids develop to be well educated at the school. My kids love her and the school. Mrs Anne is the nicest understanding person you can ever meet. Its all about communicating with people if you have any issues. I have seen Farrellin negative reviews and their Family dropping their kid off late several times. Everyone have rules on their job that they must followed. They never once mention that their kid was mistreated. So the problem must lie with them. NGMS are not saying that you can't ever be late. When your late all the times it becomes a problem. The teacher have to stop with their doing to help your late kid get caught up. NO Mr Manooch don't tell you how to raised your kids. He just educate you on what they are doing at the school and ask you to followed up at home with the same curriculum, so that everyone can be on the same page. He wants structure for our kids, which everyone should have. Structure have produce straight A students for my children.My oldest kids are in Magnet schools. My oldest girl was in the 3rd grade reading on a 7th grade reading level when she attended NGMS. My son left NGMS and he was so smart he got skip a grade. This school have produce good seeds in my kids life. My younger 2 loves school and always looking forward to going. NGMS taught my kids so much, till its too much to write. I'm always getting complimented on how well all 4 of my kids speak, write, their ethics, and well manner they are. All the credit goes to Mr Manooch at North Garland Montessori School. I have noticed that the vast majority of the reviews are superb. I understand that people have the right to opinions but let's not follow and feed to those negative notions. I just signed my son up to start in January 2017. I am thrilled to find a school that sees the world through my lenses. A child imitates what he sees and often improves it, so imitating to harm someone else I agree should not be tolerated. We as parents need to have a respectful open communication with the child's educator. Part of that communication is to coincide on certain actions that should be enforced at home, school and in public settings. My husband and I started our 2 year old about one month ago and we couldn't be happier! When we toured the school, we immediately noticed how well behaved and happy all of the children were. All of the teachers have very friendly, loving and patient demeanors. We were further impressed to learn how incredibly well educated they all are. Mr. Manooch is very kind and sat with us and explained in great detail the mission of the school and how he seeks to work with families to help children be the best versions of themselves. He genuinely cares for all of the teachers and students at NGMS. We immediately enrolled our daughter. After the first week or so, a teacher brought up areas that needed to improve with our daughter's behavior. She was very kind, professional and nonjudgemental. She explained how the school corrects these behaviors and made helpful suggestions for my husband and I to be able to reinforce at home. I was so appreciative of her support and helpfulness and am grateful for the teamwork provided. Already we have seen great improvements in our daughter's attitude. She is excited to go to school every day and has already learned so much.
